MOPH Reports Three New COVID-19 Confirmed Cases

وزارة الصحة العامة تعلن عن ثلاث إصابات جديدة بمرض فيروس كورونا 2019 (كوفيد-19)

The Ministry of Public Health (MOPH) announced today that three new positive cases of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) have been confirmed in the State of Qatar, bringing the total number of confirmed cases in the country to eighteen. The new cases are for three expatriate residents who had contact with the three cases announced yesterday.

The Ministry confirmed in its announcement yesterday that all those who shared accommodations with the patients, or had contact with them, have been quarantined and are being tested to ensure they are free from infection.

In a press conference held at the Ministry of Public Health today, Sheikh Dr. Mohammed bin Hamad Al-Thani, Director of Public Health at the Ministry, said that more than 300 people who had contact with the cases reported yesterday have been tested by the concerned teams of the ministry, with only three people testing positive for COVID-19.

The patients have been admitted to the Communicable Disease Center under complete isolation and they are in a stable health condition.

Dr. Al-Thaniadded that the shops where the patients worked have been closed and are currently being disinfectedto eliminate the COVID-19, which can survive in the air for up to 12 hours.

Dr. Al Thani noted that the early detection system for COVID-19 will help reduce the spread of the disease in the country, adding that the situation in the State of Qatar regarding the Coronavirus (COVID-19) is reassuring, as all indicators on the spread of the virus in the community remain low.

Dr. Al Thanipointed out that the infected individuals, who are quarantined at the Communicable Disease Center, arereceiving the suitable care and are in stable health condition. Some of these individuals show no symptoms of infection.

In response to some baseless rumors on social media platforms, Dr. Al Thani stated that no fatalities have been reported among the eighteen confirmedCoronavirus (COVID-19) cases in Qatar. He affirmed that MOPH is committed to announce updates on Coronavirus (COVID-19) in Qatar with clarity and transparency.

Taking swift action on the confirmed Coronavirus (COVID-19) cases in Qatar reflects preparedness of the country’s health sector for early-detection of infection and having infected individuals isolated and provided with the healthcare they need.

Addressing the Coronavirus (COVID-19) challenge, Qatar has taken a proactive approach whereby healthcare workers look for cases of infection rather that taking a reactive stance after the damage is done.Confirmed cases undergo treatment and individuals who come in contact with these individuals are tested by specialized healthcare workers who work round the clock to protect others from infection, said Dr. Al Thani.

Dr. Abdullatif Al Khal, Co-chairperson of the National Pandemic Preparedness Committee at the Ministry of Public Health, and Head of Infectious Disease Dept. at Hamad Medical Corporation, stated that the three additional confirmed cases of Coronavirus (COVID-19) were among individuals who came in contact with previous infected patients. MOPH has taken prompt and effective action to identify and test individuals who had been in contact with the previously infected three patients. Out of the 300 cases who were screened only three tested positive of COVID-19so far, he said.

Infected patients are in stable condition with minimal symptoms but had to be quarantined on a precautionary basis as per the applicable infection control protocols. Out of 3,500 testing processes done by MOPH on suspected cases, only 18 tested positive with Coronavirus (COVID-19), Dr. Al Khal stated.

Persons who proceed to Emergency Centers with respiratory infection, whether they have travelled to Coronavirus (COVID-19) affected countries or not, will haveto be routinely tested to ensure that they are free of Coronavirus (COVID-19). From the routine, and other, tests which have been conducted we are confident that the spread of the virus in Qatar is limited. This reassures that the measures taken by MOPH, such as early detection,testing of suspected cases, and quarantine, arequite effective. Some of the 18 patients currently under quarantine are improving and expected to fully recover in a few days, Dr. Al Khal revealed.

Dr. Al Khal called on the public to avoid unnecessary travel abroad, bearing in mind that 100 countries have declared Coronavirus (COVID-19) cases amongst their population. He stressed the importance of hygiene practices, such as hand washing with water and soap and using alcohol- based hand rubs when in public and crowded places.

Dr. Hamad Eid Al Romaihi, Co-chairperson of the National Pandemic Preparedness Committee and health protection and communicable disease control at the Ministry of Public Health, stated that the early detection of Coronavirus (COVID-19) cases in Qatar validates the efficiency and effectiveness of the health surveillance and disease containment systems in the Country.

