Rwanda lies in the middle of the African continent, south of the equator. It is a non-coastal inland state and is connected to the outside world through its neighbors, especially through the ports of Dar es Salaam in Tanzania and Mombasa in Kenya.
Rwanda’s government has succeeded in fighting corruption and in reducing extreme poverty. Its economy is one of the fastest growing economies in the African continent, with textiles, clothing, leather, agricultural crops, livestock, timber, metals, tourism and information and communications technology being the prominent sectors.
Rwanda also attracts tourists from around the world for its natural and wild life.
The Government of Rwanda is transforming its economy from being reliant on low-income agriculture into a knowledge-based economy, encouraging foreign investment by easing restrictions and providing incentives.
