QC, Save the Children UK sign MoU for humanitarian work

DOHA: Qatar Charity and Save the Children UK organisation signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to benefit from the cooperation aspects of their humanitarian functions.

The MoU aims to create strategic cooperation between the two entities in implementing emergency relief projects, to develop mechanisms to operate in the best manner and to create opportunities for cooperation in all stages of planning and implementation.

The MoU promotes the implementations of joint activities between both parties in the emergencies, preparedness and quick responses in case of disasters and coordinate field programs regularly.

Qatar Charity CEO Yousef bin Ahmed Al Kuwari and Save the Children UK Partnerships Manager, Richard Young, expressed their delight with the cooperation between both entities. Young said he hoped the MoU has a positive and effective impact on the quality and comprehensiveness of the services and projects done by both organizations, especially in rapid responses and relief in disasters and emergencies.

For his part, Al Kuwari said Qatar Charity has high hopes in its cooperation with Save the Children with regards to optimizing the services provided in emergencies, especially those related to protecting children and providing them with the appropriate help in places affected by disasters and conflicts, confirming Qatar Charity’s commitment to international standards.

He added that Qatar Charity operates through 28 field offices to enable societies to maintain their dignity achieving social justice through educating the children, cultural development, health, nutrition, water and sanitation, economic empowerment, social welfare, disaster preparedness and response and housing.

Save the Children UK is an international non-governmental organisation that focuses on ensuring each child’s right to survival, education and protection and has nearly 100 years of experience.

وقّعت «قطر الخيرية» ومنظمة «أنقذوا الطفولة» بالمملكة المتحدة مذكرة تفاهم للاستفادة من أوجه التعاون الطبيعية في أداء مهامهما الإنسانية.

ويتمثل غرض المذكرة في إيجاد تعاون استراتيجي بين «قطر الخيرية» و»أنقذوا الطفولة» في تنفيذ المشاريع الإغاثية في حالات الطوارئ، ووضع آليات لإكمال أعمالهما بالطريقة المثلى، كما تهدف إلى خلق فرص للتعاون في جميع مراحل التخطيط والتنفيذ للبرامج المتفق عليها وتقييمها، وتمهيد الطريق لبذل جهود مشتركة تشمل المهام الإعلامية، والمنتديات، والفعاليات، وحملات المناصرة.

وعبّر كل من السيد يوسف بن أحمد الكواري الرئيس التنفيذي لقطر الخيرية، والسيد ريتشارد يونج مدير الشراكات بمنظمة أنقذوا الطفولة بالمملكة المتحدة، عن سعادتهما بتوقيع مذكرة التفاهم بين المنظمتين، وتمنيا أن تنعكس هذه المذكرة بشكل إيجابي وفعّال على جودة وشمولية الخدمات والمشاريع التي تنفذها المنظمتان، وخصوصاً في مجال التعاون بحالات التدخل السريع والإغاثة في الكوارث والطوارئ.

وقال السيد يوسف بن أحمد الكواري الرئيس التنفيذي لـ «قطر الخيرية»، إن «قطر الخيرية» تعقد آمالاً كبيرة على تعاونها مع منظمة أنقذوا الطفولة في تجويد الخدمات التي تقدم في حالات الطوارئ، وخصوصاً تلك المتعلقة بحماية الأطفال وتقديم الرعاية المناسبة لهم في الأماكن المنكوبة بالكوارث والصراعات، مؤكداً على التزام «قطر الخيرية» خلال عملها بالمعايير الدولية، مشيراً إلى أن «قطر الخيرية» تعمل من خلال 26 مكتباً ميدانياً تابعاً لها على تمكين المجتمعات على المحافظة على كرامتها، وتحقيق العدالة الاجتماعية من خلال مجالات تعليم الأطفال، والتنمية الثقافية، والصحة، والغذاء والتغذية، والمياه والصرف الصحي، والتمكين الاقتصادي، والرعاية الاجتماعية، والتأهب للكوارث والاستجابة لها والإسكان.;