MOPH’s health surveillance teams, who work round the clock to protect the population from the disease, have been instrumental in identifying the infected cases and having those who came in contact with them quarantined. The condition of those infected, thanks to the effort of the team, are stable and receive the suitable care, added Dr. Hamad Eid Al Romaihi.

أعلنت وزارة الصحة العامة في مؤتمر صحفي ظهر اليوم عن تسجيل ثلاث حالات إصابة جديدة بمرض فيروس كورونا 2019 (كوفيد-19) في دولة قطر لوافدين كانوا مخالطين للحالات الثلاث التي تم الإعلان عنها أمس الأحد ليصل بذلك عدد حالات الإصابة المؤكدة بالفيروس في البلاد إلى 18 حالة.

وكانت وزارة الصحة العامة قد أعلنت أمس تسجيل ثلاث حالات إصابة جديدة بفيروس كورونا 2019 (كوفيد-19) في دولة قطر لوافدين، حيث تم إخضاع كل من كان يشارك المرضى في السكن للحجر الصحي بما في ذلك فحص كل الأشخاص الذين اختلطوا بهم للتأكد من صحتهم وعدم انتقال العدوى لهم.

وفي مؤتمر صحفي عقدته الوزارة اليوم قال الشيخ الدكتور محمد بن حمد آل ثاني مدير إدارة الصحة العامة أن الفرق المعنية التابعة لوزارة الصحة العامة قامت بإجراء فحوصات لأكثر من 300 شخص مخالطين للحالات الثلاث التي تم تأكيد إصابتها بالفيروس أمس حيث أظهرت الفحوصات إصابة ثلاثة من المخالطين، وتم إدخال المرضى، وهم في وضع صحي مستقر، إلى مركز الأمراض الانتقالية تحت العزل التام.

وأكد أنه تم إغلاق المحلات التي يعمل بها المصابون ويجري حاليا تعقيمها للقضاء على فيروس كورونا 2019 (كوفيد-19) الذي يمكنه العيش في الجو الخارجي لمدة تصل إلى 12 ساعة.

وشدد الشيخ الدكتور محمد بن حمد آل ثاني أن نظام الترصد المبكر للكشف عن الفيروس في المجتمع يساعد في الحد من انتشار الفيروس في البلاد، مؤكدا أن الوضع مطمئن حتى الآن وأن انتشار الفيروس لا يزال محدوداً في المجتمع، حيث تم إجراء نحو 3500 فحص منذ ظهور المرض كانت إجمالي عدد الحالات المصابة بالفيروس، من ضمنها 18 حالة مؤكدة، مؤكداً فعالية إجراءات الترصد والكشف المبكر للحالات المشتبه بها، والعمل على سرعة احتوائها، حيث تعمل فرق التقصي على مدار الساعة.

وأوضح أن كل المصابين يخضعون للعزل الصحي التام في مركز الأمراض الانتقالية ويتلقون الرعاية الطبية اللازمة بينما حالتهم الصحية جيدة جدا وبعضهم لا توجد لديهم أعراض المرض.

وأكد مدير إدارة الصحة العامة أنه لا توجد حالة وفاة بين الحالات الثماني عشر المصابة بكورونا في قطر وذلك في رده على بعض الإشاعات التي تداولت في هذا الغرض عبر منصات التواصل الاجتماعي، منبها إلى أن وزارة الصحة العامة تتعامل بكل شفافية ووضوح للإعلان عن أي مستجدات تخص فيروس كورونا في البلاد.

وقال الشيخ الدكتور محمد بن حمد آل ثاني مدير إدارة الصحة العامة بوزارة الصحة العامة في المؤتمر الصحفي أن ضبط الحالات المؤكد إصابتها بفيروس كورونا 2019 يؤكد جاهزية القطاع الصحي للكشف المبكر وعزل الحالات المصابة وإحاطتها بالرعاية الطبية اللازمة.

