Qatar obtains membership of Committee on Aviation Environmental Protection (CAEP)

Doha: The State of Qatar, represented by the Qatar Civil Aviation Authority (QCAA) , has made a new achievement by obtaining membership of the Committee on Aviation Environmental Protection (CAEP) in the Field of Aviation of the International Civil Aviation Organization / ICAO /.
In a statement, QCAA said that it had been keen during its years of working to protect the environment and mitigate the environmental impacts resulting from the activities of the civil aviation industry.
QCAA added that it is in a constant endeavor to cooperate with all international organizations in this field, and to coordinate with them in a manner that contributes to achieving all goals and strengthening capabilities, in addition to its continuous work on applying the criteria of the Sixteenth Supplement related to environmental protection, which made it among the leading countries in this field at the international level.
The Committee on Aviation Environmental Protection (CAEP) is a technical committee of the ICAO Council established in 1983.
CAEP assists the Council in formulating new policies and adopting new Standards and Recommended Practices (SARPs) related to aircraft noise and emissions, and more generally to aviation environmental impact. (QNA)
حققت دولة قطر، ممثلة بالهيئة العامة للطيران المدني، إنجازاً جديداً بحصولها على عضوية لجنة حماية البيئة في مجال الطيران «CAEP» التابعة لمنظمة الطيران المدني الدولي «إيكاو».
وأوضحت الهيئة -في بيان لها- أنها حرصت خلال سنوات عملها على حماية البيئة والتخفيف من الآثار البيئية الناجمة عن أنشطة صناعة الطيران المدني. وأضافت أنها في سعي دائم للتعاون مع جميع المنظمات الدولية في هذا المجال، والتنسيق معها بما يساهم في تحقيق الأهداف كافة وتعزيز القدرات، بالإضافة إلى عملها بشكل مستمر على تطبيق معايير الملحق السادس عشر المتعلق بحماية البيئة، مما جعلها من بين الدول المتصدرة في هذا المجال على المستوى الدولي.
يذكر أن لجنة حماية البيئة للطيران «CAEP» التي تأسست في عام 1983، تعتبر لجنة فنية تابعة لمجلس الإيكاو، مهمتها مساعدة المجلس في صياغة سياسيات جديدة، واعتماد المعايير والممارسات الموصى بها «SARPs»، والتي تتعلق بالانبعاثات وضوضاء الطائرات، والتأثيرات البيئية الناجمة عن قطاع الطيران.
