Supreme Judicial Council suspends court sessions for two weeks

The Supreme Judicial Council (SJC) yesterday announced the suspension of the sessions of the Court of Appeal, the Court of First Instance, Labour Disputes Settlement Committee and Rental Disputes Settlements Committee as of today, for two weeks.

In a press release, the Council confirmed  judges continue to look in time-related and other urgent matters, in addition to setting new dates for postponed sessions. The Court of Cassation will continue to consider its hearings on the pre-scheduled dates.

This action comes within the framework of the preventive efforts and measures taken by the State of Qatar to curb the spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19), for everyone’s safety, and after coordination with the relevant authorities in the country.

أعلن المجلس الأعلى للقضاء عن تعليق جلسات محكمة الاستئناف و المحكمة الابتدائية و لجان فض المنازعات العمالية ولجان فض المنازعات الإيجارية اعتبارًا من يوم غد /الأحد/، ولمدة أسبوعين.

وأكد المجلس، في بيان صحفي، استمرار عمل القضاة في نظر الأمور المستعجلة والأمور الوقتية وغيرها من المسائل العاجلة، وتحديد المواعيد الجديدة بالنسبة للجلسات المؤجلة، علما بأن محكمة التمييز ستستمر في نظر جلساتها في المواعيد المحددة لها مسبقا.

يأتي هذا الإجراء في إطار الجهود و الإجراءات الاحترازية والوقائية التي تتخذها الدولة للحد من انتشار فيروس كورونا (كوفيد – 19)، وحرصا على سلامة الجميع، وبعد التنسيق مع الجهات المعنية بالدولة.
