وزير الخارجية يطلع وفد أوروبي على تطورات الأزمة الخليجية
Doha: Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, H E Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, met here yesterday with the delegation of the Qatari-European Friendship Group led by Head of the Group, Ramona Manescu.
Discussions during the meeting dealt with relations and prospects for joint cooperation between the State of Qatar and the European Union and means to strengthen them as well as coordination of positions towards regional and international issues.
The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs briefed the delegation on developments of the Gulf crisis and about Qatar’s efforts to combat extremism and terrorism, and reviewed ways to bolster the cooperation between the State of Qatar and the European Union to enhance security in the region and the world. He also briefed the European delegation on the measures taken by the State of Qatar to improve the conditions of employment with the International Labor Organization (ILO) testimony.
Qatari-European Friendship Group was launched at the European Parliament in October 2012. It includes European members from different parties interested in the role of the State of Qatar and its foreign, developmental, educational and other policies. The main objective of the Group is to strengthen relations between the European Parliament, in particular, the European Union in general and the State of Qatar in various fields, to defend mutual interests and promote bilateral cooperation by organising meetings and mutual visits between the two sides.
اجتمع سعادة الشيخ محمد بن عبدالرحمن آل ثاني نائب رئيس مجلس الوزراء وزير الخارجية، اليوم، مع وفد جمعية الصداقة القطرية الأوروبية برئاسة سعادة السيدة رامونا مانسكو رئيسة الجمعية.
جرى خلال الاجتماع تعزيز العلاقات وآفاق التعاون المشترك بين دولة قطر والاتحاد الأوروبي، وتنسيق المواقف حيال القضايا الإقليمية والدولية.
وأطلع سعادته وفد الجمعية، على تطورات الأزمة الخليجية، وجهود دولة قطر لمحاربة التطرف والإرهاب، واستعرض سبل توطيد التعاون بين دولة قطر والاتحاد الأوروبي لتعزيز الأمن في المنطقة والعالم.
كما أطلع سعادته الوفد الأوروبي، على الإجراءات التي اتخذتها دولة قطر لتحسين أوضاع العمالة بشهادة منظمة العمل الدولية.
يذكر أن جمعية الصداقة القطرية الأوروبية أطلقت في البرلمان الأوروبي، في أكتوبر عام 2012 وتضم الجمعية نوابا أوروبيين من مختلف الأحزاب مهتمين بدور دولة قطر وسياساتها الخارجية والتنموية والتعليمية وغيرها.
ويتمثل الهدف الرئيسي للجمعية في تعزيز العلاقات بين البرلمان الأوروبي، على وجه الخصوص، والاتحاد الأوروبي بشكل عام ودولة قطر في مختلف المجالات والدفاع عن المصالح المتبادلة وتعزيز التعاون الثنائي عبر تنظيم لقاءات وزيارات متبادلة للجانبين القطري والأوروبي.
