Minister of Labour Affirms Qatar’s Commitment to Partnership and Cooperation with European Parliament

Brussels: HE the Minister of Labour Dr. Ali bin Samikh Al Marri, affirmed the State of Qatar’s commitment to strengthening partnership and cooperation with the European Parliament.
During his current visit to the Belgian capital, Brussels, HE the Minister of Labour reiterated the State of Qatar’s commitment to developing laws related to the labor market and protecting workers, and everything that would preserve the occupational health and safety of workers in various sectors and occupational disciplines, explaining that the reforms undertaken by the State of Qatar in the last years is not linked to a specific event or circumstance, but rather is the embodiment of a firm political will and the implementation of Qatar National Vision 2030.
His Excellency pointed out that the strategic vision of the State of Qatar aims to be a role model in the region in respect of workers’ rights and occupational health and safety standards.
HE the Minister of Labour met in Brussels with a number of officials in the European Parliament and European trade unions and organizations, where he held meetings with the Chairman of the Committee on Civil Liberties, Justice and Home Affairs in the European Parliament Juan Fernando Lopez Aguilar, and the Head of the Subcommittee for Human Rights in the European Parliament Maria Arena, the Member of the European Parliament for Germany Ismail Ertug, the Chair of the European Parliament’s Delegation for Relations with the Arabian Peninsula Hannah Neumann and the General Secretary of the European Trade Union Confederation Luca Vicentini.

بروكسل: أكد سعادة الدكتور علي بن صميخ المري وزير العمل، التزام دولة قطر بتعزيز الشراكة والتعاون مع البرلمان الأوروبي.
وخلال زيارته الحالية للعاصمة البلجيكية بروكسل، جدد سعادة وزير العمل التأكيد على تمسك دولة قطر بتطوير القوانين المرتبطة بسوق العمل وحماية العمال، وكل ما من شأنه الحفاظ على الصحة والسلامة المهنية للعمال، في مختلف القطاعات والتخصصات المهنية، موضحا أن الإصلاحات التي باشرتها دولة قطر في السنوات الأخيرة، ليست مرتبطة بحدث أو ظرف معين، بل هي تجسيد لإرادة سياسية ثابتة وتنفيذ لرؤية قطر الوطنية 2030.
ولفت سعادته إلى أن الرؤية الاستراتيجية لدولة قطر تهدف إلى أن تكون نموذجا يحتذى به بالمنطقة في مجال احترام حقوق العمال ومعايير الصحة والسلامة المهنية.
وكان سعادة الدكتور علي بن صميخ المري وزير العمل قد التقى في بروكسل مع عدد من المسؤولين في البرلمان الأوروبي، والمنظمات والنقابات العمالية الأوروبية، حيث عقد سعادته لقاءات مع كل من السيد خوان فرناندو لوبيز أغيلار رئيس لجنة الحريات المدنية والعدل والشؤون الداخلية في البرلمان الأوروبي، والسيدة ماريا أرينا رئيسة اللجنة الفرعية لحقوق الإنسان في البرلمان الأوروبي، والسيد اسماعيل ارتوج عضو البرلمان الأوروبي عن ألمانيا، والسيدة هانا نيومان رئيسة وفد العلاقات مع دول شبة الجزيرة العربية في البرلمان الأوروبي . والسيد لوكا فيسينتيني الأمين العام للاتحاد الأوروبي لنقابات العمال.
