HMC hospitals to have Qatar Post’s medical report premium delivery service

Patients requesting copies of their medical report from Al Wakrah Hospital, The Cuban Hospital, and Hazm Mebaireek General Hospital will now be able to have them delivered by Qatar Post to their home as part of premium services offered to patients by Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC).

This service is already available at Hamad General Hospital, Rumailah Hospital, Heart Hospital, and the National Center for Cancer Care and Research (NCCCR) and provides patients with the option to request Qatar Post to deliver their medical reports to their doorstep, for a small fee.

“We received very positive feedback from patients about the convenience and reliability of the new service. Under the new service, patients only have to visit the hospital once — to request their report and then HMC and Qatar Post take care of the rest,” said Nasser Al Naimi, HMC’s Deputy Chief of Quality, Center for Patient Experience and Staff Engagement and Director of the Hamad Healthcare Quality Institute.

In 2018, HMC’s Nesma’ak (customer service) teams responded to more than 46,000 inquiries about patient medical reports.

Al Naimi said the new premium service simplifies the process of obtaining medical records, making it more convenient for patients and helping to reduce unnecessary patient visits to hospitals.

“Currently, obtaining medical reports requires a patient, or their representative, to visit one of our hospitals on multiple occasions. The collaboration with Qatar Post removes this extra step,” said Al Naimi.

Under the new system, patients requesting to have their medical report delivered by Qatar Post will be asked to provide their Qatar ID number, a mobile phone number, and a delivery address. They will also be asked to choose a delivery time. Delivery times will vary depending on the complexity of the report requested.

Al Naimi said that the day before the agreed delivery date, a Qatar Post customer service representative will call the patient to confirm the delivery time and location.

Then on the agreed date and time, a Qatar Post representative will deliver the report and collect a delivery fee of QR 50 in cash. Al Naimi said the new delivery system will be rolled out to other HMC hospitals in the coming months, benefitting even more patients.

“HMC is continually working on improvements and innovations that positively impact the lives of our patients. This service is the first in a set of premium services that we plan to offer to our patients,” said Al Naimi.

قال السيد ناصر النعيمي، نائب الرئيس لقطاع الجودة ومدير معهد حمد لجودة الرعاية الصحية بمؤسسة حمد الطبية: «تلقينا العديد من الآراء الإيجابية من المرضى حول سهولة هذه الخدمة الجديدة ودقتها».

وأضاف: «للحصول على الخدمة، يكفي أن يزور المريض المستشفى مرة واحدة لطلب التقرير الطبي، وبدورها تقوم مؤسسة حمد الطبية، بالتعاون مع بريد قطر، باستكمال الإجراءات اللازمة لإيصال التقرير للمريض».

ووفقاً للنظام الجديد، يُطلب من المرضى الراغبين في إيصال تقاريرهم الطبية إلى منازلهم، من خلال بريد قطر، تزويد الموظف المختص برقم البطاقة الشخصية القطرية ورقم الجوال والعنوان، كما يُطلب من المرضى تحديد الوقت المفضل لإيصال التقارير الطبية؛ حيث يعتمد الانتهاء من إعداده على التفاصيل المطلوبة في التقرير.

وأوضح النعيمي أن موظفاً في خدمة العملاء التابعة لبريد قطر، سوف يقوم بالتواصل مع المريض قبل اليوم المحدد للتوصيل، لتأكيد موعد ومكان استلام التقرير، ثم يقوم موظف من بريد قطر بإيصال التقرير واستلام مبلغ 50 ريالاً نقداً مقابل الخدمة.

وكشف عن أن هذا النظام سوف يطبّق في جميع المستشفيات الأخرى التابعة لمؤسسة حمد الطبية خلال الأشهر المقبلة، لتحقيق المنفعة لمزيد من المرضى.
