HMC’s Enaya Care Center Achieves International Certification for Excellence

Doha: Hamad Medical Corporations (HMC) Enaya Specialized Care Center has become the first facility in Qatar to achieve certification for excellence in person-centered care by Planetree International.

While Enaya is the first facility at HMC to achieve this award, the Communicable Disease Center, the Ambulatory Care Center, Home Health Care Service, and the Private Nursing Service are currently undergoing certification.

The Enaya Specialized Care Center is a support facility that works with Hamad General Hospital and Rumailah Hospital and provides 24-hour care to long-term patients who are in a stable condition. The Center features 156 patient beds and is the only specialized facility of its kind in Qatar. The Enaya team underwent a rigorous evaluation by the Planetree team earlier this year to achieve the certification.

Planetree is a not-for-profit organization that partners with healthcare organizations around the world to transform how patient care is delivered.

Deputy Chief of Quality, Center for Patient Experience and Staff Engagement and Director for the Hamad Healthcare Quality Institute Nasser Al Naimi said person-centered healthcare prioritizes the active participation of patients, residents, and their families throughout the healthcare process with an emphasis on partnership, compassion, transparency, inclusion, and quality.

“Planetrees independent certification committee evaluated the Enaya Specialized Care Center against 26 specific criteria and determined it has met the standards to be deemed silver certified for excellence in person-centered care. The Planetree certification represents the highest level of achievement in person-centered care based on evidence and standards,” said Al Naimi.

“One of the key components in this accreditation is involving patients and their families in the care we give, and they receive and we are proud to have taken this step and have implemented Patient and Family Advisory Councils to guide our person-centered care journey,” He added.

Qatar’s National Health Strategy lead for Healthy Ageing and Medical Director of Rumailah Hospital and Qatar Rehabilitation Institute Dr. Hanadi Al Hamad said the criteria used by Planetree to assess Enaya addressed components of a person-centered healthcare experience, including the quality of patient-provider interactions, access to information, family involvement and the physical environment of care.

An integral part of the move towards person-centered care and the certification process was the establishment of a Patient and Family Advisory Council (PFAC) at Enaya. This Council met monthly for more than 18 months and advised on a variety of issues.

“The PFAC at Enaya was trailblazing in many ways. Working collaboratively with the care team, they designed and implemented projects with the Enaya team including patient room whiteboards and a care partner program and worked to jointly set goals in the strategic plan for Enaya,” said Dr. Al Hamad.

“This certification is the only program of its kind and formally recognizes the ability of the team at Enaya to deliver excellence in person-centered care. The accreditation includes empathy and compassion training for staff and the development of a framework for delivering an exceptional experience for both the care receiver and the giver.”

President of Planetree International Dr. Susan Frampton congratulated the Enaya team on their accreditation and said it demonstrated a true commitment to improvement and always putting the patient first.

“The Planetree Certification is the only award that recognizes excellence in person-centeredness across the continuum of care and Enayas Silver Certification demonstrates the teams commitment to nurturing an environment that ensures the most compassionate care is delivered to their patients who are also engaged in the delivery of their care,” added Dr. Frampton.

الدوحة: حصل /مركز عناية للرعاية التخصصية/ التابع لمؤسسة حمد الطبية، على اعتماد منظمة /بلينتري/ الدولية، كأول مركز متميز في الرعاية المرتكزة على المريض في دولة قطر.

ويعد /مركز عناية للرعاية التخصصية/ أول مرفق بمؤسسة حمد الطبية يحصل على مثل هذه الجائزة المرموقة، ويتم العمل حاليا على منح مركز الأمراض الانتقالية، ومركز الرعاية الطبية اليومية، وإدارة خدمات الرعاية الصحية المنزلية، وخدمات التمريض الخاص شهادات اعتماد مماثلة كذلك.

ويعتبر المركز مرفق دعم متخصصا يعمل مع مستشفى حمد العام ومستشفى الرميلة لتقديم خدمات الرعاية على مدار الساعة لمرضى الرعاية المطولة من ذوي الحالات المستقرة، ويضم 156 سريرا، كما يعد المرفق الأول من نوعه في دولة قطر، حيث خضع فريقه لعناية وتقييم دقيق من قبل منظمة /بلينتري/ الدولية في وقت سابق من هذا العام للحصول على هذا الاعتماد المرموق.

