NMoQ Wins International Award for Sustainability Best Practices

Doha: The National Museum of Qatar (NMoQ) has received recognition in the International Beautiful Buildings Green Apple Awards 2022 organized by the Green Organization, an international non-profit environment group.
NMoQ received the award under the Public Building category for its sustainability best practices including the museums extensive green features, from planning and design through to construction management and building operations. The Beautiful Buildings Green Apple Awards is a worldwide campaign to show appreciation for sustainable buildings and to promote positive contributions made to the built environment.
Since its unveiling in 2019, NMoQ has received several sustainability accolades, becoming the first national museum in the world to receive both a LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Gold and a 4 Star GSAS (Global Sustainability Assessment System) sustainability rating. LEED is the most widely used green building rating system in the world. Certifications from LEED are globally recognized symbols of sustainability achievements, while GSAS is the first performance-based system in the MENA region developed for rating green buildings and infrastructure.

الدوحة: حاز متحف قطر الوطني على جائزة التفاحة الخضراء الدولية للمباني الجميلة لعام 2022 التي تنظمها المنظمة الخضراء، وهي مجموعة بيئية دولية غير ربحية.
وقد حصل المتحف على هذه الجائزة ضمن فئة المباني العامة لاتباعه أفضل الممارسات في مجال الاستدامة، ابتداءً من التخطيط والتصميم إلى إدارة عمليات البناء.
يُذكر أن جائزة التفاحة الخضراء الدولية للمباني الجميلة هي حملة عالمية تنظمها المنظمة الخضراء، لتكريم المباني المستدامة ولتعزيز المساهمات الإيجابية في مجال المباني.
تجدر الإشارة إلى أن متحف قطر الوطني قد نال منذ افتتاحه عام 2019، العديد من جوائز الاستدامة، ليصبح أول متحفٍ وطنيٍ في العالم يحصل على كل من شهادة الريادة في تصميمات الطاقة والبيئة /LEED/ الفئة الذهبية وشهادة أربع نجوم من نظام تقييم الاستدامة العالمي /جي ساس/.
و/LEED/ هو النظام الأكثر استخدامًا في العالم في تصنيف المباني الخضراء (الصديقة للبيئة)، ولذلك فإن شهادات /LEED/ تُعد رموزًا مُعترفا بها عالميًا للإنجازات في مجال الاستدامة، في حين أن /جي ساس/ يُعد أول نظام يعتمد على الأداء يتم تطويره لتصنيف المباني الخضراء والبنية التحتية في منطقة الشرق الأوسط وشمال إفريقيا.
