وزارة الصحة العامة تسجل ثلاث حالات وفاة بسبب فيروس كورونا و٦٩٣ حالة إصابة جديدة
QNA – Doha:
Ministry of Public Health today recorded 693 confirmed new cases of coronavirus (COVID-19), with 1468 people having recovered from the virus in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of people recovered from the disease in Qatar to 80,170 cases. The Ministry also announced 3 new deaths
The total number of positive COVID-19 cases recorded in Qatar till now stands at 95106 and there are 14823 active cases under treatment. So far, 113 people died from the coronavirus in Qatar. Ministry conducted 3506 tests in last 24 hours taking the total tests done so far to 352659 tests. There are 93 cases of hospital admissions in the last 24 hours.
The ministry also announces the introduction of 9 cases to intensive care due to health complications resulting from infection with the virus, bringing the total number of cases receiving medical care in intensive care currently to 203.
The Ministry of Public Health points to the decrease in the number of daily cases that require intensive care, as the number of daily cases that require hospitalization is decreasing, but warns that infections may rise again if the community’s commitment to precautions and preventive measures decreases.
The Ministry explains that the new cases were diagnosed through the emergency departments or different health centers. The infection transmitted to them from people who had been previously infected, as the Ministry of Public Health continues to conduct investigative and proactive investigations, which contributes to early detection of cases.
The new confirmed cases have completely isolated in the various medical facilities in the country, where they are receiving the necessary health care according to the health status of each case.
The Ministry said that the deaths recorded today had received the necessary medical care and were aged 59, 63 and 81 years old. The Ministry of Public Health extends its sincere condolences and great sympathy to the families of the deceased.
The Ministry of Public Health states that the coronavirus epidemic is gradually declining in the State of Qatar due to the precautions and preventive measures implemented by the state and the commitment to them it by members of the community with a recent decrease in the number of infections. This is considered a reassuring indicator, but it does not mean the end of the epidemic as the virus is still present in the community.
The Ministry indicates that the number of daily infections among citizens and residents (other than expatriate workers) has increased compared to what it was in May, despite the overall decrease in the total daily infections in Qatar.
The Ministry cautions that most of the infections in these two categories belong to members of the same family, and that the source of the infections is often due to social mixing with friends or other relatives. Care must be taken not to transmit the virus, especially to the elderly and those with chronic diseases.
In this context, the Ministry advises the community to be more careful than before and to continue physical distancing, handwashing and wear a protective facemask as well as being careful when the person is near a family member of the elderly or with chronic diseases. Also, reduce the number of social visits, limit them to 15 minutes if absolutely necessary, and keep a safe distance.
With the start of the second phase of the tighter gradual lifting of the restrictions imposed due to the COCID-19 pandemic starting Wednesday, July 1, 2020, the Ministry of Public Health reaffirms the importance of applying the requirements of the new phase and respecting all the conditions related to it.
The Ministry stressed that the transition from one stage to another from the stages of the gradual lifting of restrictions is subject to the cooperation of all members of society and their application of precautionary measures, and the need to adhere to the procedures in place determined by the Council of Ministers, including wearing masks at the exit and downloading the application of precaution and social separation.
The Ministry of Public Health warns that the gradual lifting of restrictions imposed by Qatar since June 15 after the epidemic has receded in the country does not mean lax implementation of precautionary measures and steps by community members, because the virus is still present in the community.
The Ministry stresses that in the event of a decline in the degree of caution among members of society, it is very likely that the epidemic will return again in the form of a new wave of the spread of the virus in society.
The Ministry states that through people’s commitment to preventative measures and limiting the spread of the virus, it is possible to enter the next phase of lifting restrictions but the matter depends on the extent to which people comply with the measures by, for example, avoiding family visits as much as possible. The Ministry of Health has developed indicators through which it evaluates both daily and weekly the current situation then submitting recommendations to the Cabinet regarding progress and transition from one stage to another of the plan.
The Ministry of Public Health urges anyone with symptoms of COVID-19 to contact the unified helpline (16000), or to go to one of the virus testing centers, since the earlier detection of the disease results in a better chance of recovery.
The main screening centers include Muaither Health Center, Rawdat Al Khail Health Center, Umm Slal Health Center, and Al Gharafa Health Center.
It is noteworthy that the Ministry has dedicated this website to see the latest information and instructions related to COVID-19.