وشدد على أن دولة قطر تحذو حذو الدول المتقدمة في التعامل مع فيروس كورونا 2019 وذلك من خلال البحث عن الحالات وليس انتظار حدوثها وثم عزلها إن كانت هناك إصابات مؤكدة وتقديم العلاج لها وفحص كافة المخالطين من خلال فرق طبية متخصصة تعمل على مدار الساعة.

ومن جهته قال الدكتور عبداللطيف الخال الرئيس المشارك للجنة الوطنية للتأهب للأوبئة في وزارة الصحة العامة ورئيس قسم الأمراض المعدية في مؤسسة حمد الطبية أن الحالات الإضافية الثلاث المؤكد إصابتها بالفيروس هم من بين الذين شملهم الفحص الروتيني للمخالطين للثلاث حالات السابقة .

وأوضح أن وزارة الصحة العامة قامت بسرعة وبفعالية كبيرة جدا باحتواء المخالطين كلهم ووضعتهم تحت الحجر الصحي وأن من بين أكثر من 300 فحوصات مخبرية على المخالطين تبين إصابة ثلاثة فقط حتى الآن.

وأكد الدكتور الخال أن المصابين بالفيروس بصحة جيدة جدا وأن معظمهم لا يعانون من أي أعراض تذكر ولكن بروتوكولات التعامل مع المرض تقتضي عزلهم وتقديم علاج لهم حتى لا ينقلوا العدوى لغيرهم ويتم شفاؤهم سريعا.

وشدد على أن الوزارة قامت منذ بدء تطبيق إجراءات الفحوصات المخبرية بإجراء أكثر من 3500 فحص مخبري لأشخاص مشتبهين حيث تبين من هذه الفحوصات إصابة 18 حالة فقط.

وأشار إلى أن أي شخص يتوجه للطوارئ ويعاني من أعراض التهاب الجهاز التنفسي سواء كان سفر لدول موبوءة أو لم يسافر يتم إجراء الفحص له للتأكد من خلوه من فيروس كوفيد-19 بطريقة روتينية.

وأوضح أنه من خلال تلك الفحوصات وغيرها هناك مؤشرات أن انتشار الفيروس في دولة قطر محدود ويتمركز حول الأشخاص الذين أصيبوا بالمرض وهو مؤشر مطمئن ويؤكد فعالية الإجراءات التي تقوم وزارة الصحة العامة بتطبيقها من خلال الترصد والكشف المبكر وإجراء الفحص لأي حالة مشتبه فيها.

وقال الدكتور الخال أن وزارة الصحة العامة مازالت تقوم بالمزيد من إجراءات التقصي والتحري للمخالطين وإجراء الفحوصات والعزل إذا لزم الأمر.

وكشف الدكتور عبداللطيف الخال أن من بين المصابين الـ18 بالفيروس والذين يخضعون للعلاج هناك منهم من بدأت فحوصاتهم تصبح سلبية وسيتم خلال أيام التأكد من شفاء هؤلاء تماما.

وجدد الدكتور الخال الدعوة إلى تجنب السفر غير الضروري في الوقت الحالي خاصة وأن هناك أكثر من 100 دولة أعلنت عن وجود المرض فيها، مؤكدا أيضا على أهمية اتباع نصائح النظافة وغسل اليدين بالماء والصابون واستخدام المعقمات الكحولية حين التواجد في الأماكن العامة إلى تجنب التواجد في الأماكن المزدحمة.

من ناحيته قال الدكتور حمد عيد الرميحي الرئيس المشارك للجنة الوطنية للتأهب للأوبئة ومدير حماية الصحة ومكافحة الأمراض الانتقالية في وزارة الصحة العامة أن الرصد المبكر لحالات الإصابة بفيروس كورونا (كوفيد-19) في المجتمع تؤكد على كفاءة نظام الترصد الصحي في دولة قطر وسرعة احتواء الأمراض.

وقال إن وزارة الصحة العامة لديها فرق تقصي تعمل على مدار اربع وعشرين ساعة والتي قامت بتقصي حالات الإصابة الجديدة بالفيروس ومتابعة جميع المخالطين الذين خضعوا لإجراءات الحجر الصحي وذلك لمنع انتشار المرض في حين أن المصابين حالتهم مستقرة ويتلقون الرعاية الطبية وهم في صحة جيدة جدا.
