Transport Minister Inaugurates ‘Sustainable Transportation and Legacy for Generations’ Conference & Exhibition

Doha: HE Minister of Transport Jassim bin Saif Al Sulaiti inaugurated today the MOTs “Sustainable Transportation and Legacy for Generations” Conference and Exhibition, which runs on Sept. 17-18, at the Doha Exhibition and Convention Center, under the patronage of HE Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani.

HE Minister of Interior and Commander of Internal Security Force (Lekhwiya) Sheikh Khalifa bin Hamad bin Khalifa Al-Thani, HE Governor of Qatar Central Bank Sheikh Bandar bin Mohammed bin Saoud Al-Thani, HE Minister of Municipality Dr. Abdulla bin Abdulaziz bin Turki Al Subaie, HE Minister of Commerce and Industry Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Qassim Al-Thani, HE Minister of Communications and Information Technology Mohammed bin Ali Al Mannai, and numerous state and transportation industry officials, were in attendance.

In his opening speech, HE Al-Sulaiti said Qatars investments in developing the infrastructure projects and the transportation sectors support services came in implementation of the directives of HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani, and resulted in Qatar having an integrated, connected, and sustainable transit system, positioning the country high on world map of transportation industry, and enabling it to host major events efficiently.
His Excellency said e-bus operation percentage neared 70% by Q3 of 2023, moving at a steady cadence to transform public bus system to electricity 100% by 2030 in step with the goals of Qatars National Environment and Climate Change Strategy and the pillars of QNV2030.

To support innovation and keeping pace with global advancement in the industry, the Minister announced the launch of the Autonomous Vehicles Strategy, which features the execution of a plan over the coming five years to regulate the terms and conditions of using such vehicles in Qatar, aiming to provide smart, and environmentally conscious transit systems.

The Minister said the MOT is currently working on studying the standards and specifications of EVs, in conjunction with the bodies concerned, in order to put and approve the minimum technical specifications and safety standards of EVs, in addition to establishing a center for inspecting and verifying EVs specifications conformity and issuing approval certificates required.

On maritime transportation, HE Al Sulaiti said the advanced infrastructure and technologies deployed at Hamad Port did contribute to transforming the port to a regional hub port for re-exportation and transshipping, thanks to its expanding transportation network connecting it with over 100 ports worldwide.

The Minister went on to say Al Ruwais Port continues its key role revitalizing regional trade exchange after undergoing significant enhancements and establishing new quays. He added that work is underway to finalize the 3rd phase of the ports development plan, including deepening and enlarging its navigation channel and basin to increase its capabilities, thereby keeping up with ever-increasing ship traffic and importation and exportation operations.
His Excellency also noted the significant impact of the development works the Ministry conducted at Doha Port and how that contributes to supporting tourism industrys plans and revenues through large cruise ship trips.

The Minister stressed the maritime transportation sector continues bolstering its overseas investments through QTerminals, which is now present at several world ports and in the Netherlands in the future.
Speaking of air transportation, His Excellency said the outcomes of the major efforts to develop the air transportation sector through establishing a modern system supported with modern services, were clearly seen during FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022. Over 26,500 aircraft movements were recorded at both Hamad International Airport and Doha International Airport during the tournament. Moreover, the two S-band radar system and long-rang L-band radar have started operation, supporting Qatars full management of its Doha Flight Information Region (FIR), which is a milestone in airspace management.

Meteorology field also saw great progress with weather information stations currently reaching 48, which continued to enhancing meteorology services for maritime and air navigations, in addition to authorizing the maritime center – the main feeder of weather predictions for commercial vessels.

His Excellency said the number of air transportation agreements signed with world countries has reached 175, giving the national carrier access to larger opportunities to expand its network of global destinations. The national carrier of Qatar currently flies to more than 160 destinations via HIA, which currently receives 40 global airlines and 3 more carriers to be added soon.
His Excellency concluded his speech by saying efforts will continue to further develop the transportation and mobility system to support all industries, enhance trade, facilitate mobility and goods transportation, and improve the quality of life for everyone living in Qatar, as well as leaving behind a legacy for generations to come.

Following his speech, the Minister accompanied the attending ministers and officials on a tour in the accompanying exhibition where some of the latest sustainable transportation technologies and innovations are on display. He also witnessed the signing ceremonies of several agreements by some of the participating entities.

Day One of the Conference featured 3 panel discissions. The first, “Switching to Electric, Sustainable Transportation Future Prospects” was attended by speakers from the MOT, KAHRAMAA, and Msheireb Properties. The second, “Public Transportation Multimodal & Integrated” featured speakers from the MOT, Qatar Rail and Mowasalat (Karwa). The third, “Private Sectors Active Engagement in Developing the Transportation System” hosted speakers from Fusion, Leonardo Qatar, and GBM.

