QM, US-Qatar Business Council Sign Memorandum of Understanding

Doha: Following on from the success of the Qatar-USA 2021 Year of Culture, and in celebration of 50 years of diplomatic relations with the United States, Qatar Museums and the US-Qatar Business Council have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to continue strengthening ties and facilitating business opportunities.
Ahmad Musa Al Namla, CEO of Qatar Museums, and Sheikha Mayes bint Hamad bin Mohammed Al-Thani, Managing Director of the US Qatar Business Council Doha office, signed the MoU in Doha, Qatar.
As part of the agreement, which upholds the business pillar of the Year of Culture initiative, Qatar Museums Years of Culture and the US-Qatar Business Council will work collaboratively to develop programs to engage the Qatari and American business community. Collaboration will include the exchange of materials and publications; planning events and activities; engaging local and American businesses; and co-organizing specialized conferences, seminars, and workshops.
“The Qatar-USA 2021 Year of Culture was an immense success that both nations can be proud of. Through the signing of this MoU, Qatar Museums looks forward to working closely with the US-Qatar Business Council to build on last years legacy and to facilitate and advance new American business opportunities in Qatar through knowledge exchange and dialogue,” said Al Namla.
“The US Qatar Business Council is determined to support and enhance the extensive economic relations between Qatar and the United States. One approach to deliver this mission is by partnering with local entities. Our partnership with Qatar Museums will enable us to drive the business pillar under the Year of Culture,” added Sheikha Mayes bint Hamad bin Mohammed Al-Thani.
The US-Qatar Business Council is a non-profit, private sector organization based in Washington, DC, and Qatar, that develops, supports, and advances the bilateral business relationship between the United States and State of Qatar.
The Qatar-USA 2021 Year of Culture involved a wide-ranging mix of exhibitions, festivals, bilateral exchanges, and events in Qatar and the United States intended to enhance cultural and artistic exchange and exemplify the renewed commitment of the two nations to foster mutual understanding and promote intercultural dialogue.
HE Sheikha Al Mayassa bint Hamad Al-Thani, Chairperson of Qatar Museums, established the Years of Culture in 2012 to highlight and strengthen ties between Qatar and a new partner nation each year.

الدوحة: وقعت متاحف قطر مع مجلس الأعمال القطري الأمريكي مذكرة تفاهم بينهما تنص على الاستمرار في تعزيز الروابط وإتاحة فرص الاستثمار.
ويأتي التوقيع على هذه المذكرة، استكمالا لنجاح العام الثقافي /قطر ـ أمريكا 2021/، واحتفالا بخمسين عاما على العلاقات الدبلوماسية بين البلدين.
ووقع المذكرة كل من السيد أحمد موسى النملة، الرئيس التنفيذي في متاحف قطر والشيخة ميس بنت حمد بن محمد آل ثاني، المدير العام في مكتب قطر لـ/مجلس الأعمال القطري الأمريكي/.
وفي إطار مذكرة التفاهم التي تدعم ركيزة الأعمال في برنامج العام الثقافي، ستعمل متاحف قطر بالتعاون مع مجلس الأعمال القطري الأمريكي على تطوير برامج تشرك مجتمعي الأعمال في البلدين، حيث سيتضمن هذا التعاون تبادلا للمواد والمنشورات وتنظيما للفعاليات والأنشطة وإشراك الاستثمارات الأمريكية، والمشاركة في تنظيم المؤتمرات، والندوات وورش العمل المتخصصة.
فمن جانبه أوضح السيد أحمد النملة في تصريح له بهذه المناسبة، أن العام الثقافي /قطر ـ أمريكا 2021/، حقق نجاحا باهرا يفخر به البلدان. معربا عن تطلع متاحف قطر من خلال توقيع مذكرة التفاهم إلى التعاون مع مجلس الأعمال القطري الأمريكي للاستمرار في الأنشطة التي بدأت العام الماضي، وإتاحة فرص استثمار أمريكية في قطر من خلال الحوار وتبادل المعارف.
من جهتها، قالت الشيخة ميس بنت حمد بن محمد آل ثاني، إن مجلس الأعمال القطري الأمريكي، يسعى لدعم وتوطيد العلاقات الاقتصادية بين قطر والولايات المتحدة، مشيرة إلى أن إحدى وسائل تحقيق هذه المهمة هي من خلال الشراكة مع مؤسسات محلية.
وأضافت:” ستتيح لنا الشراكة مع متاحف قطر الفرصة لدعم ركيزة الأعمال ضمن العام الثقافي”.
يذكر أن مجلس الأعمال القطري الأمريكي هو منظمة غير ربحية تابعة للقطاع الخاص، مقره موجود في واشنطن العاصمة ودولة قطر. ويقوم المجلس على تطوير ودعم وتقوية علاقات الاستثمار الثنائية بين البلدين.
يشار ألى أن العام الثقافي /قطر ـ أمريكا 2021/، يتضمن مجموعة متنوعة من المعارض والاحتفالات والتبادلات الثنائية والفعاليات المقامة في قطر والولايات المتحدة لتقوية التبادل الثقافي والفني، وإثبات التزام البلدين بتبني التفاهم المشترك ودعم الحوار بين الثقافات.
جدير بالذكر أن سعادة الشيخة المياسة بنت حمد آل ثاني، رئيس مجلس أمناء متاحف قطر، قد أسست برنامج أعوام الثقافة في عام 2012 للاحتفاء بالروابط وتقويتها بين دولة قطر ودولة شريكة كل عام.
