30 weddings in one day .. Families rushed to hold weddings before the ban

Doha: Families rushed to hold wedding parties on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays in order to avoid the Cabinet decision of prohibiting the holding of weddings in public places starting from Sunday, February 7, and allowing weddings to be held exclusively in homes after obtaining the approval of the Ministry of Interior.

“Qatar Wedding” account on Twitter, an account specialized in publishing wedding invitations and photos in the country, revealed that the number of weddings on Saturday only reached more than 30 parties in various parts of the country.

The families have already begun arranging to advance the date of weddings as soon as the cabinet decision was announced last Wednesday evening.

The tweeters called on those attending these weddings to tighten precautionary measures, especially since the high numbers of Coronavirus infections in recent weeks were largely due to social events, especially weddings.

Dr. Abd al-Latif al-Khal, head of the National Strategic Group on COVID-19, revealed in a press conference last Wednesday that most infections occur in Socializing in private places such as family visits, weddings, and parties.

الدوحة: قبل سريان قرار مجلس الوزراء، بعدم إقامة حفلات الزفاف، واقتصارها على المنازل بعد موافقة وزارة الداخلية اعتباراً من الأحد 7 فبراير الجاري، استبقت العائلات القرار، وقامت بتقديم حفلات الأعراس لأبنائهم لتصبح في أيام الخميس أو الجمعة  أو السبت المتتالية. 

وكشف حساب “أعراس قطر” على تويتر، وهو حساب متخصص بنشر دعوات وصور الأعراس بالدولة، عن وصول أعداد حفلات الزفاف يوم السبت فقط إلى أكثر من 30 حفلاً بمختلف أنحاء البلاد.

وما أن أعلن قرار مجلس الوزراء مساء الأربعاء الماضي بسريان القرار الأحد حتى بدأت العائلات في الترتيب لتقديم موعد حفلاتهم.

ودعا المغردون من يحضر هذه الأعراس، إلى تشديد الإجراءات الاحترازية، خاصة أن ارتفاع أعداد الإصابات بفيروس كورونا خلال الأسابيع الأخيرة كان جزء كبير منه بسبب المناسبات الاجتماعية، وبخاصة الأعراس .

وفي مؤتمر صحفي الأربعاء الماضي، كشف الدكتور عبد اللطيف الخال رئيس المجموعة الاستراتيجية الوطنية للتصدي لفيروس كوفيد-19، عن أن معظم الإصابات تحدث في الاختلاط في الأماكن الخاصة مثل الزيارات العائلية والأعراس والحفلات.
