MoI ready to implement new COVID-19 containment measures if needed: Official

Doha: Brigadier Abdullah Khalifa Al-Muftah, Director of the Public Relations Department at the Ministry of Interior, affirmed that it is imperative that the citizen and the resident follow the precautionary measures against the Coronavirus to achieve the goal of reducing the number of infections. Brigadier General Al- Muftah said – in an interview with Qatar TV Thursday evening, – the precautionary measures to be followed are the ones announced by the Ministry of Health from the start, which are: social distancing, adherence to masks, maintaining Ehteraz app in operational mode, and adhering to the permitted number of people in one vehicle (no more than 4 people Families are excluded from this).

He stressed that the checkpoints did not stop during the last period, and they follow the precaution cell, and these procedures are around the clock, and during the last period we have recorded violations of not wearing a mask and the number of people allowed in the vehicle, and we count on the public’s keenness to take safety measures.

He attributed the high number of cases of Coronavirus to negligence, saying: “The citizen and resident is primarily responsible for taking precautionary measures, and he is responsible for the high and low rates, and the decline in infection numbers in the past was caused by the concern for precautionary measures.”

He added that there is some complacency in taking precautionary measures, especially in social events, and we rely on the community’s awareness in social events, and we hope that preventive measures will continue as they were at the beginning of the pandemic. The Director of the Public Relations Department at the Ministry of Interior confirmed that the ministry is ready to implement any decision or instructions issued by the Supreme Committee for Crisis Management or the Ministry of Health for the sake of the safety of all, and that the precaution cell is on the ground, and its efforts are continuing.

الدوحة: أكد العميد عبدالله خليفة المفتاح مدير إدارة العلاقات العامة بوزارة الداخلية أنه لابد من اتباع المواطن والمقيم للإجراءات الاحترازية ضد فيروس كورونا لتحقيق هدف انحسار أعداد الإصابات .

وقال العميد المفتاح – في مقابلة مع تليفزيون قطر مساء الخميس – إن الإجراءات الاحترازية الواجب اتباعها هي التي أعلنتها وزارة الصحة منذ البداية وهي: التباعد الاجتماعي والالتزام بالكمام والإبقاء على تطبيق احتراز في وضع التشغيل والالتزام بالعدد المسموح في المركبة الواحدة (لا يزيد عن 4 أشخاص ويستثنى من ذلك العائلات). 

وأضاف أنه مع انحسار أعداد الإصابات ظن البعض أن المشكلة انتهت وبالتالي بدأ بعض الناس يتهاون في اتخاذ الإجراءات الاحترازية .

وحول إجراءات الوزارة للحد من انتشار الفيروس، قال مدير إدارة العلاقات العامة بوزارة الداخلية : لدينا خلية احتراز مشكلة من بعض إدارات وزارة الداخلية وتقوم بتنسيق الإجراءات مع الوزارات المعنية بتطبيق السلامة، وهي تتلقى الاتصالات من خلال (999) لبلاغات مخالفات الإجراءات الاحترازية وتحيلها للجهات المعنية، كما تقوم بضبط أعداد الناس الذين لا يلتزمون بإجراءات الأمن والسلامة ومن ضمنها عدم ارتداء الكمامة.

وأكد أن نقاط التقتيش لم تتوقف خلال الفترة الماضية وهي تتبع خلية الاحتراز وهذه إجراءاتها على مدار الساعة وخلال الفترة الماضية سجلنا مخالفات عدم ارتداء الكمام وعدد الأشخاص المسموح بهم في المركبة ونعول على حرص الجمهور باتخاذ إجراءات السلامة .

وأرجع ارتفاع الإصابات بكورونا إلى التهاون، قائلاً: “المواطن والمقيم المسؤول الأول في اتخاذ الإجراءات الاحترازية وهو المسؤول عن ارتفاع وانخفاض النسب، وانحسار أعداد الإصابة في السابق كان سببه الحرص على الإجراءات الاحترازية”.

وأضاف أن هناك بعض التهاون في اتخاذ الإجراءات  الاحترازية وخاصة في المناسبات الاجتماعية، ونعول على وعي المجتمع في المناسبات الاجتماعية ونتمنى أن تستمر الإجراءات الوقائية كما كانت في بداية الجائحة.

وأكد مدير إدارة العلاقات العامة بوزارة الداخلية أن الوزارة جاهزة لتنفيذ أي قرار أو تعليمات تصدر من اللجنة العليا لإدارة الأزمات أو وزارة الصحة لأجل سلامة الجميع، كما أن خلية الاحتراز موجودة على الأرض، وجهودها مستمرة .
