3,300 Healthcare Professionals Register for Qatar Health 2021

Doha: More than 3300 healthcare professionals have registered for Qatar Health 2021, which will be held virtually for the first time from Jan. 20 to 23, 2021.

In this year’s version, the conference will discuss the Pandemic Mitigation: Best Practice for Disaster Medicine, Mass Gatherings and Trauma Systems, in a collaborative effort between Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC) and the Ministry of Public Health in preparation for the FIFA World Cup 2022.

The conference will be held on a virtual platform for the first time via live streaming of all sessions to all attendees while being very accessible to everyone. Attendees will have the option to view the conference in a new 360-degree form and engage in a real-life simulation of a conference setting with its large halls and virtual promoters, this provides an immersive experience to all the attendees.

Qatar Health 2021 Co-Chair Dr. Abdul Wahab Al Musleh stated that the conference will be held completely in a virtual space, adding that the conference will give attendees important updates on the latest research and science related to disaster medicine, mass gatherings, and trauma systems plus our pre-conference program which will hone in on specific areas including nursing during Covid-19.

“I am proud to say that we have sourced the best local and international speakers for what will be a challenging yet informative program.” he said.

He stated that Qatar Health 2021 will offer a three-day program, with multi-disciplinary tracks, preceded by one-day pre-conference workshops and symposia. The tracks are Pandemic Mitigation and Control, Post-Pandemic Preparations for Mass Gatherings, Post-Pandemic Trauma Systems plus Post-Pandemic Research. There are also three pre-conference tracks including Heroic Nursing Practice During Covid-19; Critical Decision in Trauma; and Travel Health Preparedness During Sporting Events.

In turn, Head of Hamad Trauma Center and Deputy Chair of Qatar Health 2021 Conference Dr. Hassan Al-Thani, said that much has changed since the last Qatar Health conference and it is important to view strategies and real-life applications in the light of COVID-19.

“Qatar Health 2021 focus in on providing quality care during mass gatherings with the inclusion of recent developments and best practice in pandemic mitigation. It shall also provide opportunities in professional development for a wide variety of healthcare professionals from a diverse set of disciplines and practices. The virtual platform enables us to reach a wider audience and gives attendees an immersive and hands-on experience.” Dr. Al Thani said.

The conference, this year, hosts several experts, including the World Health Organizations Director of Health Emergencies Program who has been considered one of the pre-eminent experts throughout the Covid-19 pandemic Dr. Michael Ryan, acting Manager and Program Lead, Infectious Hazard Preparedness Unit, Health Emergencies Program, WHO Regional Office for the Eastern Mediterranean Dr. Abdinasir Abubaka and Dean, College of Public Health, University of Nebraska Medical Center Dr. Ali Khan.

الدوحة: سجل أكثر من 3300 متخصص في الرعاية الصحية للمشاركة في مؤتمر قطر للصحة 2021 الذي يعقد “عن بعد” للمرة الأولى، خلال الفترة ما بين 20 و23 يناير الجاري.

ويناقش المؤتمر، في نسخة هذا العام، الممارسات المتبعة في طب الكوارث لتخفيف الوباء وأنظمة التعامل مع الإصابات أثناء التجمعات الجماهيرية، وهي موضوعات تم تطويرها بجهود مشتركة بين كل من مؤسسة حمد الطبية ووزارة الصحة العامة بهدف الاستعداد لاستضافة بطولة كأس العالم لكرة القدم 2022 في قطر.

وستتاح جلسات المؤتمر لجميع الحضور عبر تقنية البث المباشر وسيكون بإمكانهم اختيار مشاهدة المؤتمر بتقنية (360 درجة) الجديدة والمشاركة في بيئة تحاكي الواقع والتي تتخللها قاعات كبيرة ووسائل معدة بصورة افتراضية لتقديم تجربة حقيقية لكافة الحضور.

وفي هذا السياق أكد الدكتور عبدالوهاب المصلح، الرئيس المشارك لمؤتمر قطر للصحة 2021 أن المؤتمر سينعقد بشكل كامل “عن بعد” ويتناول مواضيع هامة حول آخر الأبحاث والعلوم المرتبطة بمجال طب الكوارث والتجمعات الجماهيرية وأنظمة الإصابات، إضافة إلى البرنامج الذي يسبق المؤتمر والذي سيركز على جوانب محددة تتضمن التمريض في ظل جائحة /كوفيد – 19/.

وأعرب الدكتور المصلح عن فخره بتوفير أفضل المتحدثين المحليين والدوليين لبرنامج المؤتمر الغني بالمعلومات على مدار ثلاثة أيام والمسارات المتنوعة له والتي تتضمن كبح حدة الوباء والسيطرة عليه، واستعدادات ما بعد الوباء للتجمعات الجماهيرية، وأنظمة الإصابات وأبحاث ما بعد الوباء.

وأوضح أنه سيتم في اليوم الذي يسبق المؤتمر تقديم ورش عمل ومحاضرات تتضمن مسارات حول الممارسات البطولية للتمريض خلال جائحة /كوفيد – 19/، وصنع القرار عند وقوع الإصابات الخطرة، والاستعداد للسفر بشكل صحي خلال الفعاليات الرياضية.

من جانبه، أشار الدكتور الشيخ حسن آل ثاني، نائب رئيس مؤتمر قطر للصحة 2021 و مدير مركز حمد لإصابات الحوادث بمؤسسة حمد الطبية، إلى أن مؤتمر قطر للصحة 2021 تغير بشكل كبير مقارنة بالعام الماضي وأنه من المهم النظر إلى الاستراتيجيات والبحث عن التطبيقات التي تحاكي الواقع في ظل وباء /كوفيد-19/.

وأضاف أن المؤتمر يوفر معلومات قيمة وتجارب عملية توفر رعاية ذات جودة خلال التجمعات الجماهيرية بالتزامن مع التطورات الأخيرة وأفضل الممارسات لكبح الوباء، كما سيقدم المؤتمر فرص التطوير المهني للعديد من المختصين في الرعاية الصحية من خلال الممارسات والتخصصات المختلفة، مشيرا إلى أن المنصة الافتراضية للمؤتمر تتيح الوصول إلى شريحة أوسع من الحضور وتتيح لهم خوض تجربة ثرية بالمعلومات وشاملة لتعزيز خبراتهم ومهاراتهم.

ويستضيف المؤتمر هذا العام عددا من الخبراء منهم الدكتور مايكل ريان، مدير برنامج الطوارئ الصحية بمنظمة الصحة العالمية كمتحدث رئيسي باعتباره أحد الخبراء البارزين خلال جائحة /كوفيد – 19/، والدكتور عبدالناصر أبو بكر، مدير وحدة التأهب لمخاطر الأوبئة بالإنابة ببرنامج الطوارئ الصحية للمكتب الإقليمي لشرق المتوسط التابع لمنظمة الصحة العالمية، والدكتور علي خان عميد كلية الصحة العامة بجامعة نبراسكا للطب.
