Amir holds phone call with US President

Doha: The Amir HH Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani held on Wednesday evening a telephone conversation with HE President of the United States of America Donald Trump, during which they reviewed the strategic relations between the two countries and ways to support and enhance them in various fields.
They discussed the developments of the situation in Afghanistan following the signing of the peace agreement between the United States of America and the Afghan Taliban, which was mediated by the State of Qatar.
The call also touched on several regional and international issues of common concern.
أجرى حضرة صاحب السمو الشيخ تميم بن حمد آل ثاني أمير البلاد المفدى، اتصالاً هاتفياً مساء أمس، مع الرئيس الأميركي دونالد ترمب، جرى خلاله مناقشة تطورات الأوضاع في أفغانستان، بعد توقيع اتفاق إحلال السلام بين الولايات المتحدة و«طالبان» الأفغانية، الذي تم بوساطة قطر.
في سياق متصل، أكد مجلس الوزراء، خلال الاجتماع العادي أمس، أن قطر ستواصل جهودها لاستكمال العملية السلمية وتحقيق الوحدة الوطنية بين كافة الأطراف الأفغانية، فيما أعربت جامعة الدول العربية، أمس، عن تقديرها للجهود القطرية من أجل التوصل إلى اتفاق بين واشنطن و«طالبان».
