Amir stresses dialogue for regional peace

Amir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani in an official visit to Iran yesterday held an official talks session with the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, H E Dr. Hassan Rouhani and also met with the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran, H E Ali Khamenei.

H H the Amir and the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran held an official talks session at the Republican Palace in Tehran. The session discussed bilateral relations between the two countries and ways to enhance and develop them to broader levels, especially in the fields of economy, trade, investment and tourism.

Talks during the session also tackled several regional and international issues, especially the latest developments in the region and means for calming; avoiding further escalation and peacefully settling differences in a way that contributes to achieving security, peace and stability in the region and the world.

H H the Amir also met yesterday evening with the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran H E Ali Khamenei in Tehran. 

During the meeting, they reviewed the existing friendship between the two countries in various aspects and ways to develop them. 

They also discussed several regional and international issues, especially the latest developments in the region and means for calming and maintaining regional and global security and stability.

Their Excellencies members of the delegation accompanying H H the Amir attended the meeting along with a lineup of Their Excellencies Iranian ministers and senior officials. 

In joint press statement His Highness gave with H E Iran’s President following the talks session, H H the Amir affirmed that his meeting with H E the President and at the level of the two official delegations, was positive and fruitful, as it has dealt with the outstanding relations between the two countries and means to develop them. 

H H the Amir also  extended thanks to the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran and to the Iranian government and people for the reception accorded to him during his visit to Tehran.

H H the Amir indicated that the two sides agreed to boost trade and tourism exchange, pointing out that Qatar’s relation with Iran is historic and has seen great development. There has always been open channels and discussions with Iran even in the presence of some differences, His Highness said lauding and appreciating Iran’s position after the blockade of Qatar; and extending thanks for providing all the facilities to Qatar and the Qatari people through immediately opening its airspace and seaports.

H H the Amir indicated that the visit comes at a sensitive time the region is going through, indicating that it has been agreed with the brothers and with the Iranian President that dialogue is the only solution to the region’s crises, and to reducing escalation.

At the end of his statement, H H the Amir stated that he had extended an invitation to HE President of Iranian to visit the State of Qatar, which His Excellency promised to do sometime soon.

H E the Iranian President started his statement by expressing his happiness at HH the Amir’s acceptance to the invitation of His Excellency to visit the Islamic Republic of Iran, praising the two countries’ ties of neighborliness and historical friendship.

H E President Rouhani added that the talks came out with important decisions regarding the expansion of bilateral relations and those existing in the economic and commercial fields, as well as the great potentials of the two countries in the scientific and cultural fields that the two countries can enhance.

Regarding the joint committee between the two countries, His Excellency stressed that it will be held during the upcoming months, and will be held regularly and annually. He voiced hope that there would be a “second committee for trade and investment cooperation in all sectors, including the technical field and other affairs”, in addition to intensifying political visits and economic delegations between the two countries.

In his remarks, H E the Iranian President emphasised the importance of the security of the region, especially the security of waterways in the Gulf, the Strait of Hormuz and the Sea of Oman, stressing that the two countries will cooperate and consult to establish and ensure security in these paths. 

أعرب حضرة صاحب السمو الشيخ تميم بن حمد آل ثاني أمير البلاد المفدى عن شكره لفخامة الرئيس الإيراني، ولإيران حكومة وشعبا على ما لقيه من استقبال خلال زيارة سموه إلى طهران.

وأكد سموه خلال تصريحات صحفية مشتركة أدلى بها مع فخامة الرئيس الدكتور حسن روحاني رئيس الجمهورية الإسلامية الإيرانية عقب المباحثات في القصر الجمهوري اليوم أن لقاءه مع فخامة الرئيس، وعلى مستوى وفدي البلدين، كان جيدا ومثمرا، حيث تم استعراض العلاقات المتميزة بين البلدين وسبل تطويرها .

وأوضح سمو الأمير في تصريحه بأن الجانبين اتفقا على تعزيز مستوى التبادل التجاري والسياحي، مشيرا في الوقت نفسه إلى أن العلاقة التي تربط دولة قطر والجمهورية الإسلامية الإيرانية علاقة تاريخية وشهدت تطورات كبيرة، ودائما كانت هناك قنوات مفتوحة ونقاش مع الأشقاء في إيران حتى لو كانت هناك خلافات، مثمنا ومعربا عن شكره وتقديره لموقف الجمهورية الإسلامية الإيرانية تجاه قطر بعد الحصار، ولتقديمها كل التسهيلات لقطر وللشعب القطري، عن طريق فتح أجوائها وموانئها بشكل فوري.

وأشار سمو الأمير المفدى إلى أن الزيارة تأتي في وقت حساس تمر به المنطقة، مبينا سموه أنه تم الاتفاق مع الأشقاء ومع فخامة الرئيس الإيراني على أن الحوار هو الحل الوحيد لأزمات المنطقة، وعلى تخفيف التصعيد من الجميع.

وفي ختام تصريحه ذكر سمو الأمير أنه وجه الدعوة لفخامة الرئيس الإيراني لزيارة دولة قطر، والتي وعد فخامته بتلبيتها في أقرب وقت.

وكان فخامة الرئيس الإيراني قد بدأ تصريحه بالإعراب عن سعادته بتلبية سمو الأمير المفدى لدعوة فخامته بزيارة الجمهورية الإسلامية الإيرانية، مشيدا بما يجمع البلدين من علاقات الجوار والصداقة التاريخية.

وقد أضاف فخامته بأن المباحثات خرجت بقرارات هامة فيما يتعلق بتوسيع العلاقات الثنائية، وتلك الأخرى القائمة في المجالات الاقتصادية والتجارية، فضلا عما يتمتع به البلدان من طاقات كبيرة في المجالات العلمية والثقافية والتي يمكن للبلدين تعزيزها.

وفيما يتعلق باللجنة المشتركة بين البلدين، أكد فخامة الرئيس أنها ستنعقد في الأشهر القادمة بصورة منتظمة وسنوية، معربا عن أمله في أن تكون هناك “لجنة ثانية للتعاون التجاري والاستثماري في جميع القطاعات بما في ذلك المجال التقني والشؤون الأخرى”، بالإضافة إلى تكثيف الزيارات السياسية والوفود الاقتصادية بين البلدين.

وبين فخامة الرئيس الإيراني خلال تصريحه أهمية أمن المنطقة، ولاسيما أمن الطرق المائية في الخليج ومضيق هرمز وبحر عمان، مؤكدا أن البلدين سيقومان بالتعاون والتشاور لاستتباب وضمان الأمن في هذه الطرق.

واختتم فخامته تصريحه بالإعراب مجددا عن بالغ الشكر والتقدير لسمو الأمير ووفده المرافق على هذه الزيارة، معتبرا أنها في غاية الأهمية للجانب الإيراني، ومؤملا أن تتوسع العلاقات بين البلدين لتحقيق مصالح الشعبين، وأن تحقق أثرا نافعا في العلاقات الثنائية .
