Turkish presidential spokesperson Praises Solid Relations Between his Country and Qatar

Doha: Turkish presidential spokesperson Ibrahim Kalin praised the distinguished and solid relations between Turkey and the State of Qatar in various fields, thanks to the keenness of the leadership of the two countries to develop them to serve the interests of the Qatari and Turkish peoples.
Kalin stated that the Republic of Turkey and the State of Qatar have strong relations and a solid partnership in various fields, praising the comprehensive development that the State of Qatar is witnessing at various levels.
This came during a lecture by the Turkish presidential spokesperson, entitled “Islam and the West”, at Ibn Khaldun Center for Humanities and Social Sciences at Qatar University, in the presence of a number of university leaders, faculty members and those interested, and a group of students.
During the lecture, the Turkish official spoke about the relations between Islam and the West, their historical roots and future prospects, calling for managing these relations according to the approach of dialogue and understanding rather than conflict and skepticism.
He said that we have to be smart to be able to manage the relationship with the other and to search for the most effective means of communicating and dialogue with him, and to erase the negative effects of the propaganda against us.
Kalin reviewed the foundations established by Islam to build a relationship with the other, the experience of Islamic civilization in which all religions lived in peace and harmony, the developments that occurred in the wake of the European Renaissance and the consequences of western denial of the role of Muslim civilization in that renaissance.
He believed that many of the political problems that occur today between the West and Islam are due to each side’s lack of understanding of the other, stressing the need for a common understanding of each party’s culture away from preconceptions and ready-made judgments, to build trust and dialogue instead of conflict and skepticism.
He also criticized the deliberate distortion of Islam and Muslims by some media and cultural media in the West, and said that confronting this distortion requires a scientific and cognitive effort to study the West and respond with a sober scientific approach, focusing on the common points of convergence instead of exaggerating differences and fueling conflicts that do not serve both sides.
He explained that Muslims have to work in an organized and conscious manner to change the negative image and not dissolve into the other or conflict with it, but rather dialogue, cooperate and coexist with it, as the moderate view is that based on dialogue and common understanding, and that each party builds a true picture of the reality of the experience of the other and not through misleading propaganda.

وقال السيد قالن إن الجمهورية التركية ودولة قطر ترتبطان بعلاقات قوية وشراكة راسخة في مختلف المجالات.. مشيدا بالتطور الشامل الذي تشهده دولة قطر على مختلف الأصعدة.
جاء ذلك خلال محاضرة للمتحدث باسم الرئاسة التركية بعنوان: “الإسلام والغرب”، في مركز ابن خلدون للعلوم الاجتماعية والإنسانية بجامعة قطر، بحضور عدد من قيادات الجامعة، وأعضاء هيئة التدريس والمهتمين، وجمع من الطلبة.
وتحدث المسؤول التركي، خلال المحاضرة، عن العلاقات بين الإسلام والغرب وجذورها التاريخية وآفاقها المستقبلية، داعيا إلى إدارة هذه العلاقات وفق منهج الحوار والتفاهم بدل الصراع والتشكيك.
وقال: “علينا أن نكون أذكياء لنستطيع إدارة العلاقة مع الآخر والبحث عن أكثر الوسائل نجاعة في التواصل والحوار معه، ومحو الآثار السلبية للدعاية المضادة لنا”.
وعرض السيد قالن للأسس التي رسخها الإسلام لبناء علاقة مع الآخر، وتجربة الحضارة الإسلامية التي عاش في كنفها أهل الأديان جميعا بسلام ووئام، والتطورات التي حدثت في أعقاب النهضة الأوروبية وتبعات التنكر الغربي لدور حضارة المسلمين في تلك النهضة.
ورأى أن الكثير من المشكلات السياسية التي تحدث اليوم بين الغرب والإسلام مردها إلى عدم فهم كل طرف للآخر، مؤكدا على ضرورة الفهم المشترك لثقافة كل طرف بعيدا عن النظرة المسبقة والأحكام الجاهزة، لبناء الثقة والحوار بدلا من الصراع والتشكيك.
كما انتقد التشويه المتعمد للإسلام والمسلمين من قبل بعض وسائل الإعلام ووسائط الثقافة في الغرب، وقال إن مواجهة هذا التشويه تتطلب جهدا علميا ومعرفيا لدراسة الغرب والرد بمنهج علمي رصين، مع التركيز على المشتركات ونقاط التلاقي بدلا من تضخيم الخلافات وتأجيج الصراعات التي لا تخدم الجانبين.
وأوضح أن من الواجب على المسلمين العمل بشكل منظم وواع على تغيير الصورة السلبية وعدم الذوبان في الآخر أو الصراع معه، بل التحاور والتعاون والتعايش الحضاري “فالنظرة المعتدلة هي تلك القائمة على الحوار والتفاهم المشترك، وأن يبني كل طرف صورة حقيقية من واقع التجربة عن الآخر وليس من خلال الدعاية المضللة”.