تجدر الإشارة إلى أن /بلينتري/ هي منظمة غير ربحية تقيم شراكات مع منظمات الرعاية الصحية في شتى أنحاء العالم، بهدف إحداث تغييرات للارتقاء بالرعاية المقدمة إلى المريض.

وقال السيد ناصر النعيمي نائب الرئيس لقطاع الجودة بمؤسسة حمد الطبية ومدير معهد حمد لجودة الرعاية الصحية، بهذه المناسبة، إن الرعاية المرتكزة على المريض تعطي الأولوية للمشاركة النشطة بين المرضى وعائلاتهم والكادر الطبي خلال مرحلة تقديم الرعاية الصحية، مع التركيز على عدة مبادئ منها الشراكة، والشفافية، والشمولية، والجودة، مشيرا إلى أن لجنة الاعتماد المستقلة من قبل منظمة /بلينتري/ قامت بتقييم مركز عناية تحت 26 معيارا محددا، وتأكدت من أن المركز استوفى كافة المعايير ليتم حصوله على هذه الجائزة الفضية الخاصة بالتميز في تقديم الرعاية المرتكزة على المريض.

وأضاف أن اعتماد منظمة /بلينتري/، يمثل أعلى مستويات الانجاز في مجال الرعاية المرتكزة على المريض والتي تستند على الأدلة والمعايير، وأحد العناصر الرئيسية لحصول مركز /عناية للرعاية التخصصية/ على هذا الاعتماد بعد إشراك المرضى وعائلاتهم في الرعاية المقدمة لهم.

كما أوضح أن المركز أنشأ مجالس استشارية للمرضى وأفراد أسرهم للدعم والتوجيه خلال رحلة تقديم الرعاية المرتكزة على المريض، حيث تتواجد المجالس الاستشارية في جميع المرافق.

ومن جانبها، قالت الدكتورة هنادي الحمد، قائد برنامج الشيخوخة الصحية في الاستراتيجية الوطنية للصحة، والمدير الطبي لمستشفى الرميلة ومركز قطر لإعادة التأهيل، إن المعايير المستخدمة لتقييم مركز /عناية/ من قبل منظمة /بلينتري/ تناولت العناصر الأساسية في تجربة الرعاية المرتكزة على المريض، والتي تشمل جودة الرعاية المقدمة من قبل مقدم الخدمة، وسهولة الحصول على المعلومات المطلوبة، وإشراك أفراد الأسرة، والبيئة الملموسة للرعاية المقدمة.

ويعتبر إنشاء المجلس الاستشاري للمرضى وأفراد أسرهم بمركز عناية جزءا محوريا نحو تحقيق برنامج الرعاية المرتكزة على المريض والحصول على الاعتماد، حيث عقد المجلس اجتماعا كل شهر على مدى 18 شهرا، وقدم المشورة فيما يتعلق بالعديد من القضايا المتنوعة.

وأوضحت الدكتورة هنادي الحمد أن المجلس الاستشاري للمرضى وأفراد أسرهم بمركز /عناية/ عمل بشكل رائد من نواح عديدة، وذلك من خلال التعاون مع الفريق المتخصص بتقديم الرعاية، حيث قاموا بتصميم وتنفيذ عدة مشاريع مع فريق المركز، والتي تشمل وجود ألواح للكتابة في غرف المرضى، وبرنامج شركاء الرعاية، والعمل بشكل مشترك لتحديد الأهداف في خطته الاستراتيجية.

وأشارت إلى أن الجائزة التي حصل عليها المركز تعترف رسميا بقدرة فريق مركز /عناية/ على تقديم التميز في برنامج الرعاية المرتكزة على المريض، حيث يتضمن الاعتماد تدريب العاملين على التعاطف وتطوير إطار العمل لتقديم تجربة استثنائية لكل من المريض ولمقدم الرعاية.

ومن جانبها نوهت الدكتورة سوزان فرامبتون رئيس منظمة /بلينتري/ الدولية، بجهود فريق عناية وحصولهم على هذا الاعتماد والتزامهم بتحسين الرعاية ووضع المريض دائما في المقدمة، مشيرة إلى أن هذا الاعتماد هو الوحيد من نوعه الذي يعترف بالتميز في الرعاية المرتكزة على المريض عبر سلسلة الرعاية المستمرة.

ولفتت إلى أن هذه الجائزة الفضية توضح مدى التزام الفريق بتطوير بيئة تضمن تقديم الرعاية الأكثر تعاطفا لمرضاهم، مع إشراك المرضى أيضا في الرعاية المقدمة لهم.
