Al-Buainain: Half of 12th grade students are vaccinated

Doha: Mr. Ali Al Buainin, Assistant Undersecretary for Joint Services at the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, revealed the latest developments in the plan to vaccinate high school students with the Covid-19 vaccine, stressing that there is a high demand for taking the vaccine before the tests, where more than half of 12th graders were vaccinated.

“The Ministry of Education and Higher Education holds regular meetings on a weekly and sometimes daily basis with the Ministry of Public Health, and vaccination has begun for administrative and educational cadres at kindergarten, primary, middle and secondary level, and now the ministry has decided to provide vaccination for students in the 12th grade because they are 16 years of age and older, and they are free to take vaccination,” al-Buainin said in remarks to Qatar TV’s Social Distance Program.

He continued: “We reached out to the parents of 12th graders in order to coordinate the vaccination, and the turnout is excellent, where we have about 16 thousand students at this stage, and more than half of this number has been vaccinated, and there are students who got vaccinated by themselves, and God willing this number will increase before the tests.”

** Daily absence

In response to a question about the issue of depriving students of tests if they are absent from the live broadcast of daily lessons and classes, al-Buainain said: The presence of students is very important to make the most of the benefit and enhance educational attainment, where absence is recorded, especially during the first and second classes, and the school communicates with parents and coordinates with them in this regard.”

He added: The absence is calculated from the beginning of the second semester, so if any student does not attend, this will affect his attendance at the tests.

الدوحة: كشف السيد علي البوعينين، الوكيل المساعد لشؤون الخدمات المشتركة بوزارة التعليم والتعليم العالي، عن آخر مستجدات خطة تطعيم طلبة الثانوية العامة بلقاح كوفيد-19، مؤكدا وجود إقبال كبير لأخذ اللقاح قبل الاختبارات، حيث تم تطعيم أكثر من نصف عدد الطلبة في الصف الثالث الثانوي.

وأوضح البوعينين، في تصريحات لبرنامج المسافة الاجتماعية على تلفزيون قطر، أن وزارة التعليم والتعليم العالي تعقد اجتماعات دورية بصفة أسبوعية وأحياناً يومية مع وزارة الصحة العامة، وقد بدأ بتطعيم الكوادر الإدارية والتعليمية في مرحلة رياض الأطفال والمرحلة الابتدائية والإعدادية والثانوية، والآن ارتأت الوزارة أن توفر التطعيم لطلاب الصف الثالث الثانوي بحكم أنهم في عمر 16 سنة وما فوق، ولهم الحرية في مسألة أخذ للتطعيم”.

وتابع: “تواصلنا مع أولياء أمور طلبة الصف الثالث الثانوي من أجل التنسيق لأخذ اللقاح، والإقبال ممتاز، حيث لدينا نحو 16 ألف طالب في هذه المرحلة، وقد تم تطعيم أكثر من نصف هذا العدد، وهناك طلاب تطعموا من أنفسهم، وبإذن الله سيزداد هذا العدد قبل الاختبارات”.

** الغياب اليومي

وفي رده على سؤال بشأن ما يثار عن حرمان الطلبة من الاختبارات في حال تغيبهم عن حضور البث المباشر للدروس والحصص اليومية، قال البوعينين: حضور الطلبة مهم للغاية لتحقيق الاستفادة القصوى وتعزيز التحصيل العلمي، حيث يتم تسجيل الغياب خاصة خلال الحصتين الأولى والثانية، وتقوم المدرسة بالتواصل مع أولياء الأمور والتنسيق معهم في هذا الشأن”.

وأضاف: يتم احتساب الغياب من بداية الفصل الثاني، وعليه فإن أي طالب يتغيب، فسيؤثر ذلك على حضوره الاختبارات.
