Industrial Production Index Stabilizes in October

Doha: The Industrial Production index (IPI) in October 2021 reached to 101.8 points whereas remaining steady compared to September 2021, while it is increased by 0.7 percent, when compared to the corresponding month in 2020.

In a press release for October 2021 of industrial production index, the Planning and Statistics Authority said that this index details the growth of various industrial sectors in economy such as “Mining”, “Manufacturing”, “Electricity production”, and “Water production and desalination”. It is a short-term quantitative index that measures the changes in the volume of productions of a selected basket of industrial products over a given period with respect to that in a chosen period called the base period.

The Industrial Production Index consists of three main components: “Mining” with a relative importance of 83.6 percent, “Manufacturing” with a relative importance of 15.2 percent, “Electricity” with a relative importance of 0.7 percent, and finally “Water” with a relative importance of 0.5 percent.

The Mining index of this sector showed a decrease by 0.1 percent compared to the previous month (September 2021), as a result of the decrease in the quantities of “crude oil petroleum and natural gas” by 0.1 percent, and “Other mining and quarrying” showed a decrease by 0.3 percent. When compared to the corresponding month of the previous year (October 2020), the IPI of Mining decreased by 0.2 percent.

The Manufacturing index of this sector showed an increase by 1.1 percent compared to the previous month (September 2021), The groups showed an increase include: “Manufacture of refined petroleum products” by 12.6 percent, and “Manufacture of chemicals and chemical products” by 0.2 percent. However, a decrease recorded in Printing and reproduction of recorded media by 27.9 percent, “Manufacture of basic metals” by 6.2 percent, “Manufacture of rubber and plastics products” by 3.0 percent, “Manufacture of beverages” by 2.5 percent, “Manufacture of food products” by 2.0 percent, and “Manufacture of Cement and other non-metallic mineral products” by 1.4 percent.

On the other hand, in terms of annual change, comparing to October 2020, an increase of 5.5 percent was recorded, affected by the following groups: “Manufacture of refined petroleum products” by 43.9 percent, followed by “Manufacture of Cement & other non-metallic mineral products” by 5.4 percent, “Manufacture of beverages” by 1.7 percent, “Manufacture of food products” by 1.3 percent. However, a decrease recorded in Printing and reproduction of recorded media by 9.1 percent, “Manufacture of rubber and plastics products” by 3.3 percent, “Manufacture of basic metals” by 0.6 percent, and “Manufacture of chemicals and chemical products” by 0.1 percent.

A decrease of 9.1 percent was noticed in the production of “Electricity” between October 2021 and the previous month (September 2021), Comparing with corresponding month (October 2020), an increase of 10.3 percent was recorded.

A decrease of 0.5 percent was noticed in the production of ‘Water” between October 2021 and the previous month (September 2021). Comparing with corresponding month (October 2020), a decrease of 19.7 percent was recorded.

الدوحة: استقر مؤشر الإنتاج الصناعي بالدولة عند 101.8 نقطة، خلال شهر أكتوبر الماضي دون أي تغير عن مستواه المسجل في الشهر السابق له (سبتمبر 2021)، بينما سجل ارتفاعا طفيفا بنسبة 0.7 في المئة، على أساس سنوي، مقارنة مع (أكتوبر 2020).

ويعكس مؤشر الإنتاج الصناعي تفاصيل نمو القطاعات الاقتصادية الصناعية المختلفة مثل التعدين، الذي يمثل 83.6 في المئة من وزن المؤشر، والصناعات التحويلية، وإنتاج الكهرباء، وإنتاج وتحلية الماء، والتي تمثل 15.2 في المئة، و 0.7 في المئة، و 0.5 في المئة، على التوالي.

وأظهرت بيانات جهاز التخطيط والإحصاء ، أن قطاع التعدين سجل انخفاضا طفيفا في أكتوبر هذا العام بنحو 0.1 في المئة عن سبتمبر السابق له، ويرجع ذلك إلى الانخفاض في الكميات المنتجة في مجموعة النفط الخام والغاز الطبيعي بالنسبة ذاتها، أما مجموعة الأنشطة الأخرى للتعدين واستغلال المحاجر فقد انخفضت بنسبة 0.3 في المئة ، كما سجل القطاع انخفاضا سنويا قدره 0.2 في المئة، بالمقارنة مع أكتوبر من العام الماضي.

وفي قطاع الصناعة التحويلية، سجل المؤشر ارتفاعا قدره 1.1 في المئة بين سبتمبر وأكتوبر 2021 نتيجة ارتفاع الإنتاج في صناعة المنتجات النفطية المكررة بنسبة 12.6 في المئة، وصناعة المواد الكيميائية والمنتجات الكيميائية بنسبة 0.2 في المئة.

وسجلت بقية المجموعات انخفاضات متفاوتة كان أبرزها في مجموعة الطباعة واستنساخ وسائط الإعلام المسجلة التي تراجعت بنسبة 27.9 في المئة، ثم صناعة الفلزات القاعدية (المعادن الأساسية) بنسبة 6.2 في المئة، وصناعة منتجات المطاط واللدائن بنسبة 3 في المئة، وصناعة المشروبات بنسبة 2.5 في المئة، وصناعة المنتجات الغذائية بنسبة 2 في المئة، وصناعة الإسمنت ومنتجات المعادن اللافلزية الأخرى بنسبة 1.4 في المئة.

وعلى صعيد التغير السنوي، فقد سجل القطاع ارتفاعا قدره 5.5 في المئة عن (أكتوبر 2020)، بسبب ارتفاع الإنتاج في مجموعات صناعة المنتجات النفطية المكررة بنسبة 43.9 في المئة، وصناعة الأسمنت ومنتجات المعادن اللافلزية الأخرى بنسبة 5.4 في المئة، وصناعة المشروبات بنسبة 1.7 في المئة، وصناعة المنتجات الغذائية بنسبة 1.3 في المئة.

أما الانخفاض فقد سجل في الطباعة واستنساخ وسائط الإعلام المسجلة بنسبة 9.1 في المئة، وفي صناعة منتجات المطاط واللدائن بنسبة 3.3 في المئة، وفي صناعة الفلزات القاعدية (المعادن الأساسية) بنسبة 0.6 في المئة، وفي صناعة المواد الكيميائية والمنتجات الكيميائية بنسبة 0.1 في المئة.

وانخفض الإنتاج في قطاع الكهرباء، بين سبتمبر وأكتوبر 2021 بنسبة 9.1 في المئة، بينما ارتفع بنحو 10.3 في المئة على أساس سنوي، كما سجل قطاع الماء انخفاضا شهريا (مقارنة مع سبتمبر 2021) بنسبة 0.5 في المئة، وبنسبة 19.7 في المئة عند المقارنة مع أكتوبر 2020.
