Ashghal announces four pedestrian paths lined with trees to help reduce temperature

Doha: Four streets of Qatar have been beautified with pedestrian paths, cycle tracks, and trees as part of the Supervisory Committee of Beautification’s efforts to reduce temperature.
The Supervisory Committee of Beautification of Roads and Public Places implemented pedestrian paths in various areas in Qatar with trees on both sides to reduce temperature and carbon emissions, announced Ashghal on its social media account.
These pedestrian paths are built along the streets of Al Khafji, Al Innabi, Onaiza and Hazm Al Markhiya. Ashghal has also provided QR codes to the exact locations of the pedestrian paths.
This Committee, along with several other ministries, is responsible for five major tasks, including constructing central public parks, neighbourhood parks and providing dedicated lanes for pedestrians and bicycles, etc.
The Committee’s work will contribute to enhance sustainability through minimising environmental pollution, reducing the emission of CO2 through minimized consumption, and conservation of energy resources.

وأعلنت لجنة الإشراف على تجميل الطرق والأماكن العامة، عن تنفيذ ممرات للمشاة في مناطق مختلفة في قطر مع زرع الأشجار على الجانبين لتقليل درجات الحرارة وانبعاثات الكربون.
وتم بناء ممرات المشاة هذه على طول شوارع الخفجي والعنابي وعنيزة وحزم المرخية. كما وفرت “أشغال” رموز الاستجابة السريعة للمواقع الدقيقة لمسارات المشاة.
وهذه اللجنة، إلى جانب العديد من الوزارات الأخرى، مسؤولة عن خمس مهام رئيسية، بما في ذلك إنشاء الحدائق العامة المركزية وحدائق الأحياء وتوفير ممرات مخصصة للمشاة والدراجات، إلخ.
وسيسهم عمل اللجنة في تعزيز الاستدامة من خلال تقليل التلوث البيئي، وتقليل انبعاثات ثاني أكسيد الكربون من خلال تقليل الاستهلاك، والحفاظ على موارد الطاقة.
