Reasons for transferring Covid testing to private facilities

Doha: Dr. Shawkia Al Majid, Director of Umm Ghuwailina Health Center, announced a plan to increase the number of vaccination clinics against the new coronavirus (Covid19) to reach as many vaccination recipients as possible and also as soon as possible.

She said during the social distance program on Qatar TV on Monday evening that the implementation of the decision to conduct Covid 19 tests for the purpose of traveling in private health facilities began on Sunday 4th, temporarily after noticing the increase in the number of people with Covid 19 and the increase in contacts as well as the increase in those wishing to travel during the recent period.

She added: Therefore there was pressure on the health centers, which were overcrowded and the medical staff had to press to provide basic health services, make surveys, follow up the results and extract certificates.

She considered that this step was very important to contribute to reducing the burden on the medical staff in the health centres and to allow them to focus on providing basic primary health care services and what is most important is to focus on speeding up the vaccination process.

With regard to the groups excluded from the decision to conduct corona swabs in private health centres, does this require prior appointments in government health centres? Dr. Shawkia al-Majid said: No. Testing at the primary health care Corporation’s health centres is done without pre-appointments, free of charge and present in all health centres, these categories include patients who have symptoms or are suspected of having Covid 19 and contacts of patients with Covid 19. It is known that the sixth day of return from travel requires the returnee to undergo a Covid 19 examination swab, in addition to the two excluded categories, citizens for treatment travelling abroad with Qatari escorts and students studying abroad.

She noted that from the first day of the implementation of the decision to transfer testing to private health facilities, and to keep only excluded groups in government health centres, swabs’ results began to release significantly faster compared to previous days, wishing that the pressure on conducting swabs would actually be reduced and that only the necessary things would be done.

She explained that the Umm Ghuwailina Center, like the rest of the 27 centres of the Primary Health Care Corporation , and also the Qatar Convention Centre under the auspices of the Primary Health Care Corporation, provides vaccination service against Covid 19.

She said that the vaccines available are Pfizer and Moderna vaccines, which are free of charge for all, explaining in response to a question whether the choice between Pfizer and Moderna is possible is that the two vaccines are available and the differences between them are very simple and negligible, and those who want the Pfizer or Moderna vaccine can choose and there is no problem because the two are available in health centers, stressing that the most important is to get one of the vaccines to reach as many recipients as possible as quickly as possible.

Earlier today, the Ministry of Public Health announced that 23,992 doses of Covid-19 vaccines had been administered in the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of doses since the vaccination campaign began at the end of December to 934,843.

She said the speed of the vaccination programme means that finally there is hope of a gradual return to normal in Qatar and around the world, but that would not happen in the next few weeks or months, warning that the coronavirus would continue to pose a threat to our health for most months of 2021, and until all individuals eligible for Covid-19 vaccination are vaccinated, we must continue to follow preventive measures.

الدوحة: أعلنت الدكتورة شوقية الماجد مدير مركز أم غويلينا الصحي عن وجود خطة لزيادة أعداد عيادات التطعيم ضد فيروس كورونا المستجد “كوفيد 19”  لوصول التطعيم إلى أكبر عدد ممكن وأيضاً في أسرع وقت.

وقالت خلال برنامج المسافة الاجتماعية على تلفزيون قطر مساء الإثنين إنه بدأ اعتباراً من يوم الأحد 4 أبريل الجاري تطبيق قرار عمل فحص كوفيد 19 لغرض السفر في المرافق الصحية الخاصة وذلك بشكل مؤقت بعد ملاحظة ازدياد أعداد المصابين بكوفيد 19 وازدياد أعداد المخالطين وأيضاً زيادة الراغبين في السفر خلال افترة الأخيرة.

وأضافت: وبالتالي كان هناك ضغطاً على المراكز الصحية التي كانت مكتظة بالمراجعين وكان هناك ازدحاماً والطاقم الطبي كان عليه ضغط لتقديم الخدمات الصحية الأساسية وعمل مسحات ومتابعة النتائج واستخراج الشهادات.

واعتبرت أن هذه الخطوة كانت مهمة جداً للمساهمة في تخفيف العبء على الطاقم الطبي الموجود في المراكز الصحية ولإتاحة الفرصة له للتركيز على تقديم خدمات الرعاية الصحية الأولية الأساسية والشئ المهم جداً هو التركيز على تسريع عملية التطعيم.

وبشأن الفئات المستثناة من قرار عمل مسحات كورونا في المراكز الصحية الخاصة وهل هذا يتطلب مواعيد مسبقة بالمراكز الصحية الحكومية؟ قالت الدكتورة شوقية الماجد: لا.. الفحص في المراكز الصحية التابعة لمؤسسة الرعاية الصحية الأولية بدون مواعيد مسبقة ومجانية وموجودة في كل المراكز الصحية وهذه الفئات تشمل المراجعين الذين لديهم أعراض أو مشتبه بإصابتهم بكوفيد 19 والمخالطين للمرضى المصابين بكوفيد 19 ومن المعروف أن اليوم السادس من العودة من السفر يتطلب عمل مسحة فحص كوفيد 19 بالإضافة إلى الفئتين المستثنيتين هما المواطنين المسافرين للعلاج بالخارج مع المرافقين والطلبة القطريين الدارسين في الخارج.

وأشارت إلى أنه من أول يوم لتطبيق القرار الخاص بنقل المسحات في المرافق الصحية الخاصة، والإبقاء على الفئات المستثناة فقط في المراكز الصحية الحكومية تم ملاحظة تسارع نتائج المسحات مقارنة بالأيام السابقة، متمنية أن يخف الضغط فعلاً على عمل المسحات وتكون للأشياء الضرورية فقط.

وأوضحت أن مركز أم غويلينا مثل بقية المراكز الـ27 التابعة لمؤسسة الرعاية الصحية الأولية، وأيضاً في مركز قطر للمؤتمرات تحت إشراف مؤسسة الرعاية الصحية الأولية، يقدمون خدمة التطعيم ضد كوفيد 19.

وقالت إن اللقاحات المتوفرة هي لقاحي فايزر وموديرنا وهي خدمة مجانية للجميع، موضحة رداً على سؤال هل يمكن الاختيار بين فايزر وموديرنا أن اللقاحين متوفرين والفروق بينهما بسيطة جداً وتكاد لا تذكر، ومن يرغب في لقاح فايزر أو موديرنا لا توجد مشكلة لأن الاثنين متوفرين في المراكز الصحية، مؤكدة أن الأهم هو الحصول على أحد اللقاحين للوصول إلى أكبر عدد ممكن في أسرع وقت.

وفي وقت سابق اليوم أعلنت وزارة الصحة أنه تم إعطاء 23992 جرعة من لقاحات كوفيد-19 خلال الـ 24 ساعة الماضية ليصل إجمالي عدد الجرعات منذ بدء حملة التطعيم في نهاية ديسمبر الماضي إلى 934843 جرعة.

وأعتبرت أن سرعة سير برنامج التطعيم تعني أن هناك أملاً أخيراً بالعودة التدريجية إلى الوضع الطبيعي في قطر وجميع أنحاء العالم، ولكن هذا لن يحدث في الأسابيع أو الأشهر القليلة القادمة، محذرة من أن فيروس كورونا سيستمر في تشكيل خطر على صحتنا طوال معظم شهور عام 2021، وإلى أن يتم تطعيم جميع الأفراد المؤهلين للحصول على التطعيم بلقاح كوفيد-19 فإنه يجب علينا أن نواصل اتباع التدابير الوقائية.
