Labor Ministry, Qatar Chamber, ILO Project Office Holds First Meeting

Doha: The first semi-annual meeting was held Wednesday via videoconferencing between the Ministry of Labor, Qatar Chamber (QC), and the International Labor Organization (ILO) Project Office in Doha.

During the meeting, Assistant Undersecretary of the Ministry of Labor for Labor Affairs Mohammed Hassan Al Obaidli stressed that the State of Qatar has achieved pioneering successes and achievements in the labor sector, thanks to concerted efforts, through the ministry’s continuous cooperation with local and international bodies.

The Ministry of Labor undertakes tasks according to its competencies to achieve regulation of the labor market within the country, as well as implement policies for recruitment and localization, and is keen to implement the labor law in coordination and partnership with various state institutions, Al Obaidli added.

He also referred to the challenges and impacts at all levels and sectors that faced the entire world as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic and the way the State of Qatar managed to deal with the crisis to reduce the risks and damages resulting from it by supporting the private sector in the country.

For his part, Assistant Director-General for Government Relations and Committees Affairs at QC Ali Bu Sherbak Al Mansouri said that QC is keen to hold frequent introductory seminars on labor laws for the private sector to educate business owners, pointing to the QC vital role in supporting the state’s efforts to stabilize and enhance the Qatari labor market, as well as the reforms in the labor and workers sector.

He said that QC aspires to further its cooperation with international labor organizations to reach a more competitive and knowledge-based economy in line with Qatar National Vision 2030 and the National Development Strategy.

He also noted QC’s support for the efforts made by the Ministry of Labor to regulate the Qatari labor market, as well as the cooperation between the Ministry of Labor and the ILO, and all measures aimed at developing the work environment in Qatar.

The meeting aimed to enhance partnership, cooperation, and exchange of views between the participating parties on issues related to the fields of labor in the country.

الدوحة: عقد يوم أمس – عبر تقنية الاتصال المرئي – الاجتماع الأول النصف سنوي بين وزارة العمل وغرفة قطر ومكتب منظمة العمل الدولية بالدوحة.

وخلال الاجتماع أكد السيد محمد حسن العبيدلي وكيل وزارة العمل المساعد لشؤون العمل، أن دولة قطر حققت نجاحات وإنجازات رائدة في قطاع العمل، بفضل تضافر الجهود، من خلال تعاون الوزارة المستمر مع الجهات المحلية والدولية على حد سواء.

وقال العبيدلي إن وزارة العمل تباشر مهامها وفق اختصاصاتها من أجل تحقيق التنظيم لسوق العمل داخل الدولة، كما تنفذ سياسات الاستقدام والتوطين وتحرص على تنفيذ قانون العمل، بالتنسيق والشراكة مع مؤسسات الدولة المختلفة.

كما أشار إلى التحديات والتأثيرات على كافة الأصعدة والقطاعات التي واجهت العالم بأسره جراء جائحة كورونا /كوفيد-19/، وطريقة التعامل المثالية التي تبنتها دولة قطر في إدارة الأزمة والتقليل من المخاطر والأضرار الناتجة عنها، من خلال دعم القطاع الخاص في الدولة.

من جهته، قال السيد علي بوشرباك المنصوري مساعد المدير العام للعلاقات الحكومية وشؤون اللجان في غرفة قطر، في كلمته خلال الاجتماع إن الغرفة تحرص على عقد الندوات التعريفية بقوانين العمل للقطاع الخاص باستمرار، كما تحرص على توعية أصحاب الأعمال، لافتاً إلى الدور الحيوي الذي تقوم به الغرفة في دعم جهود الدولة في تحقيق استقرار سوق العمل القطرية وتعزيزها وكذلك الإصلاحات في قطاع العمل والعمال.

وقال إن غرفة قطر تطمح لمزيد من التعاون مع منظمات العمل الدولية بهدف الوصول إلى اقتصاد أكثر تنافسية وقائم على المعرفة تماشيا مع رؤية قطر الوطنية 2030 واستراتيجية التنمية الوطنية.

ونوه كذلك بدعم غرفة قطر للجهود التي تقوم بها وزارة العمل في سبيل تنظيم سوق العمل القطرية، مثلما تدعم أيضا التعاون المشترك مع وزارة العمل ومنظمة العمل الدولية، وجميع الجهود والإجراءات التي تستهدف تطوير بيئة العمل في قطر.

ويهدف الاجتماع إلى تعزيز الشراكة والتعاون وتبادل وجهات النظر بين الجهات المشاركة، في المواضيع المتعلقة بمجالات العمل في الدولة.
