Qatar condemns drone attacks on Saudi oil facilities

Doha: The State of Qatar yesterday condemned drone attacks on Saudi oil facilities and called for keeping the region away from conflicts and work together to ensure security of the region.
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs H E Sheikh Mohamed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani said in a tweet yesterday: “We condemn attacks on vital and civilian facilities, recently in Buqayq. These wars and conflicts must stop and efforts must be united to achieve common collective security in the region.”
The Houthis, who are battling a Saudi-led coalition in Yemen, claimed responsibility for the attacks on Saturday on sites run by state-owned Saudi Aramco. The attack on Saudi Arabia triggered the biggest jump in oil prices.
US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo ruled out Yemeni involvement and accused Iran of leading the attacks.
US President Trump said that the US was “locked and loaded” for a potential response.
According to a report, Iranian President Hassan Rouhani said that the attack on Saturday was a reciprocal measure by “Yemeni people” to assaults on their country.

وقال سعادته عبر حسابه الرسمي بموقع التواصل الاجتماعي “تويتر”: “ندين الهجمات على المرافق الحيوية والمدنية وآخرها البقيق”.
وأضاف: “يجب لهذه الحروب والصراعات أن تتوقف وأن تتكاتف الجهود لتحقيق الأمن الجماعي المشترك في المنطقة”.
