If you go back to your office after the end of the new Coronavirus pandemic, then you’ll probably notice some changes that will form the end of offices as we know them. Once you enter the building, the doors may open automatically, so you don’t have to touch the handles.

Before you enter the elevator, you may tell the elevator the floor you want instead of pressing the many buttons inside. When you reach your floor, you can enter a room full of spaced partitions and offices, rather than the crowded open office plans you’ve become accustomed to. 

In common areas, such as meeting rooms and kitchens, expect to see fewer chairs and documentation of the last time the place was cleaned. That’s all, of course, assuming you’re going back to your old office in the future. Given the huge impact of the Coronavirus on the economy and the workforce, some may not have jobs to return to! 

While some of those who have kept their jobs so far will continue to work permanently from home, some employers will choose to reduce their leases or seek more flexible office space instead of long leases.

According to Vox, the shared workspaces may not be the same as they were in the past, while abandoning tables and shared spaces, for healthier, less profitable private areas, according to Fox. The Coronavirus or Coved-19 crisis will force us to make rapid and lasting changes to commercial real estate and the business culture itself.

Offices as we know them will never be the same. According to a new report by The Massachusetts Institute of Technology, 34% of people can work from home. “But the practice of condensation will be dealt a heavy blow,” said Janet Pogo McLorin. We will turn to the following question: How do we end the condensation to create the physical spacing that we must apply now?”

إذا عدت إلى مكتبك بعد نهاية جائحة فيروس كورونا الجديد، فحينها ستلحظ على الأرجح بعض التغييرات التي ستشكل نهاية المكاتب كما نعرفها.فبمجرد دخولك إلى المبنى، ربما تفتح الأبواب تلقائياً، حتى لا تضطر إلى لمس المقابض. وقبل أن تدخل المصعد، ربما ستخبر المصعد بالطابق الذي تريده بدلاً من الضغط على الأزرار الكثيرة الموجودة داخله.

وحين تصل إلى طابقك، يمكن أن تدخل غرفةً مليئة بالفواصل والمكاتب المتباعدة، بدلاً من مخططات المكاتب المكشوفة المكتظة التي اعتدتها. وفي المناطق المشتركة، مثل قاعات الاجتماعات والمطابخ، توقع أن ترى عدداً أقل من الكراسي وتوثيقاً لآخر مرة جرى خلالها تنظيف المكان.هذا كله طبعاً بافتراض أنك ستعود إلى مكتبك القديم مستقبلاً.

فنظراً لتأثير فيروس كورونا الكبير على الاقتصاد والقوى العاملة؛ قد لا يمتلك البعض وظائف حتى يعودوا إليها! بينما سيواصل بعض من احتفظوا بوظائفهم حتى الآن العمل من المنزل بشكلٍ دائم، سيختار بعض أصحاب الأعمال تقليص عقود إيجارهم أو البحث عن مساحات مكتبية أكثر مرونة بدلاً من عقود الإيجار الطويلة. وبحسب ما نشره موقع Vox، ربما لن تعود مساحات العمل المشترك كما كانت في الماضي، بالتزامن مع تخليها عن الطاولات والمساحات المشتركة، من أجل مناطق خاصةٍ أكثر صحية وأقل ربحية.

سوف تجبرنا أزمة فيروس الكورونا أو كوفيد-19 على إدخال تغييرات سريعة ودائمة على العقارات التجارية وثقافة العمل نفسه. ولن تعود المكاتب كما نعرفها إلى سابق عهدها على الإطلاق. بحسب تقريرٍ جديد أصدره معهد ماساتشوستس للتكنولوجيا، فإن 34% من الأشخاص يستطيعون العمل من المنزل.

وقالت جانيت بوغو ماكلورين: “لكن ممارسة التكثيف ستتلقى ضربةً قوية. وسنتحول إلى السؤال التالي: كيف ننهي التكثيف لنخلق التباعد الجسدي الذي يجب أن نطبقه الآن؟”
