Ministry to issue daily price bulletin for fish
الوزارة تصدر نشرة الأسعار اليومية للأسماك
The Ministry of Commerce and Industry today launched a new initiative that will set the maximum price of fish and all other kinds of seafood. The prices will be published daily following an auction that will take place under the supervision of the Ministry. The initiative is aimed at preventing unjustified price increases, cracking down on monopoly practices and ensuring consumers’ right to purchase goods at reasonable prices.
The Ministry noted that the daily seafood price bulletin will be introduced as of Tuesday morning, September 10, 2019.
The Ministry will issue a daily bulletin that sets the maximum sale prices of fish and other seafood products. The prices outlined in the bulletin issued on the last business day will apply to official holidays.
The initiative requires retailers to place a label in a prominent place indicating the type and selling price of each type of fish and seafood. Retailers shall not charge prices higher than those set in the daily price bulletin and shall only sell healthy and consumable fish.
Traders shall also refrain from taking any measures or actions aimed at raising the prices of fish under any pretext while committing to providing any additional service in line with the prices outlined in the mandatory bulletin.
The initiative comes within the framework of the Ministry’s role in overseeing and regulating markets in line with its jurisdiction and taking the necessary measures to protect consumers, combat commercial fraud, promote competition and prevent monopolistic practices. Through the initiative, the Ministry aims to maintain a balance in the relationship between consumers and suppliers or merchants, in order to protect the commercial and economic environment.
The initiative emphasized the importance of abiding by the maximum prices outlined in the daily bulletin, displaying the bulletin in a prominent and clear place and providing the buyer with a detailed invoice. The initiative also compels merchants to comply with the storage conditions of fish and seafood in accordance with applicable health and safety standards.
The Ministry provided a set of tips and guidance, advising consumers to tour the market for a sufficient time to purchase the appropriate goods at the right price. The Ministry also urged consumers to examine the quality of fish and seafood on sale, as well as to refrain from purchasing fish at prices higher than those set in the daily price bulletin. The consumer must also request an invoice from the seller and refrain from buying fish and seafood from unauthorized street vendors.
The Ministry stressed that it will intensify its inspection campaigns to ensure the suppliers’ compliance with their obligations and the daily price bulletin that sets the maximum price of fish and seafood
The Ministry urged all customers to report any violations, processes
complaints, inquires and suggestions through their social media channels.
أعلنت وزارة التجارة والصناعة اليوم الأحد الموافق 8 سبتمبر 2019 عن إطلاق مبادرة تحديد أسعار الأسماك والمأكولات البحرية وآلية بيعها عن طريق إصدار نشرة أسعار جبرية تنشر يوميا بعد إجراء المزاد العلني اليومي تحت إشراف الوزارة، وذلك بهدف تفادي الارتفاع غير المبرر في أسعارها والقضاء على مظاهر الاحتكار وضمان حق المستهلك في الحصول على هذه السلعة بأسعار مناسبة.
وأشارت الوزارة إلى أنه سيبدأ العمل بالنشرة اليومية بالحد الأقصى لأسعار بيع الأسماك والمأكولات البحرية للمستهلك، اعتباراً من صباح يوم الثلاثاء الموافق 10 سبتمبر 2019.
وتأتي هذه المبادرة في إطار دور الوزارة بالإشراف على تنظيم ومراقبة الأسواق في مجال اختصاصها واتخاذ التدابير اللازمة لحماية المستهلك ومكافحة الغش التجاري وحماية المنافسة ومنع الممارسات الاحتكارية، فضلا عن إقامة توازن في العلاقة بين المستهلك والمزود أو التاجر، لأجل حماية البيئة التجارية والاقتصادية.
وستقوم وزارة التجارة والصناعة بإصدار نشرة يومية بالحد الأقصى لأسعار بيع الأسماك والمأكولات البحرية للمستهلك، وتسري هذه النشرة لآخر يوم عمل خلال أيام الإجازات والأعياد الرسمية.
واشترطت المبادرة على تاجر التجزئة بأن يضع بطاقة على كل صنف من الأسماك والمأكولات البحرية بمكان ظاهر توضح به النوع وسعر البيع للمستهلك، ولا يجوز لتاجر التجزئة تقاضي مبالغ تزيد على الحد الأقصى للأسعار المحددة بالنشرة الجبرية، فضلا عن الالتزام بالتعامل في الأسماك السليمة والصالحة للاستهلاك الأدمي، وعدم اتخاذ أي تدبير أو إجراء يهدف إلى رفع أسعار الأسماك تحت أي مسمى، مع الالتزام بتقديم الخدمات الإضافية بالأسعار المحددة في النشرة الجبرية.
وشددت المبادرة على الالتزام بالحد الأقصى للنشرة اليومية لأسعار بيع أنواع الأسماك والمأكولات البحرية للمستهلك، والالتزام بوضع نشرة الأسعار في مكان بارز وواضح، والالتزام بتسليم المشتري فاتورة مفصلة، كما ألزمت التاجر بمراعاة شروط تخزين الأسماك والمأكولات البحرية وفقاً للمواصفات القياسية الخاصة والالتزام بشروط الصحة والسلامة.
بدورها قدمت وزارة التجارة والصناعة مجموعة من النصائح والمعلومات التوعوية والارشادية للمستهلك، كالتجول بالسوق لفترة كافية لاختيار السلعة المناسبة والسعر المناسب، والتأكد من سلامة الأسماك والمأكولات البحرية المعروضة وجودتها قبل الشراء، والامتناع عن شراء الأسماك بسعر يزيد على الثمن المحدد بالنشرة اليومية للأسعار، فضلا عن أنه يجب على المستهلك طلب فاتورة الشراء من البائع، إضافة إلى عدم شراء الأسماك والمأكولات البحرية من الباعة المتجولين غير المرخص لهم.
وأكدت وزارة التجارة والصناعة أنها ستكثف حملاتها التفتيشية للتأكد من الالتزام بالنشرة اليومية بالحد الأقصى لأسعار بيع أنواع الأسماك والمأكولات البحرية للمستهلك، ومدى تقيد المزودين بالتزاماتهم المنصوص عليها.
