Traffic Patrols Intensified during Ramadan

Doha: The General Directorate of Traffic announced on Monday that it will intensify traffic patrols during Ramadan in all regions of the country to ensure the flow of traffic movement and reduce accidents according to a plan for the holy month, in addition to a comprehensive traffic awareness plan.

In a press statement, Assistant Director of Traffic Awareness Department Lt. Col. Jaber Mohammed Adeebeh said that the General Directorate of Traffic has established a comprehensive traffic plan for the month of Ramadan that is in line with the nature of movement in this month. He added that the aim for the plan is to protect all road users from the risks of traffic accidents, and to ensure the flow of vehicles through the spread of traffic patrols in all regions of the country throughout the day, with a focus on peak times, and the period before and after iftar.

He also indicated that Ramadan is an occasion to promote correct traffic behaviors among all segments of society, and to enhance community awareness of traffic rules in order to preserve property and lives.

Lt. Col. Adeebeh explained that traffic patrols will work during the holy month to secure traffic on commercial streets and the areas surrounding complexes and public places. Patrols will also intensify their work at the entrances and exits of cities and external roads to monitor the movement of trucks to ensure that they adhere to the times allowed to drive.

The Ministry of Interior has set the peak times during which trucks are forbidden to travel during Ramadan from 7:30a.m. to 10:00a.m.,12:30p.m. to 3:00p.m., and 5:30p.m. to 12:00a.m..

Regarding the role of traffic patrols to strengthen the precautionary measures to limit the spread of COVID-19, Lt. Col. Adeebeh stated that these patrols will play their role in monitoring and following up the implementation of decisions related to preventing the spread of virus and to ensure the extent of commitment to the permitted number inside a single vehicle, in addition to ensuring the commitment of road users to download Ehteraz, and follow all other precautionary measures such as wearing mask and distancing in vehicles for transporting workers.

In terms of providing services to visitors, the traffic departments completed all their preparations to provide their services with ease during Ramadan.

The Madinat Khalifa Traffic Department operates from 9a.m. until 2p.m., while the Traffic Investigation Department works around the clock, and the technical inspection departments are open from 8a.m. until 4p.m. except on Friday and Saturday.

Meanwhile, the Traffic Awareness Department at the General Directorate of Traffic has prepared a varied awareness plan to raise the rate of safety on the road during the holy month of Ramadan, which includes a number of remote activities so that the plan takes into account all precautionary measures to limit the spread of COVID-19.

The plan includes meetings with members of the Central Municipal Council, in cooperation with the Hamad Trauma Center, to find out the traffic situation in the geographical constituencies, to listen to inquiries and questions of citizens in those departments, to correct traffic problems if any, and to inform the people of the geographical departments of the health, social and economic risks of traffic accidents, and the importance of monitoring children to reduce wrong behavior.

It also includes educational lectures for communities, and another for order delivery drivers, as well as religious lectures urging adherence to correct traffic behavior on the road, in addition to intensifying awareness messages through traffic accounts on social media sites, and through television programs for children in cooperation with Al Rayan Channel in order to promote traffic safety requirements for young people.

الدوحة: أعلنت الإدارة العامة للمرور، أنها ستكثف من عمل الدوريات المرورية خلال شهر رمضان المبارك في جميع مناطق الدولة لضمان انسياب حركة المركبات، والحد من الحوادث، وذلك وفق خطة خاصة بالشهر الكريم، إلى جانب خطة توعوية مرورية شاملة.

وقال المقدم جابر محمد عضيبة مساعد مدير إدارة التوعوية المرورية في تصريح صحفي بالمناسبة، إن “الإدارة العامة للمرور درجت على وضع خطة مرورية شاملة لشهر رمضان الكريم تتواءم مع طبيعة الحركة في هذا الشهر”، مضيفا “نهدف من هذه الخطة إلى حماية كافة مستخدمي الطريق من مخاطر الحوادث المرورية، وضمان انسياب حركة المركبات من خلال انتشار الدوريات المرورية في جميع مناطق الدولة على مدار اليوم، مع التركيز على أوقات الذروة، وفترة ما قبل وبعد موعد الإفطار”.

