Are there intentions to exempt the vaccinated passengers from Coronavirus testing

Doha: Dr. Soha Al Bayat, head of the Department of Health Protection and Communicable Disease Control in the Ministry of Public Health, confirmed that each country makes its decisions on the pending procedures of Covid-19 depending on the internal conditions and information available to them.

“Is there an intention to exempt vaccinated travellers from PCR testing?” she said during the social distance program on Qatar TV on Monday evening. Some countries exempted the vaccinated travellers from PCR on condition of proving that they received the vaccine, with arriving 14 days after the second dose, and there are countries, including Qatar, that do not exempt vaccinated travellers from Coronavirus testing.

She explained that the goal of not exempting those coming to Qatar, whether citizens, residents or visitors, from Covid-19 testing, although quarantine was exempted, is that despite the efficiency of the vaccines used in Qatar, evidenced by the low number of infections, still, no one can say that protection from infection reaches 100%.

She added: We do not know whether the returning vaccinated traveller is fortified or does he have enough immunity or is he infected and does not know and has no symptoms, the way we know is by examination to protect him and other passengers on the plane and his family when he returns to them in Qatar.

Dr. Soha Al Bayat stressed the efficiency of the vaccines used in Qatar, also praising the community awareness, the cooperation of citizens and residents, the demand for vaccination and the solidarity of all institutions, which contributed to reaching this stage of the reduction of Covid-19 infections in the country.

She called on those who did not receive the vaccine to take the vaccine in order for Qatar to be one of the first countries to control the epidemic, saying that 80% must get vaccination in order to reduce the number of infections more, expecting to reach this percentage before the end of the year, explaining that the arrival of vaccines in all countries of the world depends on industrialization and the arrival of more vaccines in order to vaccinate more.

On the latest developments in the national vaccination program against Coronavirus after talking about the closure of some of the centers that have been temporarily opened and will these centers continue or will they be closed and rely on health centers?

Dr. Soha Al Bayat said: When the Qatar National Convention Center or the Drive-in Vaccination Centre was established in Lusail and Al Wakra, was just a temporary measure with the specific goal of giving a boost to vaccinations in order to reach a specific goal, including the education sector, as there were certain sectors that had to be provided without congestion and more appointments.

She noted that the Lusail Center was closed two days ago and that the Al Wakra Center will be closed the day after tomorrow and the Qatar Convention Center will be closed, and I assure people that the percentage of vaccinations will not decrease, which means that the capacity will remain at the same pace.

She noted that “the recently opened Qatar Business and Industry Vaccination Center is eligible for 25,000 doses per day in addition to 27 primary care centers, we will continue at about 40,000 paces”.

Ministries and sectors have contributed to the vaccination campaign, such as the Ministry of Defence, the Ministry of Interior, Qatar Airways, Qatar Petroleum Transport and others, where they have been given the authority to vaccinate their employees and families and they are authorized to use medical services in these places, she said.

الدوحة: أكدت الدكتورة سهى البيات رئيس قسم التطعيمات بإدارة حماية الصحة ومكافحة الأمراض الانتقالية بوزارة الصحة أن كل دولة تتخذ قراراتها بشأن الإجراءات المعلقة بفيروس كورونا “كوفيد 19” حسب الأوضاع الداخلية وما يتوفر لديها من معلومات.

وقالت خلال برنامج المسافة الاجتماعية على تلفزيون قطر مساء اليوم الإثنين رداً على سؤال هل هناك نية لإعفاء المسافرين الحاصلين على اللقاح المضاد لكورونا من فحص الـ”بي سي آر”؟ إن هناك بعض الدول أعفت المُطعمين من الـ”بي سي آر” بشرط إثبات أنه تلقى اللقاح ومرت 14 يوماً بعد الجرعة الثانية، وهناك دول وبينها قطر لا تعفي المطعمين من فحص كورونا.

وأوضحت أن الهدف من عدم إعفاء القادمين إلى قطر سواء مواطنين أو مقيمين أو زائرين، من فحص كوفيد 19 رغم أنه تم الإعفاء من الحجر، هو أنه رغم كفاءة اللقاحات المستخدمة في قطر بدليل انخفاض عدد الإصابات، لكن لا أحد يستطيع القول أن الحماية من الإصابة تصل إلى 100%.

وأضافت: لا نعرف هل المسافر العائد المطعم من الناس المحصنة أو هل لديه درجة مناعة كافية أو هل هو مصاب ولا يعرف وليس لديه أعراض، فالطريقة التي نعرف بها تكون بالفحص حماية له وللركاب الآخرين في الطائرة ولأهله عند عودته إليهم في قطر.

وشددت الدكتورة سهى البيات على كفاءة اللقاحين المستخدمين في قطر، مشيدة أيضاً بالوعي المجتمعي وتعاون المواطنين والمقيمين والإقبال على التطعيم وتكاتف جميع المؤسسات وهو ما ساهم في الوصول إلى هذه المرحلة من انخفاض إصابات كوفيد 19 في البلاد.

وطالبت الذين لم يتلقوا التطعيم بأخذ اللقاح لكي تكون قطر من أوائل الدول التي تسيطر على الوباء، معتبرة أن يجب حصول 80% على التطعيم لكي تنخفض أعداد الإصابات أكثر، متوقعة أن يتم الوصول إلى هذه النسبة قبل نهاية السنة، موضحة أن وصول اللقاحات إلى كل دول العالم يعتمد على التصنيع ووصول دفعات أكثر من اللقاحات لكي يتم تطعيم عدد أكبر.

وحول مستجدات برنامج التطعيم الوطني ضد كورونا بعد الحديث عن إغلاق بعض المراكز التي تم افتتاحها مؤقتاً وهل ستسمر هذه المراكز أم سوف تغلق ويتم الاعتماد على المراكز الصحية؟ قالت الدكتورة سهى البيات: عندما تم إنشاء مركز قطر الوطني للمؤتمرات أو مركز التطعيم من داخل السيارات في لوسيل والوكرة، كان مجرد إجراء مؤقت لهدف معين وهو اعطاء دفعة للتطعيمات لكي نصل إلى هدف معين من بينها قطاع التربية والتعليم حيث أن هناك قطاعات معينة كان لابد من توفير مكان لها دون وجود ازدحام وتوفير مواعيد أكثر.

ونوهت بأن مركز لوسيل تم إغلاقه قبل يومين وأن مركز الوكرة سيتم إغلاقه بعد غداً ومركز قطر للمؤتمرات سيغلق، وأطمئن الناس بأنه لن تقل النسبة في التطعيمات يعني أن الطاقة الاستيعابية ستظل بنفس الوتيرة.

وأشارت إلى أن مركز قطر للتطعيمات المخصص لقطاع الأعمال والصناعة والذي تم افتتاحه مؤخراً مؤهل لـ25 ألف جرعة في اليوم الواحد بالإضافة إلى 27 مركزاً للرعاية الأولية، متابعة: سنواصل على وتيرة 40 ألف تقريباً.

وأوضحت أن هناك وزارات وقطاعات ساهمت في حملة التطعيم مثل وزارة الدفاع ووزارة الداخلية والخطوط الجوية القطرية ومواصلات وقطر للبترول وغيرها حيث تم إعطائها الصلاحية لتطعيم موظفيها وعوائلهم المصرح لهم باستخدام الخدمات الطبية في هذه الأماكن.
