Qatar, Egypt Sign Agreements to Supply Fuel and Basic Building Materials for Gaza

Oslo: The State of Qatar participated in the ministerial meeting of the Ad Hoc Liaison Committee for Coordination of International Aid to the Palestinian People (AHLC), which was held in the Norwegian capital, Oslo.
The State of Qatar was represented in the meeting by HE Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Sultan bin Saad Al Muraikhi.
In a speech before the meeting, His Excellency said that the State of Qatar, based on its principles of establishing peace and security at the regional and international levels, is working with various parties of the international community to reach a just solution that achieves peace and security in the State of Palestine, and at the same time works to provide everything necessary for a decent life for the brotherly Palestinian people, and cooperates in this regard on an ongoing basis with the United Nations organizations, the European Union and various international supporters and donors.
His Excellency pointed out that the State of Qatar has been providing many financial grants, humanitarian support projects and urgent relief intervention, in order to improve the humanitarian, economic and development situation of the Palestinian people.
His Excellency added that this constituted an important factor in improving living conditions, especially in Gaza Strip, where the total amount provided reached more than USD 1.5 billion, allocated to the sectors of health, education, housing, industry, agriculture, infrastructure projects, roads and buildings.
HE the Minister announced that the State of Qatar had signed agreements with the Arab Republic of Egypt to supply fuel and basic building materials for Gaza Strip, stressing that these joint cooperative efforts would contribute to improving living conditions.
His Excellency noted the importance of the current calm understandings, facilitating the movement of travelers through Rafah Border Crossing, and communication between all parties to calm the situation in the region.

مثل دولة قطر في اللقاء، سعادة السيد سلطان بن سعد المريخي وزير الدولة للشؤون الخارجية.
وقال سعادته في كلمة أمام اللقاء، إن دولة قطر ومن منطلق مبادئها في إحلال السلم والأمن على المستوى الإقليمي والدولي تعمل مع مختلف أطراف المجتمع الدولي للوصول إلى حل عادل يحقق السلام والأمن في دولة فلسطين الشقيقة، وفي الوقت نفسه تعمل لتقديم كل ما يلزم لتوفير مقومات الحياة الكريمة للشعب الفلسطيني الشقيق، وتتعاون بهذا الخصوص وبشكل متواصل مع منظمات الأمم المتحدة والاتحاد الأوروبي ومختلف الجهات الدولية الداعمة والمانحة.
ولفت إلى أن دولة قطر دأبت على تقديم العديد من المنح المالية ومشاريع الدعم الإنساني والتدخل الإغاثي العاجل، بغية تحسين الوضع الإنساني والاقتصادي والتنموي للشعب الفلسطيني الشقيق.
وأضاف “هذا ما شكل عاملا مهما من عوامل تحسين الظروف الحياتية، لا سيما في قطاع غزة، حيث بلغ إجمالي ما تم تقديمه أكثر من مليار ونصف مليار دولار أمريكي، خصصت لقطاعات الصحة والتعليم والإسكان والصناعة والزراعة ومشاريع البنية التحتية والطرق والأبنية”.
وأعلن سعادة وزير الدولة للشؤون الخارجية عن توقيع دولة قطر لاتفاقيات مع جمهورية مصر العربية الشقيقة، لتوريد الوقود ومواد البناء الأساسية لصالح قطاع غزة، مؤكدا أن هذه الجهود التعاونية المشتركة من شأنها أن تساهم في تحسين الظروف المعيشية.
ونوه سعادته بأهمية تفاهمات التهدئة الحالية، وتسهيل حركة المسافرين عبر معبر رفح البري، والتواصل بين كافة الأطراف لتهدئة الأوضاع في المنطقة.
