Minister of Justice Praises the Shura Council’s Election Process

Doha: HE the Minister of Justice Masoud bin Mohammed Al Ameri praised the election process and described the organization and voter turnouts for today’s Shura Council elections as fantastic.

In exclusive remarks made to Qatar News Agency (QNA), His Excellency said that today will be a special one in the history of the State of Qatar. He added that the day embodies the wise will and sound vision of HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani in enhancing the rule of law and state institutions, based on the importance that His Highness attaches to strengthening the traditions of the Qatari Shura and developing the legislative process with a broader participation of citizens, in a manner that ensures the participation of all in the process of development and modernization led by His Highness.

His Excellency extended his sincere congratulations and blessings to HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani, HH the Deputy Amir Sheikh Abdullah bin Hamad Al-Thani, and to the honorable people of Qatar, for this historic achievement, saying it will be one of the pillars of just governance, and will strengthen the Qatari system, making democracy rooted in the structure of our society, for which wise leadership of Qatar laid the legal foundations under the permanent constitution of the state issued in 2004.

His Excellency also congratulated HE the Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa bin Abdulaziz Al-Thani, the Chairman of the Supreme Committee for the Shura Council Elections, for the success of the electoral process, including preparing the necessary laws for it, and the formation of supervisory committees and executive committees concerned with elections, in addition to proposing a timetable for the election process for council members, and preparing an integrated national legal system that contributed to organizing the electoral process with ease and transparency.

His Excellency Mr. Masoud bin Mohammed Al Ameri, Minister of Justice, said: “What we saw of popular demand for registration for election and nomination, and the diversity of experiences and competencies that were submitted to the councils membership reflects the aspirations to enrich the elected council and provide it with a selection of our cadres of different ages and scientific and professional levels, which It will build on the donations and contributions made by the previous members of the Council to our national development process.”

His Excellency extended his thanks and gratitude to the members of the former Shura Council, which, over the course of a process that lasted nearly 50 years, had great successes during the previous sessions, noting that the success acts as a solid foundation for the elected Council and the beginning of a new phase for the broader popular participation in legislation, oversight and follow-up of various development plans, expressing his wishes for success for the new members who will be chosen for the upcoming session.

After casting his vote, the Minister expressed his satisfaction with the conduct of the electoral process and the voter turnout, expressing his thanks to the authorities supervising this process, noting that the Ministry of Justice harnessed all its legal and human capabilities for the success of the election process.

الدوحة: أشاد سعادة السيد مسعود بن محمد العامري، وزير العدل، بالأجواء الانتخابية وروعة التنظيم ونسب إقبال المواطنين التي شهدتها انتخابات مجلس الشورى القطري التي جرت يوم الأمس.

وقال سعادته في تصريح خاص لوكالة الأنباء القطرية /قنا/ :” إن لهذا اليوم مكانته الخاصة في تاريخ دولة قطر، كونه يجسد الإرادة الحكيمة والرؤية السديدة لحضرة صاحب السمو الشيخ تميم بن حمد آل ثاني، أمير البلاد المفدى،حفظه الله ورعاه،والتي تستهدف ترسيخ بناء دولة القانون والمؤسسات انطلاقا من الأهمية التي يوليها سموه لتعزيز تقاليد الشورى القطرية وتطوير عملية التشريع بمشاركة أوسع من المواطنين، وبما يكفل مشاركة الجميع في مسيرة التنمية والتطوير والتحديث التي يقودها سموه”.

وتقدم سعادته بخالص التهاني والتبريكات إلى مقام حضرة صاحب السمو الشيخ تميم بن حمد آل ثاني، أمير البلاد المفدى، وإلى سمو الشيخ عبدالله بن حمد آل ثاني نائب الأمير، وإلى الشعب القطري الكريم، بهذا الانجاز التاريخي الذي سيكون ركيزة من ركائز الحكم العادل، وسيعزز نظامنا الديمقراطي الراسخ والمتجذر في بنية مجتمعنا الذي وضعت له قيادتنا الرشيدة الأسس القانونية بموجب الدستور الدائم للدولة الصادر عام 2004.

وهنأ سعادته معالي الشيخ خالد بن خليفة بن عبدالعزيز آل ثاني، رئيس مجلس الوزراء ووزير الداخلية، رئيس اللجنة العليا لانتخابات مجلس الشورى، على النجاح في التنظيم المحكم والإعداد المتكامل للعملية الانتخابية بما في ذلك إعداد القوانين اللازمة للعملية الانتخابية،وتشكيل اللجان الإشرافية واللجان التنفيذية المعنية بالانتخابات، واقتراح البرنامج الزمني لعملية انتخاب أعضاء المجلس، وإعداد منظومة قانونية قطرية متكاملة أسهمت في تنظيم العملية الانتخابية بيسر وسهولة وشفافية.

وقال سعادة السيد مسعود بن محمد العامري، وزير العدل :” إن ما رأيناه من إقبال شعبي على التسجيل للانتخاب والترشيح، وما لمسناه من تنوع للخبرات والكفاءات الي تقدمت لعضوية المجلس يعكس التطلعات لإثراء المجلس المنتخب ورفده بنخبة من كوادرنا من مختلف الأعمار والمستويات العلمية والمهنية، التي ستبني على ما قدمه الأعضاء السابقون في المجلس من عطاء وإسهام في مسيرة تنميتنا الوطنية”.

وتقدم سعادته بالشكر والعرفان بالجميل لأعضاء مجلس الشورى السابق الذي حقق وعلى مـدى مسيرة استمرت نحو خمسين عاما، نـجـاحات كـبيـرة خـلال دورات المجلس السابقة، ما يعد أساسا راسخا للمجلس المنتخب وبداية لمرحلة جديدة للمشاركة الشعبية الأوسع في التشريع والرقابة ومتابعة خطط التنمية المختلفة ، معبرا عن تمنياته بالتوفيق والسداد للأعضاء الجدد الذين سيتم اختيارهم خلال هذه الدورة، وسيكونون دون شك عونا وسندا في كل ما من شأنه تنمية وتقدم وازدهار وطننا الغالي.

وأعرب سعادة الوزير عقب الإدلاء بصوته عن الارتياح لسير العملية الانتخابية وحجم الإقبال الذي شهدته من المواطنين، معربا عن شكره للجهات المشرفة على هذه العملية، مشيرا إلى أن وزارة العدل سخرت كافة إمكانياتها القانونية والبشرية في سبيل إنجاح سير عملية الانتخابات.
