Kahramaa to hold 7th annual celebrations of Tarsheed on April 15

Qatar General Electricity & Water Corporation (Kahramaa) will hold its 7th annual celebrations of the National Program for Conservation and Energy Efficiency (Tarsheed) on April 15.
During the celebration, Kahramaa will announce the winners of Tarsheed competition, which launched this year 7 competitions, in the framework of its keenness to spread public awareness and cultural and societal values of rationalisation and consumption efficiency among the members of society.
The national program ‘Tarsheed’ announced the launch of a number of competitions, including two competitions for students: the best story writing competition and the best graduation project for energy efficiency competitions, in addition to five competitions related to different sectors in the country, the best sustainable building design competition, the best poster design competition, conserving buildings competition, the best renewable energy initiative competitions and the best performance award for district cooling system competitions.
Since its launch until the end of 2017, Tarsheed Program has succeeded in reducing per capita consumption of electricity by 17 percent, water by 18 percenr, reducing carbon emissions by 10.2 million tonnes, reducing natural gas consumption by 265,000 million cubic feet, and helped save QR5bn.
According to the second national strategy 2018-2022, Tarsheed Program started Phase II in 2017, which aims to reduce electricity consumption by 8 percent and water 15 percent by 2022, and reducing harmful carbon emissions by 7 percent, improving and implementing regulations and specifications for all electrical and water devices and connections, and providing technical support to a number of projects in the country to produce 500-700 MW of renewable energy by 2022.
تقيم المؤسسة العامة القطرية للكهرباء والماء «كهرماء»، الاحتفالية السنوية السابعة للبرنامج الوطني للترشيد وكفاءة الطاقة «ترشيد»، وذلك يوم 15 أبريل الحالي.
وستعلن «كهرماء»، خلال الاحتفالية، عن الفائزين في مسابقات «ترشيد»؛ حيث أطلقت هذا العام 7 مسابقات تتعلق بالبرنامج الوطني للترشيد وكفاءة الطاقة «ترشيد»، وذلك في إطار حرصها على نشر الوعي العام والقيم الثقافية والمجتمعية الخاصة بالترشيد وكفاءة الاستهلاك بين أفراد المجتمع.
وأعلن «ترشيد» عن طرحه عدداً من المسابقات، من ضمنها مسابقتان للطلبة، وهي مسابقة «أفضل قصة قصيرة»، ومسابقة «أفضل مشروع تخرج عن كفاءة الطاقة»؛ وكذلك خمس مسابقات تتعلق بقطاعات مختلفة بالدولة، وهي مسابقة أفضل تصميم لمبنى مستدام، ومسابقة أفضل لوحة فنية، ومسابقة الأبنية المرشدة، ومسابقة أفضل مبادرة في الطاقة المتجددة، ومسابقة جائزة أفضل أداء لنظام تبريد المناطق.
ونجح برنامج «ترشيد»، منذ انطلاقه وحتى نهاية 2017، في خفض معدل استهلاك الفرد من الكهرباء بمعدل 17 %، ومن المياه بمعدل 18 %، وخفض الانبعاثات الكربونية الضارة بحوالي 10.2 مليون طن، وخفض استهلاك الغاز الطبيعي بمقدار 265 ألف مليون قدم مكعبة، وتحقيق وفر مالي للدولة يقدّر بحوالي 5 مليارات ريال.
