Shura Council Welcomes Results of Amir’s US Visit

Doha: The Shura Council held Monday its regular weekly meeting under the chairmanship of HE Speaker of the Council Hassan bin Abdullah Al Ghanim.
At the beginning of the session, the Council praised the visit of HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani to the United States on Monday and welcomed the results of the important talks held by His Highness in Washington with HE President of the United States Joe Biden, which focused on developing and strengthening the well-established strategic cooperation relations between the two countries in various fields, and exchanging views on all regional and international developments in the context of the strategic partnership between the two countries to achieve peace and stability in the region.
In the same context, the Council valued the US President’s praise of the State of Qatar, which he described as a reliable and capable friend and partner. Also, the Council welcomed HE the US President’s direction to inform the US Congress of designating the State of Qatar as a major non-NATO ally of the US, which reflects the importance of Qatari-American relations.
After that, HE Secretary-General of the Shura Council Dr. Ahmed bin Nasser Al Fadhala read out the agenda of the session. The minutes of the previous session were approved.
The Council reviewed the report of the Internal and External Affairs Committee on a draft law regulating the ownership of real estate in the country by diplomatic and consular missions.
After extensive discussion of the report, the Council approved the aforementioned draft law as received by the esteemed Council of Ministers.

الدوحة: عقد مجلس الشورى يوم أمس، جلسته الأسبوعية العادية برئاسة سعادة السيد حسن بن عبدالله الغانم رئيس المجلس.
في بداية الجلسة، أشاد المجلس بالزيارة التي قام بها حضرة صاحب السمو الشيخ تميم بن حمد آل ثاني أمير البلاد المفدى، إلى الولايات المتحدة الأمريكية، يوم /الإثنين/ الماضي ورحب بنتائج المباحثات المهمة التي أجراها سموه في واشنطن مع فخامة الرئيس جو بايدن رئيس الولايات المتحدة الأمريكية، والتي تركزت حول تطوير علاقات التعاون الاستراتيجي الراسخة بين البلدين وتعزيزها في مختلف المجالات، إلى جانب تبادل وجهات النظر حيال مجمل التطورات الإقليمية والدولية في سياق الشراكة الاستراتيجية بين البلدين لتحقيق السلام والاستقرار في المنطقة.
في السياق ذاته، ثمن المجلس إشادة فخامة الرئيس الأمريكي بدولة قطر والتي وصفها بأنها صديق وشريك موثوق وقادر، ورحب كذلك بتوجه فخامته لإبلاغ الكونجرس الأمريكي بتصنيف دولة قطر حليفا رئيسيا للولايات المتحدة من خارج حلف /الناتو/ بما يعكس أهمية العلاقات القطرية الأمريكية.
بعد ذلك تلا سعادة الدكتور أحمد بن ناصر الفضالة الأمين العام لمجلس الشورى جدول أعمال الجلسة، وتم التصديق على محضر الجلسة السابقة.
واستعرض المجلس تقرير لجنة الشؤون الداخلية والخارجية بالمجلس، حول مشروع قانون بتنظيم تملك البعثات الدبلوماسية والقنصلية للعقارات في الدولة.
وبعد مناقشة مستفيضة للتقرير، أقر المجلس مشروع القانون المذكور كما ورد من مجلس الوزراء الموقر.
