Qatar’s Health Sector Provides High-Quality Care for People Infected with Covid-19

Doha: Qatari newspaper Al-Watan affirmed in its editorial Monday that the State of Qatar has the lowest Covid-19 death rates in the world thanks to the high-quality medical care provided by the health sector for those infected with the virus.

The paper indicated that the country has an average of about 200 Covid-19 cases per day, most of them are from community, in addition to about 20 cases per day among travelers returning from abroad, who are subjected to quarantine.

Al-Watan pointed out that the number of people infected with the Coronavirus around the world exceeded yesterday 40 million, without any signs to contain the pandemic, waiting for a vaccine that alone would eliminate it.

The paper stressed that until a vaccine is found, the only way today to reduce infections is to adhere to the precautionary measures, as new restrictions went into effect in Europe on Saturday, as part of the determined attempts to control the second wave of the Covid-19 after a week that witnessed an increase in infected cases in the European continent, while they have decreased in Latin America, the Middle East and Asia.

In conclusion, Al-Watan said that the number of cases reported in Qatar recently can be greatly reduced and even be brought down to zero, if everyone continues to adhere to the precautionary measures by protecting the elderly and those with chronic diseases from the risk of contracting the virus, adhering to social distancing, wearing masks and washing hands regularly.

الدوحة: أكدت صحيفة /الوطن/ في افتتاحيتها اليوم، على أن المتابعة الطبية وما يقدمه القطاع الصحي في قطر من رعاية عالية الجودة للمصابين بالفيروس، أدى إلى الحفاظ على أدنى وفيات على مستوى العالم .

وأشارت إلى ان المعدل اليومي للإصابات اليومية بفيروس /كوفيد – 19/ حوالي 200 إصابة، معظمها محلية بالإضافة إلى حوالي العشرين إصابة يوميا بين المسافرين العائدين من الخارج، والذين يخضعون للحجر الصحي .

ولفتت إلى تجاوز عدد المصابين بفيروس كورونا حول العالم، أمس، حاجز الـ 40 مليونا، دون أن تلوح في الأفق أي بوادر على تطويق هذه الجائحة، في انتظار لقاح من شأنه وحده إطلاق العد التنازلي للقضاء عليها.

وأعربت أنه لحين التوصل الى لقاح، فإن الوسيلة الوحيدة اليوم للحد من الإصابات هي الالتزام بالتدابير الاحترازية، حيث دخلت الإجراءات الصارمة حيّز التنفيذ في أوروبا السبت، في إطار المحاولات الحثيثة للسيطرة على الموجة الثانية من وباء كوفيد – 19، بعد أسبوع شهد ازدياداً في الإصابات في القارة الأوروبية، في حين أنها انخفضت في أمريكا اللاتينية والشرق الأوسط وآسيا.

وخلصت الصحيفة افتتاحيتها إلى القول “الأرقام التي سجلتها قطر مؤخرا يمكن خفضها كثيرا بل وتصفيرها، فيما لو واصل الجميع الالتزام بالإجراءات والتدابير الاحترازية، ومن ذلك العمل على حماية كبار السن والمصابين بأمراض مزمنة من خطر الإصابة بالفيروس، والالتزام بالتباعد الاجتماعي، وارتداء الكمامات، وغسل اليدين بانتظام” .
