Qatar and Republic of Korea sign several pacts

DOHA: Prime Minister and Interior Minister H E Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al Thani and the Prime Minister of the Republic of Korea, Lee Nak-yeon, held an official talks session at the Amiri Diwan yesterday.
At the outset of the session, the Prime Minister greeted his Korean counterpart and the accompanying delegation, saying that their visit to the State of Qatar would contribute to cementing the strategic relationship between the two countries.
Prime Minister of the Republic of Korea lauded the outstanding relations between the two countries and stressed looking forwards to further advance them.
During the session, the two sides discussed bilateral ties and means to develop and promote them in different spheres, particularly energy, trade, investment, security, health, tourism and transportation. They also reviewed regional and international development of mutual interest.
Following the session, the Prime Minister and South Korean Prime Minister attended the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) for cooperation in the legal field between the Ministry of Justice in the State of Qatar and the Ministry of Justice in the Republic of Korea and an MoU for cooperation and academic exchange between Qatar Museums and the National Museum in the Republic of Korea in addition to an action plan regarding security cooperation in the field of training and exchange of expertise between the Ministry of Interior in the State of Qatar and the Korean National Police Agency.
A lineup of Their Excellencies Ministers attended the signing ceremony. On the Korean sides, it was attended by members of the official delegation.
The Prime Minister of the Republic of Korea arrived earlier in the Amiri Diwan where he was accorded an official reception ceremony. Prime Minister also hosted a luncheon banquet in honour of the South Korean Prime Minister and his accompanying delegation.
The banquet was attended by a number of Their Excellencies Ministers.
Meanwhile, the Qatari-Asian Friendship Group of the Shura Council held a meeting yesterday with a delegation of The National Assembly of the Republic of Korea which is currently visiting the country.
Chairman of the Group H E Rashid bin Hamad Al Maadadi chaired the meeting.
During the meeting, the distinguished relations between the two friendly countries were reviewed, especially in the parliamentary field between the Shura Council and the Korean National Assembly as well as strengthening parliamentary cooperation between them.
The members of the Korean parliamentary delegation praised the economic, cultural, sports and legislative renaissance happening in Qatar under the wise leadership, and the great development witnessed in the Qatari-Korean relations.

جرى خلال المقابلة، استعراض العلاقات الثنائية بين البلدين، وسبل دعمها وتعزيزها، بالإضافة إلى عدد من الموضوعات ذات الاهتمام المتبادل.
حضر المقابلة معالي الشيخ عبدالله بن ناصر بن خليفة آل ثاني رئيس مجلس الوزراء وزير الداخلية.
عقد معالي الشيخ عبدالله بن ناصر بن خليفة آل ثاني رئيس مجلس الوزراء ووزير الداخلية، ودولة السيد لي ناك يون رئيس مجلس الوزراء بجمهورية كوريا جلسة مباحثات رسمية بالديوان الأميري قبل ظهر اليوم.
في بداية الجلسة، رحب معالي رئيس مجلس الوزراء ووزير الداخلية بنظيره الكوري والوفد المرافق في دولة قطر، مشيرا إلى أن الزيارة ستسهم في دعم وتطوير العلاقة الاستراتيجية المتميزة بين البلدين والانتقال بها إلى مجالات أرحب وأوسع.
من جانبه، أشاد دولة رئيس الوزراء الكوري بالعلاقات الثنائية الوطيدة بين البلدين، وأكد على تطلعه لتعزيزها في مختلف المجالات.
وبحث الجانبان، خلال الجلسة، العلاقات الثنائية بين البلدين الصديقين، وسبل تنميتها وتعزيزها في مختلف المجالات، لاسيما في مجالات الطاقة والتجارة والاستثمار والأمن والصحة والسياحة والمواصلات.. بالإضافة إلى استعراض تطورات الأوضاع الإقليمية والدولية ذات الاهتمام المشترك.
بعد ذلك، شهد معالي رئيس مجلس الوزراء ووزير الداخلية ودولة رئيس وزراء جمهورية كوريا، التوقيع على مذكرة تفاهم للتعاون في المجال القانوني بين وزارة العدل في دولة قطر ووزارة العدل في جمهورية كوريا، ومذكرة تفاهم للتعاون والتبادل الأكاديمي بين هيئة متاحف قطر والمتحف الوطني بجمهورية كوريا، بالإضافة إلى خطة عمل بين وزارة الداخلية بدولة قطر والوكالة الوطنية للشرطة بجمهورية كوريا بشأن التعاون الأمني في مجال التدريب وتبادل الخبرات.
حضر جلسة المباحثات ومراسم التوقيع عدد من أصحاب السعادة الوزراء.. وحضرها عن الجانب الكوري أصحاب السعادة أعضاء الوفد الرسمي المرافق.
وكان دولة رئيس وزراء جمهورية كوريا، قد وصل إلى الديوان الأميري في وقت سابق حيث جرت له مراسم استقبال رسمي.