الدوحة: افتتح سعادة السيد جاسم بن سيف السليطي وزير المواصلات مؤتمر ومعرض “نقل مستدام وإرث للأجيال”، الذي يقام تحت رعاية معالي الشيخ محمد بن عبدالرحمن بن جاسم آل ثاني رئيس مجلس الوزراء وزير الخارجية، وبتنظيم من وزارة المواصلات والذي سيستمر على مدار يومين في مركز الدوحة للمعارض والمؤتمرات.

حضر حفل الافتتاح سعادة الشيخ خليفة بن حمد بن خليفة آل ثاني وزير الداخلية وقائد قوة /لخويا/ وسعادة الشيخ بندر بن محمد بن سعود آل ثاني محافظ مصرف قطر المركزي، وسعادة الدكتور عبدالله بن عبدالعزيز بن تركي السبيعي وزير البلدية، وسعادة الشيخ محمد بن حمد بن قاسم آل ثاني وزير التجارة والصناعة، وسعادة السيد محمد بن علي المناعي وزير الاتصالات وتكنولوجيا المعلومات، وعدد من مسؤولي الدولة ومنظومة قطاع النقل والمواصلات.

وفي كلمته الافتتاحية، أكد سعادة وزير المواصلات أن استثمار دولة قطر في تطوير مشاريع البنية التحتية والخدمات المساندة لقطاع النقل والمواصلات جاءت تنفيذا لتوجيهات حضرة صاحب السمو الشيخ تميم بن حمد آل ثاني أمير البلاد المفدى حفظه الله ورعاه، وأثمرت عن امتلاك دولة قطر اليوم لمنظومة نقل متكاملة ومترابطة ومستدامة وضعتها بمكانة رائدة على خارطة قطاع النقل، ومكنتها من استضافة كبرى الفعاليات بكل كفاءة.

وعلى صعيد تحول حافلات النقل العام إلى كهربائية، قال سعادة وزير الموصلات إن نسبة تشغيل الحافلات الكهربائية وصلت خلال الربع الثالث من العام الحالي إلى ما يقارب من 70 بالمائة، مع سير الخطى بإيقاع ثابت لتحويل منظومة حافلات النقل العام إلى حافلات كهربائية بنسبة 100 بالمائة بحلول عام 2030، تماشيا مع أهداف استراتيجية قطر الوطنية للبيئة والتغير المناخي وتحقيقا لركائز رؤية قطر الوطنية 2030، ولدعم الابتكار ومواكبة التطور العالمي في قطاع النقل.

كما أعلن سعادة وزير المواصلات خلال كلمته عن إطلاق استراتيجية المركبات ذاتية القيادة، والتي تشمل تنفيذ خطة خلال الأعوام الخمس المقبلة لتنظيم شروط وأحكام استخداماتها داخل دولة قطر بهدف توفير وسائل ونظم نقل ذكية صديقة للبيئة.

وكشف عن قيام الوزارة حاليا بدراسة المعايير والمواصفات والمقاييس الفنية للسيارات الكهربائية بالتعاون مع الجهات المعنية، بغرض وضع واعتماد الحد الأدنى من المواصفات الفنية ومعايير السلامة لهذا النوع من المركبات، وإنشاء مركز متخصص لفحص واختبار مدى تطابق مواصفات هذه السيارات، وإصدار شهادات الاعتماد الخاصة بها.

وعلى صعيد القطاع البحري، بين سعادته أن البنية التحتية المتطورة والتكنولوجيا الحديثة المستخدمة بميناء حمد أسهمت في تحويله إلى ميناء محوري إقليمي لإعادة التصدير، حيث يتميز بشبكة نقل متنامية تربطه مع أكثر من 100 ميناء حول العالم.

وتطرق سعادته إلى الدور الرئيسي الذي يواصل ميناء الرويس لعبه في تنشيط التبادل التجاري الإقليمي بعد التحسينات الجوهرية وإنشاء الأرصفة البحرية الجديدة التي شهدها، وأن سير العمل على قدم وساق لإنجاز أعمال المرحلة الثالثة من الخطة التطويرية الخاصة به، التي تشتمل على تعميق وتوسيع القناة الملاحية والحوض البحري لرفع إمكانياته بما يواكب النمو في حركة السفن وعمليات التصدير والاستيراد.

كما أشار سعادته إلى أهمية عمليات التطوير التي قامت بها وزارة المواصلات لميناء الدوحة ومساهمتها في دعم خطط وعوائد القطاع السياحي في الدولة من خلال الرحلات البحرية عبر السفن العملاقة.

