QRCS Starts Phase 3 of Support Education in Remote Areas of Afghanistan Project

Kabul: Qatar Red Crescent Society (QRCS) has inaugurated the delivery of educational aid to schools in Ghor Province, Afghanistan, as part of Phase 3 of the project to support education in remote areas of Afghanistan, at a total cost of $343,521, equivalent to about QR 1.375 million.

The project involved providing 480 double seats and desks, 49 classroom tents, 955 school bags with stationery, and 520 kits of teaching aids for five schools. Also, a teacher training center was constructed and furnished in the capital of Ghor. Moreover, a teacher training team was created, and teachers in Ghor and Kapisa Provinces received capacity-building training to improve their teaching performance and enhance the quality of education.

This phase is estimated to benefit 955 students and 116 teachers in Firuzkoh, Ghor. It was executed in partnership with the Afghan Welfare Society, the Ministry of Educations offices in Ghor and Kapisa, the provincial governments, and local community leaders.

Governor of Ghor Abdul-Zahir Faidzadah thanked Qatar, QRCS, and the Afghan Welfare Society. He said QRCS was one of the most active international humanitarian providers in Ghor. He commended the projects mechanism of delivery of aid to the eligible beneficiaries in person, even though the schools were remote and inaccessible.

Through this project, QRCS aims to support education in remote areas of Afghanistan, as it is the gateway to development and the pillar of stability for any society, thus improving its environment there and increasing the number of male and female students at all levels of education, in light of the weakness of this sector in Afghanistan in terms of infrastructure, a deficit in basic educational requirements, and many problems and challenges, as only 50 percent of school-age children enroll in education, in addition to the acute shortage of schools, teachers and textbooks.

كابول: بدأ الهلال الأحمر القطري عملية تسليم المواد والمساعدات التعليمية للمدارس المستهدفة في ولاية /غور/ الأفغانية ، ضمن أنشطة وتدخلات المرحلة الثالثة من مشروعه لـ /دعم التعليم في المناطق النائية بأفغانستان/، وذلك بتكلفة تبلغ أكثر من 376 ألف دولار أمريكي، ما يعادل حوالي مليون و375 ريالا قطريا.

وشملت أنشطة المشروع حتى الآن ، توفير 480 مقعداً وطاولة دراسية مزدوجة، و49 خيمة لاستخدامها كفصول دراسية، و955 حزمة مواد دراسية مثل الحقائب والكراسات والأقلام للطلاب والطالبات، و520 حزمة وسائل إيضاحية للتدريس في 5 مدارس، بالإضافة إلى بناء وتأثيث قاعة تدريب للمعلمين والمعلمات في مركز ولاية غور، وتدريب فريق إعداد مدربين للمعلمين والمعلمات وبناء قدراتهم وتحسين أداءهم التدريسي ورفع جودة العملية التعليمية على مستوى ولايتي /غور/ و/كابيسا/ .

ويبلغ عدد المستفيدين من المرحلة الثالثة 955 طالبا وطالبة و116 معلماً ومعلمة في مركز / فيروزكوه / بولاية غور، علما أنه يجري تنفيذ المشروع بالشراكة مع الجمعية الخيرية الأفغانية، ومكاتب وزارة المعارف الأفغانية في الولايتين المذكورتين والسلطات وقيادات المجتمع المحلي المستفيد .

وثمن السيد عبد الظاهر فيض زاده حاكم ولاية غور ، دور الهلال الأحمر القطري والجمعية الخيرية الأفغانية لتنفيذهما هذا المشروع ، واعتبر الهلال الأحمر القطري من أولى المؤسسات العالمية العاملة في ولاية غور في مجالات إنسانية عديدة وفي مثل هذه الظروف الراهنة في أفغانستان .

كما أثنى على آلية تنفيذ المشروع بتقديم المساعدات والحرص على تسليمها لمستحقيها رغم بعد المدارس وصعوبة الوصول إليها .

ويهدف الهلال الأحمر القطري من هذا المشروع إلى دعم التعليم بالمناطق النائية في أفغانستان ، باعتباره بوابة التنمية وعماد الاستقرار أي مجتمع ، وبالتالي تحسين بيئته هناك وزيادة عدد الملتحقين من الطلاب والطالبات بجميع المراحل الدراسية ، في ظل ما يعانيه هذا القطاع في أفغانستان من ضعف في البنية التحتية وعجز في المتطلبات التعليمية الأساسية ومشاكل وتحديات عديدة ، إذ أن 50 بالمائة فقط من الأطفال في سن الدراسة يلتحقون بالتعليم ، فضلا عن النقص الحاد في أعداد المدارس والمعلمين والكتب الدراسية.
