Kuala Lumpur: The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) said Friday that it has taken note of the Myanmar Football Federations (MFF) confirmation of the withdrawals of Hantharwady United FC and Shan United FC from the 2021 AFC Cup and AFC Champions League, respectively.
In a statement released yesterday on their website, the AFC said that its competitions committee noted and acknowledged the challenges as well as the present complexities caused by the state of emergency in Myanmar and decided that the situation constituted an event of force majeure.
To determine the remaining slots for the 2021 AFC Club Competitions, the AFC Competitions Committee has decided to cancel the AFC Champions League Preliminary Stage match between Shan United FC and Australias Melbourne City FC, who will now advance to the Playoff stage where they will face Cerezo Osaka from Japan.
The Committee also decided to cancel the AFC Cup Playoff Stage match between Hantharwady United FC who were originally scheduled to face the winner of the Preliminary Stage match between FC Chanthabouly (previously known as Lao Toyota FC) from Laos and Brunei Darussalams Kasuka FC.
FC Chanthabouly and Kasuka FC will instead compete for a direct slot in Group G occupying position G4, alongside Hanoi FC from Vietnam, Bali United FC from Indonesia and Cambodias Boeung Ket.
The Committee also agreed to cancel the AFC Cup Playoff Stage match between Persipura Jayapura from Indonesia and the winner of the Preliminary Stage tie between Cambodias Visakha FC and Lalenok United FC from Timor-Leste.
Persipura Jayapura has instead received an automatic entry into Group H in position H4, alongside Kedah Darul Aman from Malaysia, Singapores Lion City Sailors FC and Saigon FC from Vietnam, while Visakha FC and Lalenok United FC will compete for a place in Group I.
Meanwhile, in the AFC Cup South Zone, the AFC COVID-19 Sub-Committee for AFC Champions League and AFC Cup (West) has also noted the mounting challenges faced by Bangladeshs Abahani Limited Dhaka in meeting the extended deadline to host their AFC Cup Preliminary Stage match against Club Eagles from Maldives.
Taking into careful consideration the exceptional circumstances surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic, in particular the lockdown and travel restrictions in Bangladesh, the Sub-Committee decided that Abahani Limited Dhaka are considered to have withdrawn from the AFC Cup 2021 and that the situation constituted an event of force majeure.
The Sub-Committee also agreed to award the Playoff Stage slot to Club Eagles, who will now face Indias JSW Bengaluru FC for a place in the AFC Cup Group D on May 11, 2021 in Maldives.

كوالالمبور: قال الاتحاد الآسيوي لكرة القدم إنه اطلع على تأكيد اتحاد ميانمار لكرة القدم، عن انسحاب نادي /هانثاروادي يونايتد/ ونادي /شان يونايتد/ من بطولتي كأس الاتحاد الآسيوي ودوري أبطال آسيا 2021 .
وقال الاتحاد الآسيوي، في بيان له الأمس، ان لجنة المسابقات في الاتحاد اطلعت على التحديات والتعقيدات الحالية التي نتجت عن إعلان حالة الطوارئ في ميانمار، وقررت اعتبار الموقف على أنه ظروف قهرية طارئة.
ومن أجل تحديد المقاعد المتبقية في مسابقات الأندية لعام 2021، قررت لجنة المسابقات إلغاء مباراة الدور التمهيدي الأول في دوري أبطال آسيا بين /شان يونايتد/ و/ملبورن سيتي/ الأسترالي، حيث سيتأهل الأخيرة مباشرة إلى الدور التمهيدي الثاني لمواجهة /سيريزو أوساكا/ الياباني.
كما قررت اللجنة إلغاء مباراة الدور التمهيدي الثاني في كأس الاتحاد الآسيوي بين /هانثاروادي يونايتد/ والفائز من مباراة الدور التمهيدي الأول بين /تشانثابولي/ من لاوس و/كاسوكا/ من بروناي.
وفي المقابل يتنافس تشانثابولي وكاسوكا من أجل تحديد الفريق الذي سيحصل على بطاقة التأهل المباشر للعب في دور المجموعات ضمن المجموعة السابعة، إلى جانب هانوي الفيتنامي وبالي يونايتد من إندونيسيا وبوينغ كيت من كمبوديا.
وقررت اللجنة أيضا إلغاء المباراة الثانية في الدور التمهيدي الثاني بين بيرسيبورا جاياباورا الإندونيسي والفائز من مباراة الدور التمهيدي الأول بين فيساكا الكمبودي ولالينوك يونايتد من تيمور الشرقية.
وحصل بيرسيبورا جايابورا على بطاقة التأهل المباشرة للعب في المجموعة الثامنة إلى جانب /قدح/ الماليزي وليون سيتي سايلرز من سنغافورة وسايغون الفيتنامي.. في حين يتنافس فيساكا ولالينوك يونايتد للحصول على مقعد بالمجموعة التاسعة.
وفي منطقة جنوب آسيا، فقد اطلعت اللجنة الخاصة بجائحة /كوفيد-19/ في دوري أبطال آسيا وكأس الاتحاد الآسيوي لمنطقة الغرب، على التحديات المتزايدة التي يواجهها نادي /أبهاني/ من بنغلادش، لاستضافة مباراة الدور التمهيدي الثاني أمام نادي /ايغلز/ من المالديف.
وبعد الأخذ بعين الاعتبار الظروف الاستثنائية الناتجة عن الجائحة، خاصة ظروف الإغلاق وقيود السفر في بنغلادش، قررت اللجنة الفرعية اعتبار نادي /أبهاني/ منسحباً من كأس الاتحاد الآسيوي 2021، واعتبار الموقف ظروفا قهرية طارئة.
ووافقت اللجنة الفرعية على منح نادي /ايغلز/ بطاقة التأهل للدور التمهيدي الثاني، حيث سيتقابل مع بينغالورو الهندي، من أجل التنافس على مقعد في المجموعة الرابعة، وتقام المباراة يوم 11 مايو المقبل في المالديف.