وأكد سعادته أن قطاع النقل البحري يواصل تعزيز استثماراته الخارجية عبر شركة /كيوتيرمنلز/ من خلال تواجدها في عدد من الموانئ العالمية ومستقبلا في هولندا.

أما على صعيد تطور قطاع الطيران المدني، فأوضح سعادته أن الجهود الكبيرة التي بذلت لتنميته من خلال بناء وتطوير منظومة حديثة معززة بخدمات عصرية متقدمة ظهرت نتائجها جلية خلال العمليات التشغيلية لبطولة كأس العالم /فيفا قطر 2022/، حيث سجلت حركة الطائرات في كل من مطاري حمد والدوحة الدوليين أكثر من 26,500 حركة جوية.

كما تم تشغيل رادار المدى البعيد ورادار المدى المتوسط اللذين يدعمان إدارة دولة قطر الكاملة لإقليم الدوحة لمعلومات الطيران الذي يعد علامة فارقة في إدارة الأجواء.

كما تناول التطور الكبير الذي شهده مجال الأرصاد الجوية، مع وصول عدد محطات الرصد الجوي إلى 48 محطة حديثة ساهمت في تحسين وتعزيز جودة خدمات الأرصاد الجوية في عمليات الملاحة الجوية والبحرية، فضلا عن اعتماد المركز البحري المزود الرئيسي للتنبؤات الجوية للسفن التجارية.

وقال سعادة وزير المواصلات إن عدد اتفاقيات النقل الجوية التي تم إبرامها مع باقي الدول وصلت إلى 175 اتفاقية، تتيح للناقل الوطني فرصا أكبر لتوسيع شبكة وجهاته العالمية، والتي تشمل حاليا أكثر من 160 وجهة عالمية عبر مطار حمد الدولي، الذي يحتضن اليوم 40 شركة طيران عالمية، مع انضمام 3 شركات أخرى لها في المستقبل القريب.

وأضاف سعادته أن الإنجاز لن يقف عند هذا الحد وإنما استشرفنا المستقبل من خلال وضع خطط مستدامة للنقل وتدشينها إلى عام 2050 مع الشركاء الاستراتيجيين.

وفي ختام كلمته الافتتاحية، أكد سعادته مواصلة بذل كل الجهود لتطوير منظومة النقل والمواصلات، لدعم جميع القطاعات وتحفيز التجارة، وتسهيل التنقل، ونقل البضائع، وتحسين جودة الحياة لكل من يعيش على أرض دولة قطر وترك إرث للأجيال المقبلة.

وعقب ذلك، قام أصحاب السعادة الوزراء والمسؤولون بجولة في المعرض، اطلعوا خلالها على أحدث التوجهات والابتكارات التكنولوجية التي تقدمها الجهات العارضة في مجال النقل المستدام. كما شهد سعادته توقيع عدد من الاتفاقيات التي أعلنتها الجهات المشاركة في الحدث.

تجدر الإشارة إلى أن قائمة رعاة مؤتمر ومعرض “نقل مستدام وإرث للأجيال” تضم 13 جهة، من بينها في فئة الرعاية الاستراتيجية كل من مجموعة الخطوط الجوية القطرية وشركة مواني قطر وبنك قطر الوطني (QNB) وشركة إيكو ترانزيت لحلول النقل والمواصلات. فيما قدمت شركة سكك الحديد القطرية (الريل) ومجموعة كيوتيرمنلز الرعاية البلاتينية للحدث، وشركة ليوناردو قطر وشركة مواصلات (كروة) الرعاية الذهبية، بينما ساهمت مجموعة فيوجن القابضة في الرعاية الفضية، وقدمت كل من شركة الملاحة القطرية (ملاحة) وشركة آل عبد الغني موتورز وشركة GBM وشركة الفردان للسيارات الرعاية البرونزية للحدث.

وفي تصريحات لوكالة الأنباء القطرية /قنا/ أكد سعادة السيد جاسم بن سيف السليطي وزير المواصلات أن مؤتمر ومعرض “نقل مستدام وإرث للأجيال” يعد علامة فارقة بالنسبة لدولة قطر، حيث يسلط الضوء على أبرز التطورات في قطاع النقل والمواصلات في الدولة، والخطط المستقبلية في هذا القطاع، وأهم التكنولوجيات المستخدمة على الصعيد التشغيلي ومستوى البنية التحتية لما بعد 2030، خاصة وأن لدى دولة قطر خطة شاملة للنقل حتى العام 2050.
