HMC Provides Treatment, Rehabilitation Services to All Patients Irrespective of Nationality

Doha: Dr. Hanadi Al Hamad, Qatar’s National Health Strategy lead for Healthy Ageing and Medical Director of Rumailah Hospital and Qatar Rehabilitation Institute, has recognized representatives of the embassies of Bangladesh and Nepal in Doha and the Indian Community Benevolent Forum (ICBF) for their efforts in providing social and psychological support to patients of these nationalities. Hamad Medical Corporation cooperates with the embassies of Bangladesh and Nepal and the ICBF to facilitate access for patients of these communities to healthcare services at the right time and place, including rehabilitation and long-term care services, by addressing language challenges and speeding up the processing of official correspondences.

Dr. Al Hamad said that HMC provides its treatment and rehabilitation services to all patients irrespective of their nationality or profession and in accordance with the highest international standards. She explained that patients who require rehabilitative care are cared for at Qatar Rehabilitation Institute, while those with acute conditions that require long-term care receive care at the Enaya center or Rumailah Hospital and are offered all rehabilitation services, treatments, and rehabilitation equipment they require.

The HMC community-based rehabilitation program also offers rehabilitation services to patients and provides them with the rehabilitation support they need to return to their work and daily life while facilitating follow-up care for them in Qatar Rehabilitation Institute’s OPD clinics. Moreover, HMC collaborates with various embassies and community associations, such as the ICBF, to facilitate the repatriation of patients who prefer to return to their home country by providing them with everything they need, such as medication, medical devices, detailed medical report and treatment plan, to ensure they can complete their treatment in their home country.

“In some cases, we arrange to have the patient accompanied by a medical team from HMC on the journey back to his/her country to ensure the continuity of care for the patient. The team also coordinates with the patient’s treating physician in his home country and educates the patient’s family on the best ways to care for the patient,” added Dr. Al Hamad.

The honorees thanked Dr. Handai Al Hamad for this gesture of appreciation and thanked all HMC staff for their continued efforts to ensure the delivery of high-quality care to patients in Qatar.

جاء ذلك في كلمة للدكتورة الحمد لدى تكريمها ممثلين عن السفارتين البنغالية والنيبالية، وكذلك أعضاء من الرابطة الخيرية للجالية الهندية بالدوحة، نظراً لجهودهم المبذولة في تقديم الدعم النفسي والاجتماعي للمرضى من تلك الجنسيات، حيث يتم التعاون معهم بشكل مستمر لتسهيل حصول المرضى من جالياتهم على الرعاية الصحية اللازمة وخدمات التأهيل والرعاية المطولة في الوقت والمكان المناسبين من خلال التغلب على تحديات اللغة وإنجاز المكاتبات والمعاملات الرسمية في أسرع وقت.

وأشارت إلى أنه يتم علاج الحالات التي تحتاج إلى رعاية تأهيلية في مركز قطر لإعادة التأهيل، في حين يتم علاج المرضى الذين تحتاج حالتهم إلى رعاية مطولة في مركز عناية أو مستشفى الرميلة، حيث يتم توفير كافة الأدوية والمستلزمات العلاجية وأجهزة التأهيل والأجهزة التعويضية لهؤلاء المرضى.

كما تتم رعايتهم ضمن برنامج التأهيل المجتمعي الذي يقوم بتأهيل المريض للعودة إلى عمله مرة أخرى مع تسهيل إجراءات المتابعة الدورية للمريض في العيادات الخارجية بمركز قطر لإعادة التأهيل، أما الحالات التي يرغب أصحابها في العودة إلى بلدانهم الأصلية فتقوم مؤسسة حمد الطبية وبالتنسيق مع السفارات والروابط الخيرية للجاليات، بتسهيل كافة إجراءات عودتهم من خلال تزويدهم بالأدوية والمعدات الطبية وتقرير طبي مفصل وخطة علاجية ليتم استكمال علاج المريض في بلاده.

وأضافت قائلة “يقوم فريق طبي من مؤسسة حمد الطبية بمرافقة بعض الحالات المرضية في رحلة العودة إلى بلدانهم إذا استدعت حالتهم الصحية ذلك مع التأكد من استمرار حصول المريض على الرعاية اللازمة بالتنسيق مع أطبائه المعالجين هناك، كما يتم تثقيف أسرة المريض حول الطرق اللازمة لرعايته”.
