QRCS Announces Package of Humanitarian Projects in Niger

Niamey: Under a license from the Regulatory Authority for Charitable Activities (RACA), Qatar Red Crescent Society (QRCS) reopened its representation office in Niger.

HE Minister of Water and Sanitation of Niger Adamou Mahaman hailed the QRCS’s projects in his country and the great support provided by non-governmental organizations in areas suffering from difficult humanitarian conditions.
Acting QRCS Secretary-General Faisal Mohamed Al Emadi described the reopening of QRCS’s office in Niger as a “positive step towards stronger bilateral and humanitarian relations between our two countries”, as well as a great opportunity to provide humanitarian and development services for the people of Niger, inspired by the humanitarian, Islamic, Arab, and Qatari traditions/ideals, as well as the seven Fundamental Principles governing QRCS’s work.
He thanked the government of Niger and all those involved in the reopening for their support to overcome all difficulties and complete all procedures as planned, with a view to strengthening the existing humanitarian ties and enabling exchange of experience and joint humanitarian action to alleviate the suffering of poor people in the country.

QRCS has 13 foreign representation missions/offices that work together with sister National Societies and international humanitarian organizations. The new office plans to launch 15 humanitarian projects this year, covering the shelter, water and sanitation, health care, livelihood, and food security sectors.

نيامي: أعلن الهلال الأحمر القطري عن تخطيطه لإطلاق حزمة من المشاريع الإنسانية المتنوعة في النيجر، ليصل عددها خلال العام الحالي إلى 15 مشروعا في قطاعات متنوعة مثل الإيواء والمياه والإصحاح والصحة وسبل العيش والأمن الغذائي.

جاء ذلك خلال الإعلان عن إعادة افتتاح مكتبه التمثيلي اليوم في النيجر، بترخيص من هيئة تنظيم الأعمال الخيرية.

وثمن سعادة السيد أدامو محمن وزير المياه والإصحاح في النيجر المشاريع التي نفذها الهلال الأحمر القطري في بلاده والدعم الكبير الذي تقدمه المنظمات غير الحكومية في المناطق التي تعاني أوضاعا إنسانية صعبة.

وقال السيد فيصل محمد العمادي، الأمين العام بالوكالة للهلال الأحمر القطري: “إن إعادة افتتاح المكتب في جمهورية النيجر تعد خطوة إيجابية في سبيل تعزيز العلاقات الإنسانية بين قطر والنيجر، وفرصة لتقديم الخدمات والواجبات الإنسانية والتنموية لسكانها.

من جانبه، استعرض السيد أودو أمبوكا حاكم إقليم نيامي في كلمته المشاكل التي تعانيها إفريقيا، خاصة في منطقة الصحراء الكبرى، مثل نقص مساحات الأراضي القابلة للزراعة، ونقص الأمن الغذائي، والجفاف، وغيرها من تبعات التغير المناخي، وسياسات وبرامج الحكومة لمعالجتها، ونوه بإعادة افتتاح مكتب الهلال الأحمر القطري في النيجر في مثل هذا التوقيت.
