250 tonnes of frozen meat with forged expiry date seized

Doha: The Ministry of Municipality, represented by the central inspection team at the office of the Assistant Undersecretary for Municipal Affairs, in coordination with a municipality and the Ministry of Commerce and Industry (the Consumer Protection Department), seized 250 tons of frozen meat whose validity dates had been tampered with.

The Ministry of Municipality said in a statement that its inspection team received information that a meat production factory in the industrial area had extended the validity of frozen meat in favor of one of the companies operating in the industry, and that after verifying the accuracy of the information and specifying the name and location of both the factory and the company, an inspection campaign was carried out and seized samples of the meat in question. The findings were conclusive that the factory had removed the packaging and the original expiry dates, which were close to expiring after several days, and repacked it and extended its validity for a whole year, and then stored it in one of the logistic warehouses.

The Ministry of Municipality confirmed that, in the context of its concern for the health of citizens and residents, it will not tolerate any violations related to food products, whether through fraud or the promotion of spoiled food or other violations. Provide them to consumers, by providing advice, guidance and awareness of the sound health requirements to be followed.

الدوحة: تمكنت وزارة البلدية ممثلة بفريق التفتيش المركزي بمكتب الوكيل المساعد لشؤون البلديات بالتنسيق مع إحدى البلديات ووزارة التجارة والصناعة (إدارة حماية المستهلك) من ضبط 250 طن لحوم مجمدة تم التلاعب بتواريخ صلاحيتها.

وذكرت وزارة البلدية في بيان أن معلومات قد وردت لأعضاء فريق التفتيش بقيام أحد مصانع إنتاج اللحوم بالمنطقة الصناعية بتمديد صلاحية اللحوم المجمدة لصالح إحدى الشركات العاملة بتجارة اللحوم، وبعد التأكد من صحة المعلومة وتحديد اسم وموقع كل من المصنع والشركة، تم تنفيذ حملة تفتيشية على المصنع وضبط عينات من اللحوم محل الشكوى، حيث تبين قيام المصنع بنزع التغليف الخاص باللحوم وإزالة تواريخ الصلاحية الأصلية التي قاربت على الانتهاء بعد عدة أيام وإعادة تعبئتها وتمديد صلاحيتها لمدة عام كامل، ومن ثم تخزينها بأحد المخازن اللوجستية بالدولة.

وأوضحت الدكتورة نوال محمد عبدالله رئيس فريق التفتيش المركزي بمكتب الوكيل المساعد لشؤون البلديات بأنه تم تحرير محضر ضبط مخالفة بالواقعة والتحفظ على كميات اللحوم، تمهيدا لإتلافها وإخطار الجهات الأمنية بوزارة الداخلية لاستكمال باقي الإجراءات لتحويل المسؤولين عن المخالفة لجهات التحقيق.

وأكدت وزارة البلدية أنه في إطار حرصها على صحة المواطنين والمقيمين، لن تتهاون إزاء أي مخالفات تتعلق بالمواد الغذائية سواء من خلال الغش أو ترويج أغذية فاسدة أو غيرها من المخالفات، وفي نفس الوقت تقدم الوزارة كل الدعم للمنشآت الغذائية بمختلف أنواعها لمعاونتها في رفع مستوى خدماتها التي تقدمها للمستهلكين، وذلك من خلال تقديم النصح والإرشاد والتوعية بالاشتراطات الصحية السليمة الواجب اتباعها.
