Dr. Al-Khal: Passenger infections now account for a large proportion

Doha: Dr. Abdullatif, Chair of the National Strategic Group on Covid-19 and Head of the Infectious Diseases Division at Hamad Medical Corporation, revealed the establishment of a unit in the Ministry of Public Health to schedule vaccination dates in the field of basic services, with the aim of supporting the lifting of restrictions.

Indian Strain

Dr. Al Khal confirmed that the Ministry of Public Health has recorded a continuous decline in the number of deaths, infections and admissions to intensive care over the coming weeks, expressing thanks to the public for many sacrifices and efforts, especially during the holy month of Ramadan, sending a message to the public: your efforts were clear as it led to a decrease in all epidemiological indicators and we thank you for shouldering your individual responsibilities.

He stressed that infection cases among travelers now constitutes a large percentage of infections, explaining that 2 to 6% of passengers have a positive result during the 7 days and this percentage is not considered high, as it corresponds to the rates of infection in many countries of the world.

السلالة الهندية

وبخصوص وجود السلالة الهندية في دولة قطر، قال: بالرغم من انخفاض الإصابات إلا أن هناك قلقا من عودة الإصابات بعد فترة العيد مثلما حدث في العام الماضي وخاصة مع السلالات الجديدة مثل السلالة البريطانية والجنوب إفريقية وهي سريعة العودة والانتقال ويجب على أفراد المجتمع الحرص في العيد القادم أن يطبقوا الإجراءات الاحترازية وتجنب الزيارات واللقاءات الاجتماعية خارج القيود المفروضة .. وأضاف: احتمال زيادة الإصابات بعد العيد وارد ودخول المستشفيات..

وفيما يتعلق بالسلالة الهندية، قال الدكتور الخال: لم يتبين وجود السلالة في دولة قطر، وهناك جهود حثيثة لوزارة الصحة في تحليل السلالات التي يتم عزلها من القادمين من السفر من جنوب شرق آسيا للتأكد من وجود هذه السلالات من بين المسافرين، وحتى لو ثبت وجود هذه السلالات ستكون من القادمين من السفر الخاضعين للحجر وسيكون وجودها محدوداً.

وأكد الدكتور الخال أن وزارة لصحة العامة سجلت انخفاضاً مستمراً في عدد الوفيات والإصابات ودخول العناية المركزة على مدار الأسابيع القادمة، معرباً عن الشكر للجمهور على الكثير من التضحيات والجهود وخاصة في خلال شهر رمضان المبارك، موجهاً رسالة للجمهور: كانت جهودكم واضحة حيث أدت لانخفاض في جميع المؤشرات الوبائية ونشكركم على تحمل مسؤولياتكم الفردية.

وأكد أن حالات الإصابة بين المسافرين تشكل الآن نسبة كبيرة من الإصابات، موضحاً أن ما نسبته 2 إلى 6 % من المسافرين تكون نتيجته إيجابية خلال الـ 7 أيام ولا تعتبر هذه النسبة مرتفعة، حيث يتوافق مع معدلات الاصابة في كثير من دول العالم.
