Cisco joins CRA’s initiative to make remote work easy and secure
سيسكو تنضمّ إلى مبادرة تنظيم الاتصالات لتسهيل العمل عن بُعد بأمان
Cisco has joined the initiative launched by the Communications Regulatory Authority (CRA) last month, in co-operation with key players in the Information and Communications Technology (ICT) sector of Qatar, it was announced yesterday.
Cisco took a set of measures and providing offers and packages to help people of Qatar to work remotely from home easily and securely during the precautionary measures taken to limit the spread of Covid-19, according to a statement.
The CRA said Cisco will support businesses in Qatar by offering them free licences up to 90 days for collaboration tools and several security solutions, to work remotely from home easily and securely especially with the increase in remote workers.
The collaboration tools include the cloud collaboration platform Webex, which allows them to make voice and video conference calls, where users can host or join a meeting from any device, including mobile, tablet, or laptop.
In terms of the security solutions, Cisco will support them by offering remote access VPN (Virtual Private Network) with Cisco AnyConnect + virtual Firewall, and Cyber Security anywhere through Cisco Umbrella, in addition to Multifactor Authentication through Cisco DUO.
“We are pleased that Cisco has joined CRA’s initiative, which supports the efforts of our other partners, and enables us to respond further to this emergency, as technology now has a huge role to play in enhancing the management of this exceptional circumstances, reducing the risk of infection and spread of Covid-19, supporting various entities and ensuring their work continuity without interruption, and reducing the economic and social impacts of Covid-19,” said CRA president Mohamed Ali al-Mannai.

It is worth mentioning that Cisco has enabled more than 90,000 free licences in Qatar so far with 10,000 more to be activated and will continue activate licenses as demand requires.
انضمّت شركة «Cisco»، مؤخراً، إلى المبادرة التي أطلقتها هيئة تنظيم الاتصالات في نهاية شهر مارس الماضي، بالتعاون مع اللاعبين الرئيسيين في قطاع الاتصالات وتكنولوجيا المعلومات بدولة قطر، من خلال اتخاذ مجموعة إجراءات وتوفير عروض وباقات لمساعدة سكان دولة قطر للعمل عن بُعد بسهولة وأمان، خلال تطبيق الإجراءات الاحترازية المعمول بها للحدّ من انتشار فيروس كورونا العالمي «كوفيد – 19». ستدعم شركة «Cisco» الشركات في دولة قطر للعمل عن بُعد بسهولة وأمان، خاصة مع وجود زيادة في عدد الموظفين الذين يعملون عن بُعد، وذلك من خلال توفير تراخيص مجانية لاستخدام أدوات تعاونية والعديد من الحلول الأمنية المعلوماتية لمدة تصل إلى 90 يوماً. وتتضمّن الأدوات التعاونية منصة التعاون السحابية «Webex»، والتي تمكّنهم من إجراء مكالمات صوتية ومرئية؛ حيث يمكن للمستخدمين عقد اجتماع أو الانضمام إليه من أي جهاز، بما في ذلك الهاتف المحمول أو الكمبيوتر اللوحي أو الكمبيوتر المحمول.
أما فيما يتعلق بالحلول الأمنية المعلوماتية، فستوفر لهم شركة «Cisco» إمكانية الاتصال عن بُعد بالشبكة الخاصة الافتراضية (VPN) عبر «Cisco AnyConnect» وجدار الحماية الافتراضي، والحصول على خدمة الأمن السيبراني من أي مكان عبر مظلة «Cisco»، بالإضافة إلى استخدام خاصية المصادقة متعددة العوامل (Multifactor Authentication) عبر «Cisco DUO».

وفي هذا السياق؛ قال سعادة السيد محمد علي المناعي، رئيس هيئة تنظيم الاتصالات: «سعدنا بانضمام شركة (Cisco) إلى المبادرة التي أطلقتها الهيئة، وهو ما يدعم الجهود التي بذلها شركاؤنا الآخرون، ويُمكّننا من الاستجابة بشكل أكبر لهذه الحالة الطارئة؛ حيث تلعب التكنولوجيا الآن دوراً كبيراً في تحسين عملية إدارة هذه الظروف الاستثنائية، وتقليل خطر الإصابة بالفيروس والحدّ من انتشاره، وفي دعم مختلف الجهات وضمان استمرار أعمالها دون انقطاع، بالإضافة إلى الحدّ من التأثيرات الاقتصادية والاجتماعية لفيروس كورونا».
