MME Calls for Removal of Electoral Advertisements within 3 Days from End of Elections

Doha: The Ministry of Municipality and Environment (MME) called on advertising companies and candidates who obtained advertising licenses for electoral campaigns, to remove election advertising boards within three days of the end of the electoral process, in implementation of the Shura Council election system law.
In a statement, the ministry noted that in accordance with Article 28 of the Shura Council election system law, the advertisement period for electoral campaigns ends with the end of the electoral process, provided that the removal of billboards begins within three days from the date of the end of the poll and not the end of the license period for advertisement.
Article 28 of Law No. 6 of 2021 promulgating the Shura Council election system law states that the candidate must remove advertisements, posters, election flyers and any means of electoral propaganda within three days from the date of the end of the electoral process. The MME may remove it at the candidate’s expense after being warned about it within the 24 hours following the warning, and it may also remove any advertisement that violates the terms of the license at his expense after being warned to correct the violation, within the 24 hours following the warning.
The MME, represented by all the municipalities affiliated to the Municipal Affairs Sector, granted 355 advertisement licenses to all candidates in all electoral districts, with a total of 2,169 billboards distributed across all municipalities in the country.

الدوحة: دعت وزارة البلدية والبيئة شركات الدعاية والإعلان والمرشحين الحاصلين على تراخيص الإعلان للدعاية الانتخابية، الالتزام بإزالة لوحات الدعاية الانتخابية خلال ثلاثة أيام من انتهاء العملية الانتخابية، وذلك تطبيقا لقانون نظام انتخاب مجلس الشورى.
ونوهت الوزارة في بيان ، بأنه طبق للمادة /28/ من قانون نظام انتخاب مجلس الشورى، فإن فترة الإعلان للدعاية الانتخابية تنتهي بانتهاء العملية الانتخابية، على أن تبدأ إزالة اللوحات الإعلانية خلال ثلاثة أيام من تاريخ انتهاء الاقتراع، ولا يطبق عليها الإزالة بانتهاء فترة الترخيص للإعلان.
و تنص المادة /28/ من القانون رقم /6/ لسنة 2021م بإصدار قانون نظام انتخاب مجلس الشورى على : “يجب على المرشح إزالة الإعلانات والملصقات والنشرات الانتخابية وأي وسيلة من وسائل الدعاية الانتخابية خلال ثلاثة أيام من تاريخ انتهاء العملية الانتخابية” ، وللجهة المختصة في وزارة البلدية والبيئة، إزالتها على نفقة المرشح بعد إنذاره بذلك خلال الأربع والعشرين ساعة التالية للإنذار، كما يجوز لها إزالة أي إعلان يخالف شروط الترخيص على نفقته بعد إنذاره بتصحيح المخالفة، وذلك خلال الأربع والعشرين ساعة التالية للإنذار”.
وكانت وزارة البلدية والبيئة ممثلة بجميع البلديات التابعة لقطاع شؤون البلديات قد منحت، 355 رخصة إعلان لجميع المرشحين بجميع الدوائر الانتخابية بمجموع /2169/ لوحة إعلانية موزعة على جميع البلديات بالدولة.
