No coronavirus in Qatar, MoPH urges public to follow only trusted news sources
«الصحة» تؤكد: لم يتم رصد أي حالة إصابة بـ «كورونا» في البلاد وتدعو لعدم الالتفات للشائعات
The Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) confirmed in a statement that “no cases of China Novel Coronavirus have been detected in Qatar.”
In the statement MoPH called on the public “to not pay attention to any information not issued by trusted authorities.”
“The MoPH will continue to keep the public updated,” it further added.
Yesterday, a senior official at MoPH had said that Qatar has taken all required preventive measures against the newly-emerged coronavirus and the country is well-prepared to respond to any situation.
“We would like to assure people that Qatar has taken all the measures needed to ensure that we are getting with the protocols,” said Sheikh Dr Mohammed bin Hamad Al Thani, Director of the Public Health Department at MoPH, while speaking on the sidelines of an event held at the Ministry.
“Till now there are no cases that have been reported in Qatar. With the help of International Collaboration Centre of World Health Organisation (WHO), we have set lines on how to diagnose any case of coronavirus,” he added.
Dr Al Thani also said that Communicable Disease Centre (CDC) of Hamad Medical Corporation is well prepared to tackle any situation.
“Qatar is well prepared for any cases that might occur. We are well prepared, we have continuity from the airport,” he said.
Dr Al Thani said that over 90 percent people travelling from China are on transit.
Dr Al Thani emphasised that the Pandemic Preparedness Committee has met and taken all needed measures with Hamad International Airport to ensure that all passengers coming from China covered by thermal cameras, messages are spread on board and how to fill forms if needed and what to do in case anyone presents symptoms of coronavirus.
أكدت وزارة الصحة العامة أنه لم يتم رصد أي حالة مشتبهة بالإصابة بفيروس الكورونا الجديد NCOV-2019 .
ودعت الوزارة – في بيان نشرته على حسابها الرسمي بموقع تويتر – إلى عدم الالتفات لأي معلومات غير صادرة عبر الجهات المختصة، مشددة على ضرورة استقاء المعلومات من مصادرها الرسمية الموثوقة .
وكان الشيخ الدكتور محمد بن حمد آل ثاني مدير إدارة الصحة العامة بوزارة الصحة، قد أكَّد أن قطر تتابع بحرص الوضع فى دولة الصين بعد تفشي فيروس كورونا المستجد وكذلك متابعة قرارات منظمة الصحة العالمية حول الوضع فى الصين والذي وصفته بأنه لم يصل إلى مرحلة الوباء وأنه سيتم مراجعة هذا الأمر خلال أيام إما بتصنيفه على أنه وباء عالمي أو بأنه مرض تمت السيطرة عليه.
وقال، في تصريحات صحفية، إن دولة قطر حرصت منذ ظهور المرض على اتخاذ الاحتياطات اللازمة لمنع دخول المرض إلى البلاد من خلال تركيب كاميرات حرارية فى مطار حمد الدولي، وتوزيع رسائل توعوية على الطائرات القادمة من الصين لتوعيه المسافرين بضرورة مراقبة ظهور أي أعراض.
