Qatar Participates in G-20 Meeting on Afghanistan

New York: The State of Qatar participated in the Group of Twenty’s (G-20) meeting on Afghanistan at the level of foreign ministers, which was held via video conference on the sidelines of the 76th Session of the UN General Assembly.
The State of Qatar was represented in the meeting by HE the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani.
His Excellency affirmed in his speech during the meeting that the State of Qatar is showing full solidarity with the people of Afghanistan, and is supporting efforts to achieve stability, security, peace, and development in the country.
His Excellency noted that the State of Qatar highlighted the vital role Afghan women will play in the country’s development, in addition to the right of Afghan girls to education. His Excellency also noted that the State of Qatar called on the transitional government to take the example of many Islamic countries, including Qatar itself, where women practice their rights fully and constructively.
His Excellency said that dealing with the international community is the only way forward.
His Excellency added that the State of Qatar stressed the importance of preventing individuals and groups from using Afghan land to threaten the security of any other country, and that there is a need to take into consideration the concerns of Afghanistan’s neighboring countries.
His Excellency said when concluding his remarks that the State of Qatar is deeply committed to working closely with Afghan leaders and all members of the international community, including the G-20, to enhance agreement and assist in the establishment of peace in Afghanistan. His Excellency also said that Qatar will use all its diplomatic tools, humanitarian and developmental aid, to help the Afghan people realize their legitimate aspirations.

نيويورك: شاركت دولة قطر يوم الأمس في اجتماع مجموعة العشرين حول أفغانستان على مستوى وزراء الخارجية، والذي عقد عبر تقنية الاتصال المرئي على هامش أعمال الدورة الـ 76 للجمعية العامة للأمم المتحدة بنيويورك.
مثل دولة قطر في الاجتماع سعادة الشيخ محمد بن عبدالرحمن آل ثاني، نائب رئيس مجلس الوزراء وزير الخارجية.
وأكد سعادته في كلمته أمام الاجتماع أن دولة قطر تتضامن بشكل كامل مع شعب أفغانستان، وتدعم جهود تحقيق الاستقرار والأمن والسلام والتنمية في البلاد.
ولفت سعادته إلى أن دولة قطر أكدت على الدور الحيوي للمرأة الأفغانية في تنمية أفغانستان وحق الفتيات في الالتحاق بالتعليم، كما طالبت الحكومة الانتقالية بأن تأخذ أمثلة من العديد من الدول الإسلامية ، بما في ذلك دولة قطر ، حيث تمارس المرأة حقوقها بشكل كامل وبناء.
وأشار سعادته إلى أن التعامل مع المجتمع الدولي هو السبيل الوحيد للمضي قدماً.
وأضاف أن دولة قطر أكدت على ضرورة منع الأفراد أو الجماعات من استخدام الأراضي الأفغانية لتهديد أمن أي دولة أخرى، وأن هناك حاجة لمراعاة مخاوف الدول المجاورة لأفغانستان.
وقال سعادته ، في ختام كلمته، إن دولة قطر ملتزمة التزاماً عميقاً بالعمل عن كثب مع القادة الأفغان من كافة الأطراف والمجتمع الدولي، بما في ذلك مجموعة العشرين والأمم المتحدة، لتعزيز التوافق والمساعدة في تحقيق السلام في أفغانستان، وأنها ستستخدم أدواتها الدبلوماسية ومساعداتها الإنسانية والإنمائية لمساعدة شعب أفغانستان في تحقيق تطلعاته المشروعة.
