Skeleton of a giant dinosaur discovered

Paleontologists have found a 10-meter-long skeleton belonging to a giant Megaraptor dinosaur, the University of The City of Matanza, Argentina, announced. “Researchers from the Argentine National Museum of Natural Sciences found the skeleton of a giant carnivores dinosaur that lived about 70 million years ago in the south-east of Santa Cruz Province,” the university said in a statement. “

أعلنت جامعة مدينة ماتانزا الأرجنتينية، أن علماء الحفريات عثروا على هيكل عظمي طوله عشرة أمتار يعود لديناصور عملاق من نوع ميغارابتور. وجاء في بيان الجامعة، “عثر باحثون من المتحف الوطني الأرجنتيني للعلوم الطبيعية، على هيكل عظمي لديناصور عملاق من أكلة اللحوم عاش قبل نحو 70 مليون سنة في جنوب-شرق محافظة سانتا-كروز. والأشياء التي عثر عليها العلماء هي فقرات وأضلاع وجزء من الحزام الكتفي وعظم القص”.ويقول العالم ماورو أرانسياغي، “لقد عثرنا على نموذج كبير جدا لديناصور عملاق من نوع ميغارابتور، الذي كانت له أدوات رائعة للصيد وكان يتغذى على اللحوم”.وكان هذا النوع من الديناصورات يتميز عن التيرانوزافور، بنحافته ورشاقته وله ذيل طويل كان يساعده في الحفاظ على توازنه. كما كانت له أرجل طويلة بعضلات قوية تساعده على السير بخطوات كبيرة.
