QM hosts Executive Teachers’ Council ahead of new year
متاحف قطر تنظم لقاءها السنوي مع معلمي المدارس
Doha: Under the patronage of its Chairperson, H E Sheikha Al Mayassa bint Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, Qatar Museums (QM) hosted a meeting with teachers at the Fire Station as part of its efforts to make its cultural resources available to teachers and students in Qatar. The event was a chance for QM to introduce schools to its projects and initiatives as well as get their perspectives on how to better integrate museum collections with the national educational curriculum.
Organised by QM’s Department of Education and hosted in cooperation with the Ministry of Education, the event was an interactive session whereby teachers were asked to review lesson plans developed by QM and share their feedback. The session also saw teachers work with a set of artworks and artefacts from QM to develop lesson plans incorporating the objects and finding new ways of brining QM’s vast resources into the classroom.
The highly engaging discussion stressed the importance of collaboration between QM and the educational sector, highlighting QM’s commitment to develop a thriving cultural sector by inspiring a new generation of creators and producers. Commenting on the event, Haya Al Jabor Senior Programs Educational Specialist said, “Students in schools are getting their inspiration and being encouraged by their teachers who should have access to the best resources. It is therefore vital that we work closely with teachers and educators to provide learners with access to our museums and collections, thus encouraging them to explore the world around them and express themselves in creative ways. The session was very productive and we are pleased to head into 2019 with a fresh set of ideas and perspectives.”
The Four-hour long discussion generated several suggestions from teachers on how schools can foster close collaboration with QM.
تحت رعاية سعادة الشيخة المياسة بنت حمد بن خليفة آل ثاني، رئيس مجلس أمناء متاحف قطر، نظمت متاحف قطر لقاءً مع معلمي المدارس في مطافئ: مقر الفنانين في إطار جهودها الرامية إلى إتاحة مواردها الثقافية للمعلمين والطلاب في قطر.
وأتاح اللقاء – الذي نظمته إدارة التعليم في متاحف قطر بالتعاون مع وزارة التعليم والتعليم العالي-، فرصة لمتاحف قطر لتعريف معلمي المدارس على مشروعاتها ومبادراتها والاستماع إلى آراء المعلمين حول كيفية تحسين ربط محتويات المتاحف بالمناهج الدراسية الوطنية، حيث قدّم المعلمون العديد من المقترحات حول كيفية تعزيز التعاون بين المدارس ومتاحف قطر.
وشهد اللقاء النقاشات التفاعلية، وقد أطلعت متاحف قطر المعلمين على خططها المتعلقة بورش العمل التعليمية المخصصة للطلاب لإبداء آرائهم فيها والاستماع إلى مقترحاتهم، كما عرضَت عليهم أيضًا مجموعة من المقتنيات والقطع الفنية وطلبت منهم تأملها والتوصّل إلى أفكار لربط هذه المقتنيات بالمناهج الدراسية، في حين شهد تفاعلًا كبيرًا على أهمية التعاون بين متاحف قطر والقطاع التعليمي، مسلطًا الضوء في الوقت ذاته على التزام متاحف قطر بالمساهمة في ازدهار القطاع الثقافي من خلال توفيرها مصدر إلهام لجيل جديد من المبدعين وصنّاع الفنون.
وتعليقا على اللقاء قالت السيدة هيا الجبر، أخصائي تعليم برامج أول: “طلاب المدارس يتلقون التشجيع على يد المعلمين الذين يجب أن نتيح لهم إمكانية الوصول لأفضل الموارد. ومن ثم فإنه من الضروري التعاون عن كثب مع المعلمين لمساعدتنا في إتاحة متاحفنا ومقتنياتنا أمام الطلاب وتشجيعهم على استكشاف العالم من حولهم والتعبير عن أنفسهم بطرق إبداعية. كان اللقاء مثمرًا للغاية ويسعدنا أن نستقبل عام 2019 وفي حوزتنا مجموعة جديدة من الأفكار والرؤى”.
