Qatar reiterates firm and supportive stance for Palestinian people’s rights

Cairo: Qatar has reiterated its firm stance towards the Palestinian issue, which is the Arab position committed to establishing the peace process on a comprehensive, just and lasting settlement based on international legitimacy that maintains all the legitimate rights of the brotherly Palestinian people, foremost of which is their right to self-determination, and the establishment of its independent State on the borders of the June 4, 1967, with its capital in East Jerusalem, and the return of refugees, in accordance with international legitimacy resolutions and the terms of reference of the peace process, foremost of which is the principle of the two-state solution.
This came in the speech of the State of Qatar, delivered by Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, H E Sultan bin Saad Al Muraikhi, at the emergency ministerial meeting held yesterday at the headquarters of the League of Arab States.
His Excellency said that Qatar will spare no effort to support all efforts of the brethren Palestinians to restore their legitimate and complete rights.
His Excellency called on the Palestinian people to adhere to the option of unity, prioritise the supreme interest and achieve national reconciliation, in a way that achieves cohesion and unity of the Palestinian people as the best way in their struggle to obtain all their legitimate rights.
H E the Minister considered that the meeting was held under emergency and crisis conditions in the history of the Palestinian issue — the first central issue of the Arabs — which necessitates collective action for us to formulate Arab positions capable of carrying out their responsibilities towards the Arab fatefulness issues, especially the Palestinian question.
He said that the desire to achieve peace represents a feeling and aspiration among all peoples of the world, and there is no doubt that the absence of a just and comprehensive solution to the Palestinian issue and the Arab-Israeli conflict constitutes a grave threat to international peace and security.
His Excellency added that the foundations of the solution are clear and had been expressed in the best way by the Arab peace initiative, which provides a general framework that provides the best way for all concerned parties to negotiate on its basis.
H E the Minister noted that the success of any existing or future initiative to resolve this conflict that had lasted for more than seven decades remains dependent on the involvement of the two main parties of the conflict in serious and direct negotiations based on international legitimacy resolution and a specific timetable to end the Israeli occupation of all Palestinian and Arab lands.
أكدت دولة قطر على موقفها الثابت من القضية الفلسطينية، وهــو الموقف العربي الملتزم بأن تؤسـس عـملية السـلام عـلى تـسوية شاملة وعادلـة ودائمة تسـتند إلى الشرعية الدولية التي تحفظ للشعب الفلسطيني الشقيق كافة حقوقه المشروعة وفي مقدمتها حقه في تقرير مصيره وإقامة دولته المستقلة على حدود الرابع من يونيو 1967م، وعاصمتها الـقدس الشرقـية، وعـودة اللاجئين، وفقا لقرارات الشرعية الدولية ومرجعيات عملية السلام والتي في مقدمتها مبدأ حل الدولتين.
جاء ذلك في كلمة دولة قطر التي ألقاها سعادة السيد سلطان بن سعد المريخي وزير الدولة للشؤون الخارجية في الاجتماع الوزاري الطارئ الذي عقد اليوم بمقر جامعة الدول العربية.
وقال سعادته إن دولة قطر لن تألو جهدًا لدعم كافة جهود الأشقاء الفلسطينيين لاسترداد حقوقهم المشروعة كاملة غير منقوصة.
ودعا سعادته الشعب الفلسطيني إلى التمسك بخيار الوحدة وتغليب المصلحة العليا وتحقيق المصالحة الوطنية، بما يحقق تماسك ووحدة الشعب الفلسطيني باعتبارها السبيل الأمثل في نضاله للحصول على كافة حقوقه المشروعة”.
واعتبر سعادته انعقاد اجتماع اليوم في ظل ظروف طارئة ومتأزمة في تاريخ القضية الفلسـطينية – قضية العرب المركزية الأولى – وهو ما يحتّم علينا العمل الجماعي مـن أجل بلورة مواقف عربية قادرة على القيام بمسؤولياتها تجاه قضايا العرب المصيرية، وفي مقدمتها القضية الفلسطينية.
وقال إن الرغبة في تحقيق السلام تمثل شعورا وتطلعاً لدى جميع شعوب العالم، ولا شك أن غياب الحل العادل والشامل للقضية الفلسطينية والنزاع العربي الإسرائيلي يشكل خطرا بالغا على السلم والأمن الدوليين.
وأضاف أن أسس الحل واضحة وجلية وقد عبرت عنها خير تعبير المبادرة العربية للسلام والتي تقدم إطارا عاما يوفر السبيل الأمثل الذي يتيح لجميع الأطراف المعنية التفاوض على أساسه.
وأشار إلى أن نجاح أية مبادرة قائمة أو مستقبلية لحل هذا الصراع المستمر منذ أكثر من سبعة عقود يبقى منوطا بانخراط طرفي الصراع الأساسيين في مفاوضات جدية ومباشرة ترتكز على قرارات الشرعية الدولية وجدول زمني محدد لإنهاء الاحتلال الإسرائيلي لكافة الأراضي الفلسطينية والعربية.
