The most prominent decisions of the weekly cabinet meeting

Doha: HE the Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa bin Abdulaziz Al-Thani chaired the Cabinet’s regular meeting held at its seat at the Amiri Diwan on Wednesday.

Following the meeting, HE the Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Sulaiti issued the following statement:

At the outset of the meeting, the Cabinet was briefed by HE the Minister of Public Health on the latest developments in efforts to contain the spread of COVID-19, and affirmed the continuation of the precautionary measures underway to combat the pandemic.

The Cabinet then considered the topics listed on its agenda as follows:

First – The Cabinet reviewed the recommendations of the Shura Council on the situation of Qatar University, and the university’s statement, and took the appropriate decision in this regard.

Second – The approval of a draft decision of the Minister of Interior to amend security and safety measures and requirements of Law No. (25) of 2015 regarding civil defense.

Third – The Cabinet took the necessary measures to ratify an agreement on the promotion and protection of mutual investments between the government of the State of Qatar and the government of the Republic of Kenya.

Fourth – The approval of a draft memorandum of understanding between the government of the State of Qatar and the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) to manage Qatar-ICAO Developing Countries Scholarship Program.

Fifth – The Cabinet reviewed a report on the official opening of the State of Qatar’s pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai, and took the appropriate decision in this regard.

الدوحة: ترأس معالي الشيخ خالد بن خليفة بن عبدالعزيز آل ثاني، رئيس مجلس الوزراء ووزير الداخلية، الاجتماع العادي الذي عقده المجلس ظهر يوم أمس بمقره في الديوان الأميري.

وعقب الاجتماع أدلى سعادة السيد/ محمد بن عبدالله السليطي، وزير الدولة لشؤون مجلس الوزراء بما يلي:

في بداية الاجتماع استمع المجلس إلى الشرح الذي قدمته سعادة وزير الصحة العامة حول آخر المستجدات والتطورات للحد من انتشار فيروس كورونا (كوفيد-19)، وأكد المجلس على استمرار العمل بما تم اتخاذه من إجراءات وتدابير احترازية في سبيل مكافحة هذا الوباء.

وبعد ذلك نظر مجلس الوزراء في الموضوعات المدرجة على جدول الأعمال على النحو التالي:

أولاً- اطلع مجلس الوزراء على توصيات مجلس الشورى حول أوضاع جامعة قطر، وإفادة الجامعة في هذا الصدد، واتخذ بشأنها القرار المناسب.

ثانياً- الموافقة على مشروع قرار وزير الداخلية بتعديل جدول تدابير واشتراطات الأمن والسلامة المرفق بالقانون رقم (25) لسنة 2015 بشأن الدفاع المدني.

ثالثاً- اتخاذ الإجراءات اللازمة للتصديق على اتفاقية بشأن تشجيع وحماية الاستثمارات المتبادلة بين حكومة دولة قطر وحكومة جمهورية كينيا.

رابعاً- الموافقة على مشروع مذكرة تفاهم بين حكومة دولة قطر ومنظمة الطيران المدني الدولي “إيكاو” لإدارة برنامج المنح الدراسية للبلدان النامية.

خامساً- استعرض مجلس الوزراء تقريراً حول الافتتاح الرسمي لجناح دولة قطر في فعاليات معرض اكسبو 2020 دبي، واتخذ بشأنه القرار المناسب.
