Residents won’t be exempt from quarantine if first vaccine dose is received outside Qatar

Doha: Dr. Hamad al-Rumaihi, Director of Health Protection and Transitional Disease Control at the Ministry of Public Health, said that if a resident receives a single dose of the vaccine outside Qatar, he will be quarantined and will not be exempted, but he can take the second dose of the vaccine in Qatar, not including visitors.
In an interview with The Social Distance Program on Qatar TV, Dr. Al Rumaihi explained that each country has priorities in the vaccination program, the priority in Qatar is for the target groups of the country’s vaccination program.
He added: The person is supposed to complete the vaccination in his country, and if this person lives in Qatar and gets one dose abroad he can take the second dose but our current priority is for the citizen and resident of the country.
High infections among children
Dr. Hamad al-Rumaihi attributed the rise in the number of infections in general, including the category of children, for several reasons, the most important of which is the spread of new mutated strains, which have a higher infection rate in society, in addition to gatherings outside the family scope, which causes the spread of the virus among children, indicating that children do not adhere to the precautionary measures, especially safe distance and masks, in addition to the fact that children are not eligible for vaccination.
People recovered from coronavirus
On the possibility of corona recovered getting the vaccine, Al-Rumaihi said that coronavirus recovered could take the vaccine in two doses as his previous infection gives him prevention for at least three months and he can decide to get the vaccine before this period after recovering from infection and coming out of quarantine after two weeks.
But if this person receives plasma and is hospitalized, the vaccination should be postponed for three months, and in the current protocol he can take the two doses.
He explained that some countries and studies say one dose for the recovered is sufficient, which is currently being studied, but the current protocol still stipulated full two doses vaccination for the recovered.

الدوحة: قال الدكتور حمد الرميحي مدير حماية الصحة ومكافحة الأمراض الانتقالية بوزارة الصحة العامة أن الحجر الصحي سيطبق على المقيم في حال حصوله على جرعة واحدة من اللقاح خارج قطر، ولن يتم إعفاؤه من الحجر، لكنه يستطيع أن يأخذ جرعة اللقاح الثانية في قطر، ولا يشمل ذلك الزائرين.
وأوضح الدكتور الرميحي – في مقابلة مع برنامج المسافة الاجتماعية على تليفزيون قطر – أن كل دولة لديها أولويات في برنامج التطعيم، والأولوية في قطر للفئات المستهدفة ببرنامج التطعيم.
وأضاف: من المفترض أن يستكمل الشخص التطعيم في بلده، وإذا كان هذا الشخص مقيماً في دولة قطر وحصل على جرعة واحدة في الخارج فمن الممكن يأخذ الجرعة الثانية لكن الأولوية الحالية لدينا للمواطن والمقيم بالدولة.
ارتفاع إصابات الأطفال
وأرجع الدكتور حمد الرميحي ارتفاع عدد الإصابات بصورة عامة ومن ضمنها فئة الأطفال لعدة أسباب أهمها انتشار السلالات المتحورة الجديدة التي تتصف بنسبة انتشار أعلى في المجتمع، إضافة إلى التجمعات خارج نطاق الأسرة، الأمر الذي يتسبب بانتشار الفيروس بين الأطفال، مبيناً أن الأطفال لا يلتزمون بالإجراءات الاحترازية وخاصة بالمسافة الأمانة والكمام، إضافة إلى أن الأطفال ليسوا من الفئة المؤهلة لأخد التطعيم.
المتعافون من كورونا
وحول إمكانية حصول المتعافين من كورونا على اللقاح، قال الرميحي إنه من الممكن للمتعافي من فيروس كورونا أن يأخذ اللقاح بجرعتيه حيث أن إصابته السابقة تعطيه الوقايه لمدة 3 شهور على الأقل ويستطيع أن يقرر أن يتطعم قبل هذه الفترة بعد التعافي من العدوى والخروج من الحجر الصحي بعد أسبوعين .
وأضاف: “لكن إذا تلقى هذا الشخص البلازما ودخل المستشفى فيجب أن يؤجل التطعيم لمدة ثلاثة شهور، وفي البروتوكول الحالي يستطيع أن يأخذ الجرعتين”.
وأوضح أن بعض الدول والدراسات تقول أن جرعة واحدة من اللقاح كافية للمتعافين، وهو الأمر الذي يتم دراسته حالياً ولكن مازال البروتوكول الحالي ينص على أخذ المتعافين للوقاية الكاملة عن طريق الجرعتين.