كما أشار إلى أن شهر رمضان مناسبة لتعزيز السلوكيات المرورية الصحيحة بين كافة فئات المجتمع، وتعزيز الوعي المجتمعي بالقواعد المرورية حفاظا على الممتلكات والأرواح.

وأوضح أن الدوريات المرورية ستعمل خلال الشهر الفضيل على تأمين حركة السير في الشوارع التجارية والمناطق المحيطة بالمجمعات والأماكن العامة، كما ستكثف الدوريات عملها على مداخل ومخارج المدن والطرق الخارجية لمتابعة حركة الشاحنات للتأكد من التزامها بالأوقات المسموح لها بالسير.

وحددت وزارة الداخلية أوقات الذروة التي يمنع فيها سير الشاحنات خلال شهر رمضان وذلك من الساعة السابعة والنصف صباحا وحتى الساعة العاشرة صباحا ومن الساعة الثانية عشرة والنصف ظهرا وحتى الساعة الثالثة عصرا، ومن الساعة الخامسة والنصف مساء وحتى الساعة الثانية عشرة من منتصف الليل.

وفيما يخص دور الدوريات المرورية لتعزيز الإجراءات والتدابير الاحترازية للحد من انتشار فيروس كورونا /كوفيدـ19/، أفاد المقدم جابر عضيبة، أن هذه الدوريات ستضطلع بدورها في مراقبة ومتابعة تنفيذ القرارات المتعلقة بالوقاية من الفيروس، والتأكد من مدى الالتزامات بالعدد المسموح به في داخل المركبة الواحدة، إلى جانب التأكد من التزام مستخدمي الطريق بتحميل تطبيق احتراز، واتباع كافة الإجراءات الاحترازية الأخرى مثل ارتداء الكمامة والتباعد في المركبات الخاصة بنقل العمال.

وعلى مستوى تقديم الخدمات للمراجعين، فقد أكملت الأقسام المرورية كافة استعداداتها لتقديم خدماتها بكل يسر وسهولة خلال الشهر الفضيل.

وتعمل الإدارة العامة للمرور /المبنى الرئيسي/ بمدينة خليفة من الساعة التاسعة صباحا وحتى الثانية ظهرا، فيما يعمل التحقيق المروري على مدار الساعة، على أن تفتح أقسام الفحص الفني من الثامنة صباحا وحتى الرابعة مساء عدا يومي /الجمعة/ و/السبت/.

في غضون ذلك، أعدت إدارة التوعية المرورية بالإدارة العامة للمرور خطة توعوية متنوعة لرفع معدل السلامة على الطريق خلال شهر رمضان الفضيل، تتضمن عددا من الفعاليات والأنشطة /عن بعد/، بحيث تراعي الخطة كافة الإجراءات والتدابير الاحترازية للحد من انتشار فيروس كورونا /كوفيد ـ 19/.

وتشمل الخطة لقاءات مع أعضاء المجلس البلدي المركزي بالتعاون مع مركز حمد للإصابات، للوقوف على الوضعية المرورية في الدوائر الجغرافية، والاستماع إلى استفسارات وأسئلة المواطنين في تلك الدوائر، وتصحيح المشكلات المرورية إن وجدت، وتعريف أهالي الدوائر الجغرافية بالمخاطر الصحية والاجتماعية والاقتصادية للحوادث المرورية، وأهمية مراقبة الأبناء للحد من السلوكيات المرورية الخاطئة.

كما تشمل محاضرات توعوية للجاليات، وأخرى لسائقي توصيل الطلبات، إلى جانب محاضرات دينية تحث على الالتزام بالسلوكيات المرورية الصحيحة على الطريق، إضافة إلى مسابقة مرورية يومية، وتكثيف الرسائل التوعوية عبر حسابات المرور بمواقع التواصل الاجتماعي، وعبر برامج تلفزيونية للأطفال بالتعاون مع قناة الريان بهدف تعزيز اشتراطات السلامة المرورية لدى النشء.
